The largest ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is coming down.
The park began dismantling Chang on Monday as part of the largest water park expansion in Kentucky Kingdom's history.
...Six Flags is giving Chang to another amusement park.
McClean said Chang is the only ride being removed at this time.
Details about the new water park have not been released. http://www.wlky.com/news/21043204/detail.html

Makes no sense. Hopefully it doesn't come here unless it's replacing another 54'er.

Looks like my ridiculous rumor came true. Yikes. Great Escape I could see. But Great America?
After they sent serial thriller to Le Ronde instead of Great Escape (even though Le Ronde already has a B&M Invert) I think its safe to say Great Escape isn't getting Jack. I could see it getting sold off.

If this is their reward for winning the Tournament of Thrills, I'm glad we lost.

I think we should get it. a stand-up coaster would be a great addition to our line-up.

We had a standup coaster and it was already rotated. I have ridden Riddlers Revenge and while its a great ride, its just not a attention grabber that would overtake everything else at Great Adventure.

Chang would be SFGA 5,6, or 7th best coaster. Not worth moving here. Also after the dive machine comes eventually you would have 6 B&M. Cool and yet not cool.

well, that's your opinion. But this park does need more variety, 4 are B&M, 2 are Intamin. That leaves 3. One is arrow (Extinct) I think RT is PTC and I completely forget who made the runaway train.

First of all, Rolling Thunder is a marvelous wonder by William Cobb and Don Rosser. PTC is in no way responsible for the coaster, though it did build the trains. Runaway Mine Train is an Arrow creation. And stand up coasters were a novelty/fad whose time has come and gone. Six Flags Great Adventure deserves better. The best one ever built, in my opinion, was a TOGO at Kings Island. The best B and M standup was their last, Georgia Scorcher. How many years ago was that? 1999. And they ain't sold one since. Gee, I wonder why.

I think a park like SFA needs this type of ride. Plus they have all that land between Batwing and S:ROS

I agree. And for the record, Shockwave was and is a POS while Riddler (althoughi I've never been on it) always ranks up there as one of the best in most trip reports and reviews so it must be one of the few standups that got it right. wow, good seeing you!

It is, bar none, hands down. The giant swooping maneuvers on that ride make it amazing. Scorcher is decent, Chang is just as good as scorcher, Riddlers is hands down the best.
of course, the cool station and themed music helps. I don't remember being particularly wowed by any of the other ride locations, or theming.

The funny thing is all three have inclined loops. I call them "sidewinders" but there's no "official definition of a sidewinder on a rollercoaster

Chang and Riddler were fun. Nothing to write home about for me. Neither is needed at GA as they invert are steel and have a 54'' height requirement. GA has been down that road way too many times before. Just my common cents.

^ Totally agree. Stand up are outdated and SFGA is not the place for sencond hand coasters. Even though this is about as good of a second hand coaster you are gonna get. It's not good enough. Move OzCat here and you'd have something.
Dan you don't strike me as a Talon guy. Am I wrong?
