Moreys Wild Woodie @ Wildwood New for 2013 ?
What: New Wooden Coaster
Where: Moreys Pier and Hunts pier Wildwood,NJ
When: 2013
Why: because it's fun
It will Begin on Morys pier dive under the pier cross over the beach on a cable stay bridge onto hunts pier and travel back to hunts.Part of the coaster to be built in the location of the Golden Nugget Mine train coaster which will be torn down (track and trains bought up by Knoebels).
possible name that was brought up by Morys

Wild Woodie could be a fitting name provided it turns out to be a wild ride and not another watered down GCI.

If the drop under the pier and bunny hops on the bridge look the way they do and may be a good ride only time will tell

I'm sure it will be a zippy ride, but it's looking like a typical GCI design to me, so that will mean *some* good pops of air, but mostly a lot of floaty (at best) hills and sweeping curves with little punch. I just wish GCI would make their hills more aggressive like TGG's and not blend them into the overly-banked turns so much. I'd love to see TGG reprofile that layout.

I think this coaster looks amazing so far. It seems like it will be pretty aggressive too.

We had some problems at first with it being at 640 and still causing scroll bars in the forum windows, so I made the pictures scale a little smaller. I'll take a look at it and see if that's still the case.

The layout looks promising, but they should make the profile a little more aggressive to give it punch. Perfect example is the first drop. As is, it will hardly have any kick to it (just like all GCI first drops), but if they tighten it up like Cornball Express' first drop, it could be one of the most exciting first drops ever for backseat riders. That's the difference between the aggressive style of The Gravity Group and the zippy, fluid style of Great Coasters International. Why make a new woodie unless it's going to be vastly better over the current one (and I happen to love Great White by the way)?

Yes
the location on the beach between the two piers is owned by SAMS Pizza.
All store owners on the boardwalk own part of the beach in front of their store (as I'm told).
this is the location of the Bridge
the 4th picture from the bottom on the right you can see Sams pizza.
If they name this coaster WildWoodie it better be WILD

I never knew the businesses owned part of the beach.
Will or Jack Morey mentioned (during Coasten by Ocean ) they had to get permission to use that part of the beach from Sams pizza,he said businesses own whats in front of them.I don't know how far onto the beach ? I also never knew this before he mentioned it.
I haven't played flippers in years and will make it a point to next time in Wildwood to do just that play

I'm slowly working on a NoLimits recreation of this ride and I just noticed something.... The renderings do not match the model. It seems the layout has changed a bit from those original renderings. Some of the turns are reversed and the alignment of the first drop with the pier and the bridge are different. Just an FYI in case anyone cares. ;) Now I don't know how to go about the underground portions since I can't trust the renderings anymore. I'm anxious for more details to be released. Considering the drop only goes 15 feet below the surface of the pier (based on the original stats which could be void now too), there isn't really any room for bunny hops down there, ala Hades like I hoped, but I hope they work some in. This ride has so much potential!

No and looks like we may not have a update/details until Coasten by the Ocean in July.
I already got my room at the White star Motel for that weekend they r giving us 10% off around $104 2 double beds,pool,middle of wildwood less then 1 block from the boardwalk

"Well what most people don't know is that Morey's Piers consists of 4 piers. Two piers have intense rides, 1 has less intense rides and the final is where you will find our maintenance buildings. This is where a section of the new coaster will be placed. As you know we took out Giant Slide and Golf Course this year and we have moved Dante's Dungeon and Rock N Roll. This is where the new wooden coaster will start. It will jump from Surfside Pier to our maintenance pier twice. There will also be some left over room for future development. Construction on the new wooden coaster will begin in September 2011 and it will open in 2013."

You need to go back and try the SLC if you didn't ride last year. It's much better now :).

I personally cannot wait for this new coaster. I've been goin to moreys since before I even knew of six flags infact before I could even talk. Rode my first coaster there (doo whopper:) ) and even remember ridin that dinosaur dark ride on dinosaur beach. So I absolutely cannot wait for this coaster!!!

If you mean Golden Nugget the thing got sent out to Knoebel's. Morey even said Knoebel's was perfect for the ride because they know how to take good care of their rides. GO KNOEBEL'S!!!

Tom was that you in 223? We were the fam next door in 224. What an event, huh? From what I hear it just gets better every year. We've been ACE members since 99 but this was our first enthusiast event in 7 years...great to go again. We liked the white star as well...can't beat the location! Could have done without the one group though...gees they just were so loud and all over the place....but well still stay there again. R u still there? Nice to meet you!

Me my Wife and my 2 sisters they stayed till Monday afternoon (sisters)
I had to leave Monday AM to install Tie Rod ends in my wife's Car while they went to the pool and beach(a day off and had to work)
this is the 4th year going to this event and the 3rd year at the White Star
not as many people this year about 100
last year it was about 200 people and $20 less and No "on the drawing board with Will and Jack Morey" this year maybe because of the "accident"
We even had about 8 less people in our group not go this year and other friends didn't make it this year.still a great deal just with the rides and unlimited "Extreme rides"
But next year and 2013 we will see an uptick I will be at the same hotel I may even do a Friday Night Beach Camp out then Sat and Sun Nights at the Motel.
Also this year they didn't have as many door prizes as last year
We are still looking at 2013 opening of the New Coaster and construction during next year
I even mentioned the Lindsy and Dino that a Construction tour next year would be a great addition
