So I guess El Toro is the last major installation at GA for a while since he is concerned with just entertainment.

While this might suck for us, does anybody here actually disagree with his comment?

I'm not really for this hostile take over but some things really did need to change.  Not building multi-million dollar rides every season is a good place to start IMO.

But yes, I think you are correct Bubba.

Hey, if the shows or entertainment is that good I am all for it.  hopefully they spend some money on RT so it runs even better this year. I thought the left side was unbelievable last year.

Quote
He said a top priority of the new management team will be to target young children and families and not just thrill-seeking teenagers.

"It's become a company that has targeted teenagers as its core audience ... but it's been done at the expense of young families," Shapiro said. "We want to make the parks more attractive to families and restoring family confidence in the brand.

so ends our fun.

if were going to turn into one of those taming everything down parks.. so the little kiddies can ride thier rides, im not going to buy a season pass anymore.

along with el torro were adding yet another new kid section.  Theres no need to transform our park into this all loving all happy family desination.  We need to keep the balance.

we need more family FLAT rides.. and thrill seeking flat rides.

not rides for under 48 inchers that we'll never be able to touch.

were already expanding family wise.. i see no good news coming from this take over.

Interesting info here - http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1301723/000091412105002187/0000914121-05-002187.txt

and a good article here - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/14/AR2005121402367.html

edit:  for those that might be wondering what the big deal is, search that SEC filing for New Jersey.  You will see how much "other" land Six Flags owns and is currently trying to sell.

For Great Adventure, I see Shapiro keeping us on our path after visiting.  That would really affect parks like SFMM where there is zero balance.

Scoreboard Great Adventure
Attendance (in M)   3,150
Used Acres             240
Total Acres             2,200
Unused Acres         1,565
Own/Lease             own

Hm, I think we can safely sell of at least some of the land.

Take note of all the other land that is for sale in NJ.  They own tons of other vacant land that is actually already on the market just recently.

Somehow, I seriously doubt that much of those 1,500 unused acres can be used for very much due to the wetland restrictions and Jackson Twp.

So for once, those annoying restrictions could work in our favor :)

The land that's not connected to the park itself I could see them selling.  The land connected to them I would keep because it keeps the potential to make the complex into some mega complex.  If Hershey can have a sports complex and a resort complex, why can't Great Adventure have that?  We have the land, we just have to use it.

Yes.  You are correct. And I know for certain that the lake has been looked at for hotel expansion.  I think the first hotel is to test the waters.  I can see a 2nd hotel show up if things go well.
