Title: 2012 Coaster Laps
Post by: dkny6363 on August 02, 2012, 08:55:18 PM
Haven't been riding too much this year. By this point in a normal year I would have been on at least one trip possibly two. All my riding has been home park riding. Add to that half the time I go it's a family day I usually only get a lap or two those days.

Total coaster Laps: 25
Most for 1 ride: 10 (leviathan)
Total Parks: 1

Soon to be 3. Despite both being parks I've been to i'm likely adding 3-4 credits! not too bad. Skyrush, Black Diamond, kozmos kurves, and possibly roller soaker... who knows maybe a little flying turns ;)

I'm probably not adding a boat load of creds until around 2014. My 2013 trips are all looking like repeats as well. Holiwood nights, PPP, Possibly the Point.

How many laps, and parks have the rest of you got? So I can be jealous.

I'll have to add things up when I'm not posting from my phone but I can say I've been to Disney World during a business trip in February, Moreys in June for a weekend, Hershey just 2 weeks ago and probably 7 visits to Great Adventure.

Honestly, it's been a rather light year for me since I backed off the business travel.

It's funny you mention how the home park visits usually don't involve many coaster rides. On our family trips I'm lucky if I get in 1 or 2 big rides in lol

yeah its like you feel guilty running off to ride big rides.. My trip usually end up with one kiddie coaster, and 1 Leviathan or Behemoth.

I'm guessing if I were in your shoes it would be a blackbeards, and an El Toro, or perhaps a Nitro.

Edit: recounted and im at 26 laps. (missed my dragon fyre lap)

Great Adventure x3
Hersheypark
Knoebels
Moreys Piers
Kings Dominion x4

Still a possibility that I could be going to BGW in a few days, and I also have SFA in the scopes at some point, too.

Absolutely no clue how many laps I have, but I believe it totals about 20 miles for one circuit on every coaster I've ridden.

Laps I honestly don't count, I don't really do the power riding anymore unless it's The Voyage or Boulder Dash or The Legend.

Parks though...
Holiday World
Kings Islands
Kinds Dominion
Morey's Piers
Keansburg
Knoebels
Six Flags America
Dorney
Luna Park and Scream Zone (Coney)
I think that's it. I'll be at The Magic Kingdom this Friday coming up for a couple hours. I'd like to hit Quassy to ride the Wooden Warrior and The Lake for BD sometime soon and maybe Hershey. Besides that my park visits will be limited to just PPP. I'm not going to get to The Great Adventure this season as I have no real draw there anymore and don't want to dish out parking funds.

I love counting laps for some reason.. I keep track on coaster grotto. Every coaster I startes riding since 2007 is 100% accurate. The only ones im not sure about are darien lake and old wonderland ones from my teen years. I think I rode predator 17 times in a row one day. I guessed 45 laps total. Only recently did behemoth pass it for my most riden coaster.

What would you all guess your most riddin coaster is and how many laps? as a guess.....

I wish I had more than one home park like alot of you seem to have. My secondary options are sooo weak. I got darien lake which for the most part has nothing wonderland doesnt have. Also its about 2 hrs from me. Not worth a seasons pass. I also got martins and marineland but again not really seasons pass material. I think I have to get out to martins again this year. Give that mediocre comet another go around.

My home parks are pretty much King's Dominion and Six Flags America now, Great Adventure is pretty loose considering I still visit often.

The ride that I probably have the most laps on is Nitro, how many I honestly couldn't hasten a guess.

That proves how crap SFA is... its one of your two home parks and you haven't been once. I wish I lived closer to secondary parks.

I actually like going to SFA as long as its dead, which is usually the case.

SFA has really turned it around though, at least I don't have to worry about getting shot when I do end up going. A lot of their rides need paint though, big time.

I'm just tired of the one train ops when I go.

It was my intent all alone to turn my coaster laps thread into a SFA train ops thread... lol just kidding.

But seriously on the topic. Whats better SFA or Darien Lake? and even more to the point superman or ride of steel??? hmmmmm

Clearly SFA has a better coaster line up... or do they???

I used to count Timber Wolf and Adventureland's Tornado when I was young. I'd estimate Timber Wolf to be around 250 laps to date and Tornado around 175. I probably have about 100 laps on Voyage and Boulder Dash as well.

I don't have the numbers in front of me so these are rough guesses, but our top 5 lifetime laps would be...

Boulder Dash - 3,600
Rolling Thunder - 3,500

Montu - 980
Possessed - 950
Nitro - 800

I'm not the only one that doesn't think El Bullo is all that.

Geez Sue. That's amazing lol. And further proof that riding coasters is not harmful to our health :).

Wade is your coaster counter new.. I never noticed you had one before.. Glad to see im not the only one with less than 300 coasters under my belt. 200 for that matter. Last year some of the new coasters weren't on there. Like wooden Warrior... forget what other ones. Anyone know if its updated?

I just checked... its not updated. No coasters from the past two years are on there.

Go use coastercounter, it's at least user supported so a new coaster is put up every once in a while. If you're one of the "duelies count as one" people you might want to just check one of the two coasters in question, if not just go about your coaster count.

By the way I haven't seen the coasterfanatics sig banners in well over 2 years...

It was my first wooden coaster so it's special to me.  Back before it had seatbelts and had good operations, we rode about 500 times a year.  Although we do still like it, we barely make 10 rides a  year.  The dispatch times just make it impossible!

Thanks for the tip B-Mac.

I'll check that out as well. My numbers are much higher but I stopped updating it and many newer rides weren't on it.
