Jersey Shore Log Flume Accident
« on: July 22, 2007, 07:44:54 PM »
What is going on this year  :o

Yet another accident.  Something I'm sure the Gillian family did not need after finally getting that Mad Mouse accident behind them.

OMG not again ... It is amazing how many accidents  there have been this year or is it just the fact that we are just more in tune to it ?

Wade,  don't forget about the girl who drowned at Gillian's in 05.

Please keep in mind what I post next is only about Numbers, not how I feel about people getting Killed or hurt.  I would like to see a safety record of 100% but that's just not reality.

Over 35 million people visit parks annually. As of today this year only,  we've had 32 reports of Accidents with 11 deaths and over 100 hurt. Out of the 11 deaths, 6 could have been avoided due to human error and bad judgments. The other 5,  we can blame that on  2 mechanical failures  2 drownings and one Inflatable ride.

Out of the hundred hurt,  The only case's  that stand out would be Kaitlyn's Lasitters Tragic limb loss @ SFKK and the Fire on the Enterprise.

Now compare that to Driving, where we all know it's more DANGEROUS getting to the park than actually being Killed at one.

RTAs), traffic collisions, auto accidents, road accidents, personal injury collisions, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), ? kill an estimated 1.2 million people worldwide each year, and injure about forty times this number

Again just numbers.  If you really want to second guess you're Hobby check out
