Halloween Events
« on: October 05, 2006, 03:03:12 PM »
Halloween  events attractions and Haunted Houses
what are your best experiences and or places to visit during this season.
I'm always looking for the best.
http://www.hauntworld.com

Some I been to in the past
Great Adventure 2005 - hay ride was ok, the 2 walkthoughs prettty good etc.
Dorney 2005 - all events pretty good they have a haunted walk near thunderhawk with blinding smoke and a small indoor walkthrough OK
Indiana Beach - always open I think around $3 one of the Better walk throughs
Jersey Devil woods in Williamstown  no big deal

near the Philly Stadiums -In the years past I went to a indoor haunted walk though  OK
Haunted Mill (some old campground ? In Lancaster county indoor walkthough and outdoor walk.
the indoor was a few stories tall at one point we had to crawl though a pipe in total darkness the pipe wasn't long but very very claustrophobic even for myself, my sister inlaw would not go though it we had to hold here hand,  this Mill was one of the best I been to for that reason
Brigantine Castle - Can't remember to much as it was years ago pretty good
Rivers Edge Delran/Cinaminson Haunted Hayride was pretty good  years ago don't see any info on it anymore it was near the Delaware river (one year they had a murder scene then they had a white bronco drive by the setup fast like OJ )
I also never been to Creamy Acres in Mullica Hill (S. Jersey)
I been to others but can't recall will update later

Jasons Woods in Lancaster www.jasonswoods.com I here is very good we did the Mill instead of Jason's would as the line of cars went for about a half mile.
I here the attraction at Lake Compounce is good and Universal Studios
Also never been to www.easternstate.org/halloween will go this year rated # 5 in the USA

what can you add to this

Creamy Acres in mullica hill is owned by a friend of my girlfriends.  Its pretty good, theres always usually a haunted house or 2, a hay ride with a maze and whatnot.. and they do a pretty good job year after year.  Though i have not paid to get in for awhile now, I dont believe they are very expensive.  Its not truly horrifying but, its nice to admire a small south jersey towns halloween event!

October 26th, 9:00pm
Watch at home or with Friends!
On October 26th at 9:00pm, the Travel Channel will air a new program called Mysterious Journeys. The new series will feature the "ghosts" of Eastern State Penitentiary just in time for Halloween!

This program will also feature some of Eastern's former inmates, guards, and staff members.  The show will attempt to "reenact" events which actually took place within the prison walls.

For more information about this program as well as future dates and times the show will air, visit the Travel Channel Website by clicking here.

see live cams at the Prison
Four high tech, ultra sensitive cameras have been strategically placed to provide 24 hour surveillance of some of Eastern State's most haunted locations.  The streaming live video is accessible to the public via the internet on Eastern State Penitentiary's website.

The gatehouse (pictured left) is still the only entrance and exit to the Penitentiary.  Notorious criminals such as Al Capone and "Slick" Willie Sutton passed through these heavy iron gates on their way to incarceration.  There have been many ghost sightings here, and you can monitor this and other sites via the live steaming video from our new "ghost cams."
