Saturday Night Lights - Rock Loves
« on: May 24, 2009, 07:33:06 AM »
Forget the flame throwers on Bizarro.
Saturday Night Lights is the hottest new attraction at Great Adventure this year!
Pyrotecnico really knows how to put on an amazing fireworks show!
Rock Loves is the best fireworks show I have ever seen.

Artists featured during the Saturday Night preview show were:
-Emmerson, Lake and Palmer
-Smashing Pumpkins
-Guns and Roses
-Bon Jovi
-Bruce Springsteen
-The Who
(I think I forgot one)

In all honesty I would buy a season pass just for the fireworks now.
I'll definitely be going back for another viewing!
Bravo Six Flags! Bravo!
This will keep people in the park.

And yes the foggy weather that rolled in was not the best for viewing fireworks.
You can't control the weather.

Ken. I agree.  The best fireworks display that I have ever seen.  It was great seeing and finally getting to meet Jeanine.

They were Incredible. The timing of the Shells with the Music is dead on. And the sheer amount of Shells fired is astounding. But yes, a slight Breeze would of been good last Night. It was part Fog, and Part Smoke, from the amount of shells fired, that "drowned out" some of the Firworks. There are a few pics. up in the Gallery.

The mist on the lake before the fireworks was pretty cool too. But yeah some wind to the south would have been nice so the fireworks would have been visible in front of the clouds.

Ran into Mark Kane tonite and he was just as impressed with the Display as we were. He had a funny comment though, he said he was waiting for a call from the Park's "Neighbor's" all day complaining about the noise last night, and how it must of sounded like WWIII. He did say however the Fog and Smoke issue will be resolved with warmed Temp's. Can't wait till' the 4th of July.

I don't really understand as to why the smoke issue deals with the temperature. And the fog that rolled in wasn't really thick until after the show ended. Well hopefully he is right so I can re-record the show, maybe even with multiple angles to show you guys.

I can see it being true with the temp. and the Fog, but without a Breeze we will have the Smoke no matter what. That was just from the sheer amount of Shells fired.

It was a temperature issue because it had cooled off, raising the dew point, which held the smoke low to the ground.  That along with the temperature difference between the air and the lake (which is what caused the really cool looking fog to roll off the water) just combined to hold the smoke too low.
