Greatest park you've been to.
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:18:13 PM »
Alright, curiosity got the best of me. What was the greatest park you've ever been to?

Personally, mine would have to be Busch gardens Williamsburg. Great people, Great food, Great shows, Incredible rides (though I don't agree with BBW being removed), and the park is always clean.

Disneyland and Busch Gardens Europe are my too favoritest theme parks. Then there's Knoebels and Kennywood for bestest traditional parks. :)

I must qualify BGE though... I love Big Bad Wolf more than just about any steel coaster. It's going to be hard to appreciate BGE without it.

Kennywood and its eclectic ride collection, iconic buildings, great food and historical significance is my favorite amusement park. I like their many modern thrill rides like Aero360, King Kahuna, Pitt Fall and Phantom's Revenge. There's plenty of standard rides like Pittsburg Plunge, Log Flume, Musik Express, Waveswinger, bumper cars and Exterminator and classics like Bayern Kurve, Auto Race, the train and Jack Rabbit. Everytime I go, I see rides that I forget are there, but I know I love them. The under-the-cover of trees and lagoon-shaped areas add allot to the park's atmosphere. The dark rides are the icing on the cake. I love Noah's Ark!

Six Flags Great America is my favorite corporate coaster park. It's mildly-themed areas are somewhat reminiscent of Disneyland. It has the largest and greatest collection of flat rides I've ever experienced and many like a calypso, monster spin, enterprise, frisbee, fly away, troika and condor are my favorites. Their well-balanced coaster collection includes a spinning mouse, an indoor standard mouse, a wooden racer and a Schwarzkopf speed coaster alongside an impulse, a B&M flyer, a B&M hyper and a great recreation of the Coney Island Cyclone. They have 4 water rides plus a free water park!

Epcot is my favorite theme park and Disneyland is my favorite overall park.

Sea World Orlando!  Shamu makes me cry every time I go. I love that park for it's sea life and the new B&M.  In fact,  you can add the other two Busch parks as well. BGE and BGA. The beauty of all three parks are truly amazing.

I also enjoy Dollywood during Christmas time!  Kennywood and Rye for Charm.  Cedar point and Great Adventure for good times. Indiana Beach and Morey's for a classic beach feel. And last but not least , Knoebels for food and PPP.

But ...If it had to be one, it goes to that Killer Whale !!!  I could watch that show 4 times a day.

Best year round theme park, Disneyland, by far.

Best beachfront park, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which I dearly love...particularly the Giant Dipper and the general atmosphere.

Best traditional amusement park, Knoebel's.  I love everything about Knoebel's as a whole.  Even though neither of the wooden coasters there is among my very favorites, the general atmosphere, the grove, the food, the wonderful family that owns the park and the Phlyers! :)

Best seasonal theme park?  Great Adventure.  And yes, I mean that.  Something about that place in Ohio that so many love just leaves me...cold.  A plastic, all too perfect experience (that some associate Disney with).  Every trip to Great Adventure is just that...a great adventure!  As my good friend Steve Urbanowicz used to point out, the park is a great circus, where at any given moment anything might well happen...it has a vibe and a wonderfulness that I just don't get at that place in Ohio! :)

Universal's Islands of Adventure.  It's got the theming of Disney, which I love dearly, with the thrills of Six Flags, which I definitely love as well.  If I made a theme park myself, IoA would be what came out.

^I would rank BBW as one of my top twenty rides ever been on. The theming for that ride was incredible and it got even better at night and with it's age.

I did say that,  didn't I.  Haha.    With my luck they keep the coaster. ;)
