Kingda Ka Discovery Channel TV-Shoot 10/25/07

Well, the day started off very wet. I went to school a bit worried, after my last class, my mom picked me up and we drove straight to GA. We got there at around 12:45pm, making perfect time. I'm not going to get into to detail. But we got at least 15 rides on Kingda Ka. There were 3 rollbacks, but none for us. The first 7 rides were in the rain. And for the few who rode in the front row (myself included) in the rain, we all know why they don't operate this ride with even the slightest amount of rain.

So we were a bit nervous about riding in the rain, and debating if this was a good idea.

We barely filled two trains. Which was great!

This camera ended up causing some problems later on.


JR, Ira, Me, Brenda, and Adam. After this, the camera broke so there are no more pictures from me. But we ended up being finished at 7:15pm, over and hour than we were supposed to be there!

I also want to give a special thanks to Wade for getting me in, being I had no luck with ACE (I've learned to now check my e-mails more than once a day!)

Nice pictures Dainan.  Glad somebody had a camera since I didn't have mine And fortunately I somehow managed to avoid nearly all of your photos lol

It was a fantastic day all things considered.  And I really don't think enthusiasts across the country realize just how awesome of a park Gadv is.  For being a corporate park, they truly do have amazing individuals that keep the place running that sincerely care (obviously, so do other corp parks!).  The Kingda Ka crew (all 25 of them I think lol) are outstanding.  Everybody from supes to ops to maintenance were professional, fun and courteous in what had to be some of the worst operating conditions that ride could ask for.

I for one am really looking forward to this show after knowing how deep they dove into the inner-workings of Ka.  And the host Matt Rogers was actually very funny and approachable.  It should be a great show.

AND YES, Ka in the front HURTS in the rain!!!  Think of lots of razor blades slashing at your face.  My lips are hurting just thinking about it lol

yes the front seat in the rain is like water acupuncture
luckily i had my safety glasses on which helped alot but my lips were numb for about 15 minutes 

And as Wade said thanks to all the great people at Great Adventure they made a dreary day into a "Sunny day"   
ANd thanks to our NJ ACE reps. Adam and Bret you guys are ding a great job. Keep up the good work.
And the Discovery Channel crew and "David Blaine"  looks like they had just as much fun.
