Hey guys, reporting from my hotel room here in Sandusky Ohio. My two friends and I went to Cedar Point yesterday for their opening day and I just wanted to share some pictures I took with you all. The pictures are pretty crappy which reflects how the weather has been here all weekend. Luckily it didn't rain at all opening day, just a short 10 minute drizzle in the afternoon.

Surprisingly Mean Streak was not rough at all! It was nowhere near as bad as I remember it. We actually rode it twice in a row because it was tolerable. The first time we rode in the back, then up front, which was shockingly more rough.

To no surprise, Millennium Force was AMAZING. I know a lot of you don't care for MF, but it was just as good as I remember. I won't say anything else on this topic because I don't want to start any arguments  Wink

Here are some pictures

yes, lovely weather!

still not sure whether I like the double or single twisted spikes

Maverick was awesome!

OMGOMG

Better first drop than I305 IMO

It was this foggy the entire day

fog or mist?

New for 2011, invisible cloak on Top Thrill Dragster

Arrow goodness

It was actually kind of fun. Still a boring layout, but fun.

Still #1

Was that your first time on Maverick? I think I remember you saying you hadn't been on it before... These pictures are making me more excited for September. Was TTD open in the fog like that? That would've made for some sick rides.
Glad and not surprised to hear you thought MF was running well, I hope in one of my visits it will eventually blow me away, I always give it at least once chance per visit.

Your trip report differs big time from the ones on tpr. Sounded like CP wasn't really ready this year?

^ Tpr is for looking at photo's, not reading!   As Chuck D from Public Enemy would say   "Don't believe the Hype!"

TPR tends to be Intamin Whores... They always praise TTD and MF even thought they are the epitome of "one-trick ponies"

Regardless of what was open and what wasn't, I had a great time. Cedar Point is my favorite amusement park and I had a great time to just be there.

Rob, no this was not my first time on Maverick. My first time was  back in 2009. I certainly forgot how insane that first drop was, so my first ride on it this year was a big surprise. I rode in the back row and had my hands up. I lost my voice from yelling so much, especially from Maverick. lol

Yes, they did run TTD in the fog, although I did not get to ride it. The second picture of TTD was right when we got there in the morning when the fog was the strongest, so when it finally opened it was less dense like the picture by the logo and entrance. Still, it must have been crazy in that fog!

I rode it in fog... It's so cool dropping and not seeing the ground!

That's because the people from TPR... well their opinions don't matter.

That sums up their Trip Reports... Some good pictures, very bad commentary.
