Ehh, What's Up Doc!

« on: January 29, 2009, 06:24:51 PM »

It's that time of year again!  If you worked at the park last year and you're interested in coming back, please make sure you come to the

SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE
RE-HIRE* JOB FAIR!
SATURDAY 2/7 AND SATURDAY 2/21!
10AM - 4PM BOTH DAYS!

*New Hires are welcome too, so Bring a Friend re-hires!  Afro

The job fair is a great opportunity to get a jump-start on the season, get all of the boring formalities out of the way, and start the fun!

If you haven't worked for the park before (or even if you have!), and you are curious about the different positions, the Job Fair is a great way to get to speak to representatives from the different departments and see which one fits you best!

Amusing News for Job Seekers, Six Flags is Hiring
NBCPhiladelphia.com
updated 11:46 p.m. ET, Thurs., Feb. 12, 2009

From high schoolers to seniors there is a job for almost anyone at one local company.

Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J., One of New Jersey's largest seasonal employers, is looking for some workers -- 4,100 workers. They need to hire employees and interns for the 2009 season.

The Amusement Park will be holding a job fair on Saturday, February 21 for potential employees.

- Click here to fill out an online application.

There are a variety of jobs up for grabs with a slew of benefits including flexible hours, advancement opportunities, health and medical benefits, reward and recognition programs, scholarships, free park admission and more, according to Six Flags officials.

They are hiring in the following areas:

- Merchandise
- Games
- Park Services
- Loss Prevention and Security
- Landscapers
- Human Resources
- Toll Booth Attendants
- Safari
- Marketing
- Cash Control
- Ride Operations
- Lifeguards
- Entertainment
- Guest Relations

"Six Flags is looking for enthusiastic candidates of all ages and backgrounds including students, teachers, stay-at-home parents, retirees and second wage earners interested in pursuing careers in occupations such as marketing, accounting, criminal justice, theater arts, human resources, hospitality and business management, horticulture and zoology," according to Park Public Relations Manager Angel Aristone.

Applicants are asked to fill out an online application at SixFlagsJobs.com before attending the job fair.

Here are the job fair details:
Where: Six Flags Great Adventure’s Employment Center, 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, N.J. 08527 (enter parking lot through employee entrance)
When: February 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you can't make the job fair there is still a chance to work at Six Flags. The employment office is open Monday to Friday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Just in case anyone wants to know, the Safari jobs are most likely Gate Guards. Which isn't a bad position, but not the most exciting probably either. You will spend your days standing at one of the gates, waving to people who drive by, and closing the gates if animals who shouldn't move between sections get too close.

But hey, if you are one of those people who really want a nice suntan look no farther! Plus you get to stare at animals all day, who are probably better tempered than most park guests.
