2008 - ???
« on: August 29, 2007, 04:14:01 PM »
This is the time of year we start wondering what the park will do next season?
So what will Six Flags be up to in 2008?

I think it would be nice to see the park use the Nintendo partnership for some kind of themed ride.
I don't know if their agreement would allow this, but imagine a Donkey Kong or Mario themed ride.

No more Batman themed rides and no more Kid Sections please.

I'd even go for another year off without expansion if it meant another season like 2007!

Any other ideas other than "Something Spicy"?

No more Batman themed rides ?  :-\   Not even using other charactors from the Batman francise?

Me thinks we'll see some Movie Town action.   IMO, this area is due for a massive makeover  ;D

Well as I walked through this area yesterday  ( No no TR yet )I did make the observation on how quiet it was over there . From the music express to BTR there were no rides open. B&RTC as well as water effect were both closed . Now without FF :( and with no show in the arena it is extreamly dead in that area. Even if we got no new rides we need to do something in that area. There aren't even people walking over there anymore. I don't even think there was a show in the other arena / theater either was there?? I would love to see something along the lines of a pandamunium over there maybe like the one in WDW 'S AK . There could be a people muncher if it was run the right way.  I guess we will have to wait and see.

I agree, a revamp of the whole Movie Town area will be great. Who knows what they got planned for next year!

Lets get a count
anyone know ?

I here something in St louis

and this from todays screamscape

2008 - New Attractions, Great Adventure - Rumor - (8/31/07) The latest rumor indicates that some kind of family sized coaster may be on the way next season. I suppose this could be either a spinning style coaster like Tony Hawk, or perhaps something as simple as a Wild Mouse. Anyone know more?

The only park I've heard of getting any new coasters was the rumors that were the same as what Tom posted.

Maybe they are going to install the "relocated" coasters that they took from AstroWorld?

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

What is left from AW and are they worth the time and the money to maintain them?

Great Escape has an SLC that could be worth opening for that park. SFA has Ultra Twister which would be great if they could get it running right. I'm not really sure what else is still SF, since DL has the stand-up coaster.

Hmmm, It wouldnt surprise me to see the SLC go up, I thought that the bobsleds at Great escape were being removed for the SLC they have being stored...It was probably a rumor  :-\

Im sure these AW rides will be erected, if not this offseason, then probably next....

Now a tony hawk where FF was would be nice or in that area anyway .

I think some of us will be heartbroken next season but I believe the park will grow stronger and become more of a travel destination rather than attraction.

If he's talking about Chiller breaking my heart,  At this point I really don't care if they take it out. It's been a headache for everyone involved from the start.

I'm pretty sure the new Six Flags announced that the hotel was put on a cold back burner soon after the takeover.

I would love to try and summarize it Clint.

I believe that Chiller will be going. Now what is going in that area...I surely don't know.

Quote
2008 - New Attractions - Rumor - (9/12/07) The latest buzz over the rumored Dark Knight indoor coaster rumor are quite interesting to say the least. We?ve been hearing on and off how it may be a spinning coaster and others saying it wont be, and we think we have the solution to the question now. Before Mack?s spinning coaster opened at Knott?s this past summer Mack?s first version of that same ride system was the EuroMIR which features the same cars, but all of the spinning movement is controlled by the ride to allow the riders to face whatever direction they want at that moment and then lock back into place for the coaster segments.

LOL dont go by screamscape (trust me on that ) . They should make a dark ride based on zelda. That would draw sucha crowd to the park.

I am scared that all we will see is a wild mouse coaster that uses the building of chiller for the que. I am really hoping they don't do that. I would rather them work on a dark ride for two years in the chillers spot then just get a wild mouse.

A dark ride would be perfect(even a wild mouse inside that is themed is better then an outside standard wild mouse). It would be a third ride that is indoors that can be ridden if it rains and helps get more rides for the inbetweeners and people who are scared of the big coasters.
