New Attraction for Cedar Point in 2011
« on: August 15, 2010, 02:19:09 PM »
Sounds like Cedar Point will be adding something very exciting for the 2011 season. I am anxious to see what they are planning. Any ideas?

It will be particularly exciting if it both opens on time AND guests are allowed to sit in each seat designed for the attraction...

wow, who just HAD to

In Cedar Point's defense, I think they do everything they can to have their new attractions ready for opening day. Shoot the Rapids faced issues that were really the manufacturers fault from my understanding. Maverick also just happened to face some problems that could only be determined from testing. They did a darn good job opening it just 2 weeks later considering they had to order and install an entire new section of track, then go through the whole testing phase again. I do not fault the park for these situations. As for Great Adventure though, they don't even seem to try to get new attractions opened at the start of the season.

Baloney.  Methinks you have Statue of Liberty disease.  You are willing to spot Cedar Point for any errors/delays/mistakes, while Great Adventure can do no right.  Familiarity breeds contempt.

Is this what a Stratosoar looks like:

The crack staff at the Sandusky Register reports for duty!

Mr. Jackson needs to brush up on his metric conversions. 117 meters does not equal 236 feet!

I don't care if that's the new ride or not, that's just insane.

The Flying Wave on steroids.
383+ Feet on this type of ride is just frightening to think of.
I think I'll skip this one.

being attached to chains over 300 feet in the air seems a litttle too much for me.

Not likely to be chains, if patent dispute accounts are correct...

I've been on the one in Holiday Park, Tivoli Gardens and a few fairs around here and the only time there actually scary is when there is wind gusts and you start turning sideways.

Looks like Wonderland is getting one as well... The park is littered with signs saying "How High?", "Way up there?" and "Hope a little height isn't a problem". The announcement is August the 24th as well as the points. Looks like maybe they got a buy 2 get the 3rd one free deal. If true, looks like cedar fair will go the year without building a coaster. First time in at least 10 years.
