Disney debuts do-it-yourself thrill ride

I'm so doing this when I'm down there in two months.

^ Pretty much, except the simulator is going to be attached to a robotic arm.

Yes, but cyber space mountain is your typical simulator while this is on the end of a kuka robot. Which is awesome!  It's the same technology being used on the new harry potter ride and is also being used on the nemo ride's angler fish at Epcot. These things are amazing!

It would suck if you got stuck upside down. wouldn't be as bad as a roller coaster getting stuck, but it will still suck.

Those restraints look heavy duty. Not sure I could be totally enclosed like that.

Thanks to Dainan, we luckily got to experience Sum of All Thrills during the tech rehearsal this past Wednesday without a wait!

When you enter they give you a plastic card card that is used to have your design follow you from the design table to the ride. You first you pick your vehicle type (bobsled, coaster, or jet).  Then you move on to laying out your ride on the touch table.  The design touch table is pretty fun in itself but once you get used to the interface your design time is up (seemed to be about 2 minutes).  Once the time is up you just choose from pre-designed elements to complete the design.  Then you have to name your design and it is loaded into the computer.

The ride pod seems like you are being locked in a coffin.  I think it will accommodate many rider sizes (and there are test seats to the left of the ride). There is a screen portion of the screen in your pod that lets you see the other person you are riding with.

The ride seemed nothing like what we designed.  Which was kind of a let down.
When I told the ride op that I was expecting something more intense he said they had to remove some of the more intense ride moves and they may come back.  This ride has potential but I wouldn't wait in a long line for it.  I suppose I forgot that this was Disney and was expecting something a little more intense.  If you have kids they will love it.

There is also on online site catered to the ride ( www.mathmovesu.com ).  I didn't spend much time here but I was hoping they would allow you to enter the code on your plastic card and view/modify your design for a future ride experience.

Maybe another park will open one of these catered to a more thrilling ride!

Just add the being buried effect and it could be a halloween attraction.
