I thought this was pretty cool and came in this neat CD the girls sent me via snail mail. I thought I'd share this part with you all.....

The world?s first Six Flags theme park opened in 1961, on a little patch of prairie land between Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas.  Texas oil baron Angus Wynne created Six Flags Over Texas, the world?s first regional theme park.

The name ?Six Flags? refers to the six countries or nations whose flags flew over Texas during the state?s colorful history, which also provided the six themed sections of Six Flags Over Texas: the United States, the Confederate States, Mexico, Spain, France and the Republic of Texas.

Six Flags Over Texas was the world?s first ?pay-one-price? theme park.  In 1961, Six Flags Over Texas introduced the one-price admission at $2.95 ? including tax.  This type of pricing was a revolutionary concept at the time.   Soon after, parks around the country were following Six Flags Over Texas in implementing a one-price admission.

Nearly the entire U.S. population?95 percent?lives within an eight-hour drive of a Six Flags park.

Six Flags guests know the importance of making time for play.  Last year, fun seekers spent a combined 250 million hours at Six Flags parks.  If one person tried to spend that much time at the park themselves, they?d be more than 28,000 years old!

Six Flags has more coasters than all other theme park companies in the world combined.  Six Flags operates 160 world-class coasters at its 30 parks., and those coasters travel almost 2.5 million miles each year.  That?s equivalent to 100 orbits around the earth or a trip to the moon.

Six Flags boasts the world?s tallest and fastest roller coaster!  Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure reaches a height of 456 feet and a speed of 128 mph!

Six Flags theme parks are also home to more of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world, including Kingda Ka, the tallest and fastest coaster in the world, D?j? Vu, the tallest and fastest suspended looping coaster; Viper, the tallest looping coaster; and The Riddler?s Revenge, the tallest and fastest stand-up coaster.

When its seventeenth roller coaster opens in 2006, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles shatters its own Guinness World Record for the most roller coasters in a single theme park.

Six Flags also has the world's largest inventory of branded roller coasters including Batman? The Ride, Superman Ultimate Escape, and THE Joker?s Jinx.

Six Flags? 45 Fun Facts/Page 2

Grab the popcorn, settle down, and get ready to watch your favorite movie more than 1,300 times in a row.  That gives you an idea of the amount of time Six Flags safety and maintenance experts spend inspecting and maintaining rides each day.

Hungry?  Try the pie.  Each year, Six Flags serves up enough pizza to build a single lane footbridge from Los Angeles to Hawaii.

If you took all the hamburgers people enjoy each year at Six Flags parks, you could invite the residents of Alaska, Delaware, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota and half of Vermont over for a cookout.

Every trip to Six Flags is a sweet one.  How sweet?  If you took all the cotton candy Six Flags parks produce in a single season, you could stuff more than 2,000 minivans full of fluffy pink treats.

Take your seats!  Six Flags is more than thrilling rides and splash-filled water parks.  With our plentiful concert seating throughout our parks, you could invite the entire populations of Charleston, South Carolina; Boulder, Colorado; and Nantucket, Massachusetts to sit down and catch a show all at once, or fill the Georgia Dome, Dodger Stadium, Louisiana Superdome and Madison Square Garden!

In an effort to increase wildlife conservation awareness, the zoological parks operated by Six Flags have been successfully caring for marine mammals and land animals, and providing educational programs for 32 years.

Tidal wave!  It takes more than 14.5 million gallons of water to fill the wave pools at Six Flags? 20 water parks.  That?s like dumping in the contents of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool?twice!

Six Flags Theme Parks are the only place to find lovable Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and friends ? in person!  Plus, in 2006, the parks welcome the JUSTICE LEAGUE, including BATMAN, ROBIN, GREEN LANTERN, WONDER WOMAN and THE FLASH.

The road to fame and fortune begins at Six Flags!  Many famous people have gotten their start at our theme parks, including American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, a performer at Six Flags Over Texas; American Idol finalist Ejay Day, a singer and dancer at Six Flags Over Georgia; and former Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider, who now appears in WB?s Smallville.

You may run into your favorite celebrity during your visit to Six Flags.  Bruce Willis brought daughter Rumer to Six Flags Great Adventure for her birthday and Julia Roberts celebrated her 30th at the park.  Star like Antonio Banderas, Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Bernie Mac, Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie, Kelly Ripa, Ethan Hawke, Matt LeBlanc, Serena Williams, Ryan Seacrest, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Mick Foley, Courtney Cox, Kevin Bacon, Harry Connick Jr., Chevy Chase, Rebecca Romijn, Backstreet Boys? Howie Dorough, John Stamos, David Copperfield and Lisa Marie Presley have experienced the thrill factor at different Six Flags theme parks across the country.
