I saw this on Screamscape and even copied the image from there out of fear it will be removed. So take this with a huge grain of salt. However, something for sure has been in the works for Florida for some time now and with the economy down, it would actually be a good time to perform these upgrades.

Anyway, take a look! If they even do HALF of this, I'll be very happy

. While I'm at it, according to Screamscape (again lol), Beastly Kingdom is back on the table. Although it may be a single attraction similar to Expedition Everest but the rumors seem to point to a clone of Journey to the Center of the Earth from Tokyo. That would rock! Anyway, wishful thinking but Animal Kingdom would surely be a full-fledge park at that point.

Sounds pretty cool! I didn't know the new Mermaid ride was supposed to be similar to the Haunted Mansion. That's awesome!

Now if only they would follow though on the Dueling Dragons idea or possibly a killer suspended coaster along the lines of Big Bad Wolf! Now that has Disney written all over it!

Not to change the topic but with the FastPass thing in that same article..

I agree that free FastPass tickets was probably never the best idea (although I used it constantly in 2005), but I'm not sure of the wording in that article. Does that mean that -only- people staying in the park could get a FastPass, and anyone else is back to standing in lines? Can I pay $$$ to get myself a FastPass even if I don't stay in the park?

That's what we did at Universal, $30/person, in 2005 and it was great. (Does Universal still do that?). I'd do that at Disney, as well. But not having the option at all would be kind of bleh :/

Its all speculation right now so who knows. What he was saying is that only onsite guests would get fastpasses. On the flipside, this would in fact lower the wait time for the standby lines so its a win win. I personally don't see disney offering it as a upgrade purchase though. They don't usually seem to do things like that.

I'm in total complete shock that not only were the "leaked" plans real but that they are REALLY doing this! Being the insane Disney fan that I am, well..., let's just say I'm happy

so this is just an expansion and theyre not actually taking over any other sections of the park? I wanna see the layout along with the rest of the old park, its not making any sense to me in that rendering

They are redoing and expanding Fantasyland (basically everything behind the castle between Frontierland and Tomorrowland.

Check all those links guys. Area left of the castle remains the same. From the courtyard all the way to toontown and then waaaay back to reclaim the old 20k site is being razed.

Oops, important detail. Yes, the good part of Fantasyland is staying the same.

I'm so excited for the Little Mermaid ride. Now if only they would build me a Mary Poppins ride.
