ACE preservation Conference August 4th 2007
« on: May 07, 2007, 08:35:12 PM »

This is the one that Bruce hops into his car, and next stop is Freehold NJ. If I arrive early enough, I might head down to Seaside Heights. I will have to see how the timing and the logstics are for that trip.

Bruce.....................................

PS Yes I need the back way directions to Seaside. I think it starts at RT 33

Bruce, I live right across the bridge from Seaside Heights. Rt. 37 leads your right into Seaside coming over from Toms River, if you have any questions just ask!

Thanks Chuck :-)  There is a quick way from Freehold that gets me to that area in about 40 minutes using back roads. I remember it involved 33 for one exit, then it was all back roads until the bridge. I think that I'm starting on RT 537 in Freehold to RT 33 . I did it about 2 years ago, but my memory fails me to what the roads that I took there.

Looks like route 9 is a beeline to from freehold to Seaside

Route 33 to   in Freehold
Route 9  19 miles
turns into route 166
left on route 37    6 miles to beach

try this map with directions CLICK REFRESH A FEW TIMES IF IT DOESN'T COME UP (I had to refresh 4 times)

http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=0myy2kf5

I don't know this area so Chuck could give you info on congestion and traffic or alternet routes

That might have been it PCMAN. The one thing that stands out in my mind is driving by the Lakehurst Naval station front gate , and taking a right at the Big Liquor store. Thanks for the directions, I will check them out right now.

In that case Bruce you would have taken 537 to 571 and made a right at Ridgeway Liquors. Lakehurst is on the right and you made a left onto Route 70 at the light and verred off onto Route 37 after the railroad bridge.
Prepare to weather the storm!

At one point I will have to buy a Garmin. I like that Google maps though. My phone plan charges me a arm and a leg for connecting to the Internet. I think that the next Gen Cell phones will offer GPS as a service like texting. Thanks PCMAN :-)

Darkridedar that sounds directions that I was given 2 years ago. It was also a straight drive into Seaside Chuck. I think that you guys got the exact route that I took. I definitely want to get to Seaside on this visit.

Thanks
