Hmm... a B&M of some sort eh? A Flyer possibly? But they already have FireHawk.

People keep talking about a snakey version of riding in a night row.

Jinkies. It's a B&M hyper with the new trains that Behemoth has, plus a splashdown finale similar to those on the dive machines. Did you all miss the plans that were published? ;)

August 6.  2pm.  Press conference.  At said park.

Hmmm...hopefully this monster will have the airtime that Behemoth looks to give off.

To me, this is probably one of the smarter investments CF has made as far as rides go in the last several years.

And the steel box scoop for the water effect is so stupid simple that its genious :D

Do you guys think CF made this purchase or did Paramount plan this before they sold the parks?

Cedar Fair definitely made the purchase and contract.  The design was probably already on hand due to a proposal B & M had made to Paramount Parks in the past, which had not been accepted.

I've got to admit, this ride will likely get me out to Kings Island next Spring.  This looks awesome!

Yeah, that might even get Rob and Dan to go back. ;)

Looks great to me... almost exactly how I interpreted the layout from the plan published in the paper (see link above). Hopefully it runs balls out and not like a typical B&M.

Nice!  In the POV video it really hauls the whole way thru.
I still don't know about that train design.

One thing I couldn't tell was if the water effect will be anywhere near the actual midway.  That would be a shame to not let the kids enjoy getting soaked like shiekra does.

Ken, so far I've only heard good things about the train design.

As far as this getting me back to KI... if (a big IF) I go to HWN next year (again, another if, if they even hold the event) I might just fly into Columbus and make a quick stop at KI to get a night ride or 2 and then get out. My brother is moving to Columbus so that might help get me there just as much.

Yeah, that sucks about Chiller...I hate to see it like that. Hey, so we should get a group picture or something ok. I'll call you later!

When I flew out to Columbus it was only $39  from Philly a few years ago.
They KI may have an event before or after HWN like other parks do ?

The Splashdown is in the old Swan Lake which was right along a walking path. I'm sure they will have it set up so spectators can get an up-close view of the finale. The park would be stupid to miss out on such a strong point of "atmosphere".

It's Cedar Fair, but still, there are plenty of trees that they have worked to save...so far.

It seems like a Nitro-like ride with a Dive Machine Water area. With that being the case, take as many trees as you want.

Besides, what do trees produce oxygen or something :P?

Our friends over at http://www.kicentral.com have new aerial photos of Diamondback and the park, courtesy of their very own Captain Nemo:
