Edwardo:
So this was the next day of 2013's Texas Trip.  Enjoy!

The mall at La Cantera (the whole entertainment district that houses hotels, a mall, condos, and Six Flags) rests up on the quarry walls above the park, and grants access to some decent picture spots, as well as a free place for Bubba to park his car, since i had national parking on my parking pass ;-).

Test Run for Rattler.

When I saw what they were doing with this, I thought it was an inversion just to be an inversion, but it worked, and very well.

Day number two, batman clone not named Batman number two.

The park is definitely beautiful, and you can tell that A) It wasn't built by the former (Premier) Six Flags and B) The Current Six Flags is keeping it up.

You don't wait in line when you have the Marketing Director as your escort directly to Rattler.

I always try to ride a train at parks.  I love trains, even though I grew up with trains constantly going by my house to deliver coal as a kid (at all hours of the night).

One of the best park trains out there, IMO.

I can finally complete my US Set of these.

Love these rides, but the indoors ones are better.

Absolutely one of the best flumes EVER!  I wore my gigantic cowboy hat the entire time, too.

We never managed to ride, but I loved the placement in the park.

Every park should have this.

It was fun, but nothing outstanding.  It's a good flagship ride for this particular park, though the park now lacks an actual wooden coaster.

Seriously, dat flume, do...

So this was the reason for the visit.  I knew it wouldn't be Texas Giant because the layout was so different, but it looked good.  And it was.  It was exactly how I thought it would be.  My only 'complaint' is that the first drop slows at the top before you drop.  Otherwise, it had good pops of air, and the tunnel was great.  I loved it.  It ranks highly, but there are other coasters out there better.  Having said that, with the old Rattler's reputation, this seems like a great way to invest money, but not build a whole new ride.  Can we PLEASE do this to Mean Streak???

This park has a lot of room to expand.

Seriously, it's one of the reasons to visit this park.  Get there now!

I loved seeing this at the end of the street.

I've lost count of how many of these I've ridden now.  I think it's 4.  I was sick in line but actually lost the nausea on the ride.  Odd.

Such a great layout.

And just like SFoT, I missed the Boomerang Credit.  Oh well...

So here are some various pictures from the weekend.  I wasn't feeling well on Sunday morning so I dropped Matt and Matt off at Schlitterbahan and went back to the room to sleep before going to a film festival that evening.

Remember The Alamo!

This was surprisingly good.

I wore this all day at Six Flags.

I loved Riverwalk.  Took three trips down there.

San Antonio has a very charming down town.

Plenty of food, entertainment, and shopping on Riverwalk.

The Hard Rock in San Antonio.

It was so peaceful on Monday Afternoon.

There were several older stone dams that used to dam the water up.

World's first VFW.

Lochs on Riverwalk.

And that's that!

Robert T Ackerman:
LOL you said "dat flume do"

I loved this park, but we went pre-Batman clone. I need to get back. At the time, the best rides were the Bumper Cars, Flume and Mine Train.

Edwardo:
I forgot to mention the awesome mine train. Twas also very good.

This trip report makes me sad that I'm not going to Texas this year. I just don't have the time and I spent too much on other trips to make it possible. At least without doing it on the extreme cheap.

Blackhand1001:
Regarding Poltergeist, atleast the outdoor ones don't stop in the middle of the ride like the flight of fear clones do. They have a mid course brake run that slowed you down more than scream machine did.

Cool indoor video of the spaghetti bowl With lights on.
