Space Mountain 2009 Closure basically confirmed
« on: December 15, 2008, 01:38:18 PM »
Checkout these pictures taken from the 2009 "What will you celebrate" planning DVD.  More important, scroll down to the park map and notice something missing in Tomorrowland.  Apparantly, Space isn't even mentioned or shown once in the DVD either.  So I'll be getting my final version 1.0 rides in two weeks  O0

My poor Mountain.  I'll miss you in your original form, but your new self will be worth it.  If only I worked at the Disney Store or something so I could keep my status.

It's not on the ride closure list yet which is currently showing up through June 2009.

Part of me is all for updating the effects, but as is the ride is my number 1 steel coaster (no joke).

Even if the layout is kept identical to the original (like DL's was), I'll miss the jostling mine train ride through space it currently gives. :(

My annual pass expired 11/23 :'( and I couldn't justify 2k on passes for the family.  I need to keep reminding myself that I've never been to Dollywood or Holiday World. I was thinking about a Dolly season pass $73.

We go next week and our passes have expired.  I'm on the fence with getting new ones or just getting park hoppers for precisely the same reason.  Once you have the AP's, it's really hard to justify going elsewhere.  Plus, the other parks need the help much more than Disney!

With all of the crazy package deals Disney is offering in 2009 with 7 nights for the price of 4 including park hoppers and a $200 gift card, it's really tough to justify an AP now.

We had an awful time at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday.  Space Mountain was down the entire 4 hours we were there and Big Thunder had over an hour wait.  We didn't get to ride either one!  :(

I agree about the disney deals. Also right now you can get Disneyland Hoppers everyone for
the kids price.  I think it expires 12/23 but you have until April to use the tickets.
