I read in a trip report on another site that a crane was spotted next to KK over the last few days... Does anyone know if the ride going down for maintenance/repairs?  I checked the ride status on here and it says "open", but I didn't know if anyone on here knew if it would be closed soon...

I'm going down in a couple weeks and will be heartbroken if it's not working...

As far as I know it's running and everything is fine. When you say "spotted next to KK", where do you mean? There will definitely be cranes by Ka due to them removing Scream Machine, since it's right next door

Just checked the Great Adv. site and sure enough, "Kingda Ka is temporarily closed."

Hopefully temporarily means it will be back up soon...

You are correct. Hopefully it will only be closed a few days.

The one crane is for KK but its not anything serious I heard. Should be up by the end of the weekend if everything goes smoothly...but you know this is Six Flags. The only thing they are good at is demolishing rides!

Not aware of any "serious" issues with Ka.  And I know in the last 3 years they have done a mid-season downtime for a full inspection of the ride to make sure things are working as they should.

So with no known incident and the fact that the ride has be amazingly reliable this season, I'd say this is nothing major.

Haha, yeah... You have to wonder just how "temporary" it will actually be.  A few days would be awesome!  I know it's a high-maintenance ride so it's not surprising, just hope they can get in there and get it open again without any further issues!

It is the annual scheduled maintenance Smiley. Look for Ka to be back open on Friday sometime.

That's odd, just rode Tuesday night.  30 min wait time with 4 trains running.

Why wouldn't I.  Need to get those final laps in before they tear it down. Sad
