Shoe, Millennium Force would be more like 8.5 hours, because, you have to park your car, wait in line to get in, then walk half way across the park to the MF entrance, then through the long queue and up the ramps to the station. That's assuming there's no line when you get there. ;)

With a line I would say about 9.5 hours with Matt's Numbers.

But I'm positive he's making everything positive and you get into the park straight away and have nothing else happen. Being negative I'd say 10 hours minimum.

There are legitimate reasons.

Just wit until it gets the most overrated coaster of the year award...

K bubba I'm confused. How does 6 hours to LC, and 4.5 hrs to SFNE happen? Maybe I need to look at a map before I call you on this but... hmmm

The 3 hrs waldameer is nice for me... never realized I was closer to CP than all of you. I guess if  thought of it I would have.

SFGadv - 8 hrs
Darien Lake 1 hr 45 min
Marineland 1 hr
Martins 1 hr
Dollywood 12 hrs :(

Every time I go to LC, it never fails I get stuck in the worst traffic jam.  I was waiting for someone to catch that!  Also, Waldameer feels like it takes a day to get to.

I started this and focused on the good trip distances... Now here are some that are keeping me off of great rides. At least so far.

SFO georgia 14 hrs
Kings Dominion 10 hrs
Carowinds 12 hrs
SFStL 12 hrs
WOF 15 hrs (Prowler)
BG europe 11hrs
Dollywood 12 hrs (Thunderhead)

It just occured to me I have only been on 2 GCI's and they are both at hershey. They are all just sooo bloody far away. As well as being at parks in alot of cases with not much draw other than GCIs. Examples WOF, Valleyfair, Beech Bend, Celeb city.

I guess the next closest one to me is Roar east.. no thanks. I have a superman less than 2 hrs away at Darien Lake. I hope to get there one day. I don't have any idea what my next GCI will be. American Thunder (hwn), Rumbler (hwn) are the two most likely. Possibly Thunderhead because it's probably the best NA wooden coaster I haven't ridden.

Thoughts..

Shivering Timbers, Timber Terror, Tremors, Prowler, Ozark Wildcat (I know cheap shot) and when it's running well Ghostrider are the best NA woodies you haven't ridden yet. Oh wait, have you been to Indiana Beach yet? Oh and don't forget the Dells! Of course from the sound of things, the Dells woodies aren't what they used to be (but Avalanche was my number 1 before Voyage came along).

Anyhow, you really need to save those parks you mentioned for a flying trip to the region and then group a bunch of them together. See if you and your cousin can get a guys trip sometime. ;)

Silver Dollar City, Worlds of Fun and Six Flags St. Louis would be a kickass trip.

Six Flags Over Georgia, Lake Winnie, DollyWood and Carowinds would be a kickass trip.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Kings Dominion and Six Flags America would be a kickass trip.

Minnesota, The Dells, Six Flags Great America, Michigan's Adventure, and Indiana Beach would be a kick ass trip. FYI, I have done Michigan's Adventure and Indiana Beach in the same day along with Six Flags St, Louis the day before. But you definitely would not want to do that as you'd have VERY minimal time to take them all in.

I have considered the missouri trip... I could get SFSTL with a hwn's trip.

Michigans adventure is only 5 hrs away from me... I could do it in a one night trip.

I plan a dells trip at some point but not feeling rushed.

I plan a virgina trip at some point but I think I would drive it.

Just realized my most likely next GCI is Gwazi. Much farther than some but my most likely flight trip that includes a GCI.

My cousin is much less into these trips than he may appear to be. He has a 2 month old and im having a hard time getting him to waldameer for a day trip (3 hr drive)

so thunderhead is that far down your list?

Of the ones you mentioned Timbers is the only one really on my radar.

Don't get me wrong; Thunderhead is awesome! It's just a little overrated (like most GCIIs). THe others aren't like a million times better, just... better. :) It's really a close race between Thunderhead, Prowler and OzCat for my favorite GCI (now that Gwazi has joined the neutered club like Wildcat). Shivering Timbers is epic like Voyage and Boulder Dash epic. Tremors and Timber Terror are fantastic old school CCIs (which almost makes them automatically better than a GCII). Ghostrider was the first woodie I liked about as much as Shivering Timbers.

Seriously Silverwood should be on your radar. Imagine Holiday World before Voyage...very similar situation. You can make an awesome trip out of going there for one day and seeing the surrounding sights and Seattle and Vancouver area.

Re-reading my last post, let me say that the two Silverwoodies are better than the original two Holiwoodies.

Hmmm... week long Euro Trip, week long Dollywood and area trip or week long Seattle area trip next summer??? Oh my.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

Europe is the most tempting, and I can tie in a music festival with it too, but money is the main factor. Dollywood would be with family, so potentially very very inexpensive, and Seattle, I don't know.

With all due respect to silverwood It's not on my immediate radar. For that trip instead of being HW before voyage, it would have to be HW after voyage with a Boulderdash throw in. I actually think I watched the 2 pov's for the first time yesterday. Tremmors looks really awesome. I was surprised Timber terror was an out and back. I assumed twisterish. Lets not forget about the Vekoma boomerang! Coasters aside what is silverwood like?

As for Timbers... Matt you just say the word and we are doing timbers. I won't drag anyone I know that far for that park. So whether its 2013, 2015, 2023.... just let me know.
