This Sunday coming up Clementon is open until 10 pm. I'm planning on heading up there around 5 or 6 with my girlfriend Melissa... Chuck is going to come with us too. I talked to Bubba and pcman/Tom and they want to go too.
Wade, I know you live near by, it would be great if you came too... after 4 p.m. it's only $21.95 and there are buy one get one free coupons all over so it's only $11. The park needs more guests and this will be a great way for a bunch of us to enjoy an awesome ride (night rides). Let us know if you can join us!

I think I can make it but it probably wouldn't be until around 7 since we have plans earlier in the day. Does that screw us up with the buy one/get one deal?

If for some reason the park decides to close... (which happens a lot) I'll probably end up going to Ocean City Boardwalk or GADV... I will call the park on Sunday afternoon and I will give who ever was planning on going a call and let them know if it's closed. If you don't hear from me, it's open.

I have never ever been on J2 or have gone to Clementon for that matter, anybody got directions how to get there?

Robb, most of us won't be there until after 5 p.m. Have you ever been there? You really only need about 2 hours there if you want to ride all of the rides. I really plan on just riding J2 all night, maybe the Chaos if it's still there since I haven't ridden one in a looong time. Oh, and I promised Bubba we would have a "romantic getaway" on the train :)
As for directions... I'm not sure exactly, just find a way to get to route 42 (AC Expressway) I dont know... Tom would know better.

Just stay on the Turnpike since that takes you pretty much into Glassboro or whatever the town is down there.

It's an aggressive ride, very violent in the back... you have to kind of get used to it and not judge it on your first ride. They also have this law where you have to be over 21 to ride in the back row, but they rarely enforce it.

LOL, Yes... you never noticed? You get one right before you crest the top, one as you crest the top, and one big slam into the lap bar as you go down... it's most noticeable in the very back row, right hand seat. You'll see ;)

Intresting, I know right now the Cyclone is my local favorite, i will consider Clementon Local as it's a small park! Its a category I made up on my own....Actually BD over Cyclone...We should attempt an Astroland meetup later in the year, the round up is worth it Alone

Yes I like the right seats especially in the very tight helix
also you can see the Philly Skyline at the top of the lift.
Philly is about 10-12 airmiles from the park
I used to swim in that lake almost everyday
I need to find pictures
(the park had swimming diving boards,sliding boards etc. when i was young)
also fireworks every friday night hard to believe nowadays

Thanks its about time I actualy posted something with this account.
Oh and on Monday the last car of J2 was closed and I think it will most likely be closed again this weekend. But the front row is the smoothest so I dont know who would want to ride in the back anyway. Ill post and update on J2 here on Saturday night around 11pm. And yes I am supposed to be the op on J2 from 11:45am-10pm on Sunday.

I was there with Virtual Hospital and needed to be 21 to ride the back seat
and most of the people was with kids so the ride op let me ride the back like 6-7 times in a row.
as long as no one was waiting a few time i just jumped out and back it another seat.
I was there the day before with the Ero Coaster club or was it ACE so he remembered me.

got to get to sleep
need to wake up in 4.5 hours

Chris, I'm sure youre not allowed to tell too much about the park, or if you even know what's going on, but whatsup with this years schedule? A lot of buyouts scheduled? I'm just curious. Also, has the park had anyone looking at purchasing it?

The 21 year old rule for the back row was only for the 2005 season. And J2 is running the blue train this year.
The only big difference in the schedule this year is that the park is not open Thursdays in June. Other then that all the days we are closed in July and August are buyouts. I know nothing about anyone looking to purchase the park at this time.

I was there that night! I know the guy in line with the blue shirt.. he used to be a supervisor at GADV then he was a manager at Funtown Pier in Seaside... the guy next to him facing the other way is my friend Ed. That was a fun night.

Tom, I also grew up with the park (I REALLY miss the Whip :'( ) and the Jackrabbit was also my first coaster. And back in the early 50's, it was also my mom's first coaster. She grew up in Audubon like me.

Yes when I was young the park was free to get in and this was the Side Entrance near where the Water Dam is.
that was the Entrance I always walked in
I played Pinball all Day in that arcade 10 cents a game or 3 games for a quarter \
and the really old Pinball for 5 cents

Somehow we all ended up with the same day off.
OK, I misread the coupons before guys, Buy One Get One only works in July and August... so we get the $8 off the admission which is 21.95 minus 8... $14... I hope this doesn't affect anyone's day :)

Just to let everyone know the line for J2 can close as early as 9:30pm but it should stay open until atleast 9:50pm if there is no line. Don't yell at me its not my decision.

Chaos was open today, and I also saw J2 cycling empty trains. The water park was packed but what do you expect when it's 92 degrees out.

The back row is so good because you get sick air going over the first drop, going over and down the 2nd hill and the ride itself is just so much more intenese/violent back there. It's good stuff.

Why not? If you don't and it's nice out, you'll regret it if you dont. The parking lot is really close to the ride and you can just walk to the car to get it or drop it off without wasting any time.

J2/ Tsunami looks way to rough for me after watching that video on TRL. I do however love the 2 million dollar log flume built by Intamin. Maybe I'll just go ride some flats and meet up with you guys over near the queue.

I woudln't be so sure yet. Looking at Accuweather from our link above it still appears to be just possible thunderstorms. Looks like early morning around 7-8ish and late afternoon are the best chance.

I'll decide what Melissa, Matt and I are doing by the end of the night. Matt wants to go to HP really bad, but he gets in for free to both parks since he's a SF employee... I have to pay for park entry fee either way, so I'm not sure yet.

The fireworks looked pretty good. I was watching them from the J2 station. J2 opened a little late today but that was planned. Chaos was open yesterday but did not open today (what a suprise!). And falling star closed at 4pm. And I have not seen the bear show yet but I do know it involves the bears riding motorcycles.

They do try and reopen rides if it looks like the rain will not last that long. But if it looks like it will last a lot longer they will close for the day. If the rides close due to weather DO NOT leave the park. Wait for them to make an announcement that the park is closing for the day. This way you will be able to recieve a rain check to come back for free another day.

I know this is far in advance, but does July 9th (a Monday) sound good? I have work until 5, but can be at the park around 6:30 or 7 easily. If not that day, maybe the Friday that week too (the 13th). I know Wade will be back by the 8th so this might work out. If this can work with everyone, I say let's get this ball rolling again!!

They decided today to put the red train on and take off the blue. For no reason at all besides the owner thinks red is better when really they are the same. This change is supposed to happen in about 2 weeks. I don't think there will be any downtime.

Matt didn't like Wildcat so I don't know if he will like J2. I personally love Wildcat now so we will see how it goes. I can withstand a beating to a point. I will just bring some Motrin.

I am working 11am-10pm on Friday and most likely will be the lead on J2 (sometimes they put me on the log flume).
Some of you will love this ride and for others this ride will kick their a--. Front row is the smoothest if you can't handle it.

Notes for friday-
-Park is open noon-10pm
-Water Park is open noon-8pm (free with admission)
-It is cheaper to get in after 5pm
-Coupons are avaliable at wawa, McDonalds, and a lot of other places in the area including across from the park at cvs.
-If the main lot is full or just looks like there is a lot of cars in it park across the street in the reserve lot. This way you wont get stuck in the almost daily parking lot traffic jam at closing.
-Parking is free
-You can bring food and beverages in the park. No alcohol.
-I believe there are 2 bear shows on Fridays. I will post the times later.

If you go and the park closes early do not leave the park until you are handed a rain check. They give them out at the exit gate but sometimes they do not start handing them out right away!

Clementon meetup is once again postponed! Do NOT come to the park tomorrow if you want to ride J2. There is a 90% chance J2 will NOT be open tomorrow. Today was its first day all season being closed and I am sorry to say it will probably be closed for a few more days. I apologize for the late notice but I could not get to a computer until now.

Just to clear some things up there were no accidents or problems with the train. We are just trying to make the ride smoother. It was getting really rough and we had to do something about it in certain spots.

No they will just smooth out the track that is already on the ride. All the work is being done by the J2 mechanics. They did a pretty good job smoothing out the helix earlier this year so they should make the ride a lot better.

Thats a shame they have to do that so much on such a new ride. But my back is now glad they happen to shut it down for work right before we were going there lol.

Avalanche in the Dells was having some "track" issues this off season too, and they re-profiled one of the turns... I'm hearing now that the ending of the ride isn't so severe and the hills are more "floating" air time than "kick you out of your seat" air time. So we aren't the only S&S Wood with problems. They were both very poorly designed.
I'm guessing they are thinking of adding trims to it :(

It would certainly be a shame if they did that... I wonder where they'd go if they got installed??? I'm guessing they'd go right before the headchopping drop into the helix since that's the only flat section of track on the entire coaster.
I'm sure Intamin pre-feb track would be good for the ride, (less maint) but that would really take some intensity away from the ride, and be much more costly to actually "convert" it to the new track.

Do they let you reride at Clementon? I always heard from people that they had to walk around even when the station was empty.

WHen me and Bubbs was there after about 9pm it was almost a walkon.
THere was also some younger local ACE members there
and we kept shouting reride since no one was waiting inline.
The opps said yes if no one is in line and if everyone was enthusiastic and clapping.
So that got us clapping and chanting more and more to get rerides.
it was like a mini ERT

it was fun :D
Go late in the day and stay till closing thats when the line is a walkon
Monday night should be good
I got the last ride of the night and we kept chanting one more ride and they finally gave in and let us go again.
Next time I'm in the park I will be heading into the office to compliment the crew on their enthusiast work.
