If it does open up this season, I'll have to strongly consider going this summer, and visit some of my CP buddies that are in the Carolinas while I'm down there.

I highly recommend the trip.  The park's do-able in a day, probably even if it was busy.  Plus, its Myrtle Beach.

A Delaware company , not  the guys from Blue Diamond I hope?   If they do open..

Do I wait till mid season, thinking I'll get every credit.  Or do I rush down opening day because they could close the next day ?  HMMMM....

SOLD to FPI MB Entertainment:
Quote
Wilmington, Del. | A judge has approved the sale of Hard Rock Park to FPI MB Entertainment for $25 million. The sale is scheduled to close no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, but could happen as early as Wednesday.

Delaware bankruptcy court Judge Kevin Carey called the price adequate and the process rigorous. "Anyone who wanted the opportunity to bid had it," he said. FPI wants to keep the Hard Rock brand but has agreed to destroy any Hard Rock-branded merchandise before the park opens if there is no agreement on extending the license agreement, lawyers for the companies said in court.

The judge overruled the objection of Coastal Entertainment, a company out of Finland that said it wanted to bid $25.5 million. Officials with legal and accounting firms involved in the case it would take at least 10 to 14 days for the company's funding to come through to the United States, and they could not confirm a claim by the company that it had wired in a down payment of $2.5 million.

Carey said Coastal Entertainment came "to the court too little and too late." A lawyer for Coastal Entertainment, Karen Bifferato, said she believed her client's bid, given time, would have been the better offer....

WOW
25 million what a bargain
What was the cost to build the park 100-200 million  ?

Just 5 years ago Clementon park was going for 15 million

Does the park come with all the debt?
I'm sure B&M and Premier still want to be paid.
Otherwise good luck getting your ride fixed when it breaks.

Exaclt my concern to Ken. Even ordering parts to keep them running could be a challenge if they can't get credit or open any accounts due to the debt.

Hopefully they worked this out ahead of time. And when you think about it, they just purchased an entire park for less than 1 Kingda Ka. That's a freaking steal!

Assets sold in bankruptcy are usually sold free and clear of all liens.  That is the case here.  The new buyer is NOT assuming the debt.  If, however, they want to continue using the Hard Rock name, they must negotiate with the licensor to do so.

I saw this on Screamscape...
This was the attraction I really wanted to experience at the Hard Rock Park.
I suppose this is the closest I'll ever get to it since I never made it there.

That  was the best video yet, I'm glad Sally posted that. I think the park should of kept every ride possible for this season. Then they could rethink what should stay or go.  This ride alone would have brought more people to the gate, Like me and others who really wanted to ride it!

Going to the new park this summer . I am going only because we are in the area and it is something to do with the kids and we missed HRP last summer. I am still wondering what they are going to keep and what is going to be replaced . I guess we will have to wait and see what happens with it.
