Don't worry, Auto Club is one of his best tracks. But, Vegas. That's another story...

1.5 mile typical cookie cutter. remodeled in 2007 with 27 degree banking. Las Vegas is one of two tracks that Gordon has never won at. They've been racing there since '98.

My bad, they broke ground in '97.

Jimmie Johnson is the winner of the Auto Club 500. Jimmie has put an end to Roush Racing's Spring Cali. win streak, which was at 5. The next race is at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where Kyle Busch(the hometown fave) is the defending race winner. The race will be on around three p.m. on FOX next sunday. feel free to speculate 'til then.

you support gordon, but you hate johnson? That is the most messed up thing I have ever seen.

And just to tell you, ever since the track was remodeled in '07. Johnson won the race in '07 and '08 and finished n the top five last year.

His crew chief should be fired for that two tire call at the end of the race... then and again by the time jeff got to the pit, jimmie had four tires and was halfway down pit road...

Congratulations to Kurt Busch for winning at Atlanta, again...

Paul Menard has the honorable mention because he has a chance of winning until the final restart. And a highlight for the season is Brad Keselowski taking some lessons in flying from Edwards late in the race.

Just click this link: nascar.com
click VIDEO and look for a red #12 lifted halfway off the ground.

Addition:
HE HAD THAT COMING!!!

The next race is the Food City 500 in Bristol, Tennessee. March 21st around noon, maybe one. Bristol, known as Thunder Valley, is comparable to watching something in a blender. loud, fast and it might blow the lid off...

even if he did have that coming, it was still wreckless diving and should not have happened.

Edwards didn't intend to have Keselowski flip. If you've watched all of the races Keselowski participated in, he has had made very aggresive and stupid moves that have put many others in danger.

The other thing is that those cars have a lift off speed around 180 mph, on most of the tracks that they've raced at they've had spins doing almost 210... So it was just the way that Keselowski's car reacted to the sudden change in airflow and direction that resulted in him catching some air. and if you saw the post race interviews that weren't in that video and all the other interviews from past races, you would know he's not really accepted by most of the drivers and officials in the sport.

There was a test today at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, AL. It was for the new aluminum spoiler that could be mandated this year...

http://espn.go.com/rpm/blog/_/name/newton_david/id/5001348/so-long-wing-hardly-knew-ye

-This link will show a glimpse of the spoiler
-Some drivers will give reviews about it
-you might laugh at how silly it looks...

stability reasons on the superspeedways. Trust me, they won't have that "bar" on on any other track than daytona and talladega.

Congrats to Jimmie for his third win on the year and his 50th during his career. The next race is at Martinsville around 1pm on Sunday, March 28th.

This next race will be the first under the 2010 owner points and possibly the first with the new spoiler. Martinsville can be compared to a paper-clip or two drag-strips with hairpin turns connecting them.

I am happy they finally got rid of the freakin wing. Not only was it ugly, it made the cars unable to race side by side. I want to see them dippin and dodging in every turn like they use to be able to do.

Your Martinsville winner is the homestate hero Denny Hamlin!!! To bad he get surgery tomorrow for that ACL tear.
The next race will be at phoenix in two weeks. the race will start around 7 est. This race will be 375 miles long, although it says 600 on the name of the race. That is in kilometers. In simple math, Phoenix is a mile long circuit with a dog-leg about mid-way through the backstretch. IT was actually built to be for the IRL in the 80's.

A second reminder, NO SPRINT CUP RACE THIS WEEKEND!!! you can watch the trucks and nationwide from Nashville, TN if you want. They are on friday and saturday. Trucks will be friday at 7:30 on SPEED and the Nationwide will be on Saturday at 3:30 on ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC, they are very odd with the nationwide race due to all the other sports that are on at the same time.

Sorry, I've had too much homework getting back from spring break.

The Subway 600 winner is Ryan Newman. He grabbed his first win since Daytona in '08 and also got the first win for the #39 in Nascar's history.

The next race is at Texas on Sunday around 3 pm est.

Some BIG news this week... Kasey Khane signed to drive for Hendrick Motorsports in either 2011 or 2012. No year specified since all the hendrick drivers are signed through the 2011 season. He could drive one year in a Stewart-Hass car, which is supplied by Hendrick or do a one year deal with another team.
The link is here

I'll try to fill you guys in as this develops, since this is recent and not well known at this time...
