Maybe I don't give the average park goer enough credit, but I would think most of the people wanting to visit the park that day would assume it was going to be open to the public anyway and never contemplate that the park could be closed for a private event. I would be very curious to see how many people would have shown up only to be turned away had the private buy-out gone as planned.
