Show Description

Imagine falling from 45 stories high or launching from the deck of an aircraft carrier, going from zero to 128 miles per hour (206 kilometers per hour) in only 3.5 seconds. The latest generation of today's supercoasters can do just that, simulating the aerial acrobatics of fighter jets and zero gravity environments. Explore how visionary geniuses are using ground-breaking technologies to build taller, faster roller coasters that push science and human physiology to the edge. Unravel the mind's reactions to these monster machines as we see how huge falls, flips, and loops affect brain chemistry. Plus, we'll look a few years into the future, and preview the 1,000 foot (304.80 meters) falls and 200 mph (321 kph) supercoasters that exist only on paper, but could affect roller coasters to come.

The latest supercoasters are testing riders' nerves like never before. New technologies are being utilized to hurl people from zero to 128 miles per hour (206 kph) in only 3.5 seconds. Supercoaster designers are looking closer than ever at how these massive thrill rides can become even more exciting by studying the effects of G-Forces and weightlessness on the human body. These design wizards visit military testing facilities for inspiration and to make sure the demands placed on the human body by these supercoasters stay within the limits of what's safe. This allows for taller, faster, and more terrifying marvels of amusement and helps designers get close to truly simulating what it's like to be inside a fighter jet. But building supercoasters isn't always fun and games. Secrets of design and human physiology are closely guarded by the major players in the roller coaster industry. Amusement parks battle to build the biggest, fastest rides in the country in what is fast becoming a true Coaster War. See how these coaster builders compete by twisting the minds and bodies of its patrons using the latest technologies on SuperCoasters.

It all depends on where you live.  And some systems like Comcast will share National Geographic with another channel depending on what time of day it is.  If you have digital cable or SAT you should be good to go.

/\  it was actually a still shot of the train wrapped up ;)

I thought the show was interesting for a coaster show.  They did bring up many good points and it was interesting to hear Kinzel talk about how dissapointed he is with Dragster.  Maybe once these air dates pass I'll upload it to the site.

That was Kinzel I thought it was.
So we won't be seeing any rockets this high for a while.
It was nice to see Steve Urbanowicz.
When I talked with Kristin last Tuesday at ECC day she said they didn't ask for any footage  ? They kept showing the same KK footage over and over on the top hat.
Some of the footage with Steve looks like from last summer .
