GreatAdventureHistory.com is proud to announce that we have just completed work on a book about the history of Great Adventure!

Titled Images of America: Six Flags Great Adventure, the book captures all the fun and excitement of the past 35 years at our favorite New Jersey park.  At 128 pages, the book contains about 225 photos and tons of interesting park information.  Thanks to the supportive team in the Great Adventure offices, we have been able to include many never before seen photos such as artist renderings, ride models, and chapters full of early park views.

Front Cover:

Back Cover/Binding:

GreatAdventureHistory.com is also happy to announce that a set of old-style Great Adventure postcards will also be available to complement our Images of America:  Six Flags Great Adventure book!

Postcards of America:  Six Flags Great Adventure is a set of 15 individual suitable-for-mailing black and white postcards which come packaged in a clear vinyl envelope.  The images on the postcards include some park classics like the Carousel, Skyride, and Runaway Train, as well as some long gone favorites like the Great Train Ride and the Pretty Monster.

The postcard set is expected to be released with the book in August.

Front of packet:

Back of packet:

The book and postcards are both scheduled for an August release (no exact date set yet) and will be available in the park's gift shops as well as bookstores nationwide and through online booksellers.  It can currently be pre-ordered on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com now.

The book is now available at most Barnes & Nobel stores within a 100 mile radius of the park.  It should be on sale at the park either this weekend or the next! Cheesy

Quote
..."Harry and Tom already host a history website that is extremely accurate, so they actually didn't need much from us," said Six Flags Great Adventure publicist Angel Aristone. "We gave them access to our entire photo catalog, and the archives were also utilized for fact checking. They would spend hours scanning in slides and going through old park fact sheets and press releases."

According to Aristone, who praised Applegate and Benton for their professionalism and work ethic, all photos and promotional and marketing materials are archived in the park marketing office. Photo slides, press releases, brochures and park maps also contributed to "putting all the pieces of the puzzle together," Applegate said....

Just a heads up...

The book is now available at the park in the Main Street Market and the Looney Toons Shoppe.

On Sunday (November 1st) we'll be signing books in the Looney Toons Shoppe from 2:00 to 4:00.  We figure it's the best day to meet with all the die hard park fans and remind people that Christmas is just around the corner. Wink
