Xbox Motion Controller - Project Natal

Xbox Motion Controller - No controller
use your body as a controller this could be used for computer input and other human interfaces, very cool

Microsoft on Monday unveiled a motion-based controller for its Xbox 360 entertainment console, and the system — which Redmond has dubbed Project Natal  promises to take interactive gaming well beyond today’s current state of the art embodied by the Nintendo Wii.

Unlike the Wii, which relies on physical sensors that players must physically hold or touch in some other way, Project Natal uses an array of technologies to “read” from afar players’ movements and even, according to Microsoft, gauge their emotional states.

I saw that on G4's E3 coverage, and I want it.  Wii Motion Plus is looking quite sexy as well.

It worked that well in the live demo on stage at E3.  I'm simply in awe of the whole package.  Facial recognition that can automatically log you on, voice recognition so sophisticated that it can tell who is talking to the game and who is simply in the background and ignore them, keeps track of multiple people.  It's simply awesome.

What I want to see is how well it will work in different lighting conditions.

Its got infared for the body motion detection so it won't matter Mike. ;) The RGB camera is mostly for facial recognition.

hmm interesting, I originally thought that it had 2 RGB cameras for 3D detection.  I just might get a 360 for this, depending on the cost.
