Matthew Eckert, 37, was driving a 2004 Honda SUV south on Indiana 162 when his vehicle was struck by a school bus in front of Nancy Hanks Elementary School.

Eckert was transported from the accident scene by Lifeflight helicopter. According to an accident report released by the Spencer County Sheriff's Department, Eckert suffered head, arm and chest injuries.

"It was a rough wreck," said Holiday World spokeswoman Paula Werne. She described Eckert as "a wonderful, wonderful man" and said the crash "has shaken us to our core."...

Thanks for the prayers and concerns for GM Matt. The hospital continues to list him as "critical but stable." His family would like us to pass along that Matt is improving. We're very grateful to receive this news.
