As of today Six Flags Great Adventure is now closed for the 2009 season! According to the official website the park re-opens on March 27th, 2010 - it's going to be a long five months!

We hope everyone had fun this season, and enjoyed things like Bizarro, Saturday Night Lights and the smooth-running season in general (besides Kingda Ka).

Don't forget that season passes are now on sale for the low price of $79.99! And that the park also has a Play Pass (which does not include the Wild Safari) for $69.99.

Also, you might have seen this thread about Hope for the Holidays, an event on Friday, November 13th from 5PM-7PM that will let you get one last ride on Kingda Ka (or Nitro if it's bad weather) with a Toys for Tots or Salvation Army donation (or $5 admission). You can see more information about it here. This sounds great, and we hope a lot of people attend!

We will still be around all winter long to chat it up with you guys, and we may add some new things to the site to make it even better (if you guys have any suggestions, let us know!).

We expect the 2010 season to be pretty quiet, except the addition of the Tornado to Hurricane Harbor, as Six Flags gears up for its 50th anniversay as a chain in 2011. However, 2011 might end up being an interesting and fun year - stay tuned!

we need t-shirts.
we need hats.
we need our own day at six flags next year.
we need free food every visit.
we should get free stuff when we go there.
we need our own merchandise for sale there.

So, the latest Screamscape rumor for next year makes absolutely no sense. They need to check up on things more before they post!

Quote
I’ve been sent a rumor claiming that over the off-season, the park may perform some kind of major refurbishment to the Fort Independence structure that is home to the Runaway Mine Train as well as the Skyway station.

Fort Independence is where the dolphin show is correct? Unless I'm going crazy. I don't think the place with RMT/Skyway has a name?

As long as they don't refurbish it like they fixed the Tee Pee!
The wood on there is getting a bit ragged. And it is an easy update.

LOL.

I'm guessing that they meant the Western Fort. We are a two fort park.

I'm glad it's over. I'm filing this season in the soon to be forgotten file. '03 has some company.

I thought it was an excellent season.  They had great employees and almost every coaster was operating maximum trains every day we were there.  Believe it or not, we had way more rides on Nitro then RT this year.  The Nitro crew was the best!
