It looks like there is about a 38% chance SOB is done... Should I be sad that I never got a chance at it. I must say I was sad when the loop went. General thoughts on an impressive ride that most ppl hate.

Wasn't it the first woodie with a loop and then they had to take the loop down because of some accident?

No, it was by no means the first woodie with a loop.  It was the first modern woodie with a loop, and perhaps the last one for quite some time.

Wood coasters had loops more than 110 years ago.  They were not all that successful then either:

There were many such rides.  The loops were circular, resulting in many injuries.  Coney Island in New York even had one, with double loops.

When SoB was new, it was pretty cool simply for the speed and the loop. But the layout always sucked and whether or not you enjoyed the power of the first half, everything after the loop was a total bore. That loop was hella-cool though. :)

They should of installed ejector seats.
