Safari Discoveries Coming to the Golden Kindgom!
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:44:31 PM »
Since the tigers are no longer in the Golden Kingdom, have you been wondering what will be done with the area this year? Well it looks like we will have our answer!

In addition to Wiggles World becoming Safari Kids (we think, still), Temple of the Tiger is becoming Safari Discoveries!

The park posted the following on their Facebook:

Quote
Actually launching a new program called Safari Discoveries in that area. It will feature various exotic animals, newborn babies and our sea lions. Dolphins will still be at Dolphin Discovery.

Sounds pretty neat! What do you think of sea lions being in their own area and own show? And what will the dolphin show be, since it was half sea lion?

We are not sure if this will be contained to the Temple area or take over more of the Golden Kingdom. We also don't know if the area's name is changing.

We also don't know if this is in addition to the Exploration Station by the Safari or if that area is moving. It does sound like how things were in 2005 when the small animals first came to the park and were brought around the Golden Kingdom by "Animal Ambassadors" before the Exploration Station was built.

Either way, this sounds like a good use of the space, and I can't wait to see it on opening day!

Rock N Tug near El Toro. It was hiding in the bushes when you were there.

Different management.
Different philosophy.
Different priorities.
Different way of doing business.

Thankfully, this means the new management actually cares about their middle sized riders and hopefully we could get some more flat rides into the park.

Oh, yeah, I saw the rockin tug behind the bamboo, lol.  But when you said Tango, I was wondering if they had A Tango, because those thigns can be evil.

Hopefully they'll get this section of the park back to full capacity with attractions and get the rides back up and running so they can focus on the area over by Chiller's station.  And maybe add some smaller flats over by the ferris wheel.

Isnt`t Tango for little kids? I quess it`s slightly more excitting that the majority of little kid rides.

Look, I don't think you can be picky about what flat rides are at the park at the moment

Its a great intermediate ride. My boys have outgrown the rides in all of the kiddie lands so this is great news for them as there isn't much else to do besides coasters. Tango is just a good family fun ride.

I believe they have a larger version of it where you go over a bump inbetween the two end pieces. There also is an adult version where the car is shaped like a frisbee and you go vertical on each end. Wade is right though, they can be a bit of fun, especially the adult ones

The adult versions are much better, but most of them are on a light program. I'd love to try one with the hump, cranked up to the maximum setting. As is, the hump doesn't do much for the ride.

Then there's the park in Mason, Ohio that at least in the past insisted on calling their version, then known as Avatar: The Last Airbender...a roller coaster.  Even though they counted Racer as ONE coaster, they pulled that stunt.

It doesn't coast = not a coaster. Not even a powered coaster IMO.
