Anyone going to ACE's Eastcoaster 2007?
It's February 3rd, 2007 which is the Saturday before the Superbowl.

This is a great event to attend in the middle of winter and a good way to speak with the Reps and see whats new for 2007 and see some presentations. The last 2 years Paramount parks gave out free passes plus exit pases :D finally used mine this year .
Also Door Prizes, I won 2 tickets to Dorney 3 years ago :D
This event pays for itself and a good way to meet up with friends ( a face to a name) ;D
I will be there a few tables from the front come by and say hi. And if anyone needs a ride from the Camden county area I have room in my car.

I try to get to this every year and it just never works out with my schedule. Maybe 2007 will be different.
Although usually, I already know about most of what is being discussed regarding Gadv lol

ugghh, I'll just be getting back from FL right before. I might actually be around for once but might have to beg a little since we'll be just getting settled, unpacking..tired of our kids at the moment, etc. lol

My ACE membership will be up in January and I really don't know if I am going to renew for next year. So I'm not sure if I can go.

I'm surprised to see it cost members $31 to attend. Is that for the museum that will built in 2068. I would like to do the Knoebels walk back , but for 46 dollars I could use that money on opening day.
Chuck, Rob or Tom.... What other perks do you really get by joining ACE. I know you get some discounts, and the magazine for free but is it worth the fee for the other events when I can go as a friend of an ACE member.
Anyone else in ACE , please feel free to answer this question!

I been a member of ACE for about 22 years.(I just renewed for 5 years)

ALso a member of European coaster club.
It used to be great B4 the internet for all the updates.
But I still fell it's worth it.
I been invited to many events for free or at reduced rates
Hercules Media day (biggest buffet I ever seen)
Great American scream Machine Media day KK commercial shoot(awesome). some TV events
(I didn't know anyone from this site B4 the KK commercial)
these are old but I been to a bunch more.(I'm always ready to ride anytime anywhere)
Plus just this year El Toro, SFNE Superman event got 17 rides on Superman.
plus many other events at reduced rates.
4 glossy Rollercoaster magazines a years
I think 6 News letters a year.
Free or reduced rates at parts like
Paramount parks half price, I saved $24 in 2006

Yes ACE members can bring guest but the guests normally pay about $10 more for the events or same.
Like I said in my first post Eastcoaster got me free tickets to parks for the last 3 years
but it is a little costly I would prefer to just buy my own food to save on the cost.
They do the Dorney park walk back and the other events but I only attend the Saturday event.
To me it's a small price to pay and I know I covered if any coaster events pops up.
between a Six Flags season pass and a Cedar Fair Maxx pass and ACE member ship I will be saving $ in the long run.Just think what a Midwest trip how much you save.
Yes Joe/Chuck I always have room for non-members as I normally go it alone :D. so as long as you know a few local members your covered, just ask and pitch in for gas ;).
And the main reason I'm a member is the exclusive ERT times I hate long lines

My love for roller coasters and amusement parks began late in life, actually around the age of 35. I am 39 now. I have learned a lot from all the postings on here and from making friends at the park. I was thinking about joining ACE this year. Is it worth it? What are the benefits?

I'm gonna ask to become a member for my birthday since I'll be able to travel 10x more for these events.

Eastcoaster sign up Deadline is Friday 1-19-07 for those who are going.
If anyone needs a ride from the S. Jersey / Philly area I have room in my Vehicle.
My route would be Route 42 Turnersville area to over Walt Whitman bridge. etc.

OH Wade now i am sure there is MORE to tell . With SF isn't there always more to tell?? Just let's all hope there are no new suprises and that what we already know is all that will be changing.

Hey guys. i'm back. I'm exhausted so I'll have the Photo Trip Report up tomorrow, but today was great. I met alot of cool people. I got to hang out with some old friends and talked to Tom Rebbie for a little while (who invited me and my family to go to the PTC headquarters when ever we want to). And I went to the ACE Archives after which had some cool stuff.
Some Notes:
-Cedar Fair said nothing about X-Flight, except that there will be an announcment Monday at Kings Island.
-Steel Venom at Geuaga Lake will not operate in 2007.
-Mystery Mine started testing yesterday!
-Kings Island contacted PTC about putting there trains on SOB, but PTC turned them down!
-Cypress Gardens is building Starliner.
Now for what you guys really care about, SFGAv
-Well, leave it to SFGAv to not have some one come and represent the park.
-They faxed information in, so some kid read it.
-Freefall, Riptide, and Spin Miester are gone for ever.
-Chiller is getting, and I quote, "a hump". That's what they said, "a hump".
-The parking lot entrance will be fixed up.

Thanks for the report. I think you meant to say Steel Venom AT Geauga Lake will not operate this year. (As an aside, X Flight moved to Kings Island, where it will apparently be called Firehawk).

Don't think I'm shooting my motuh, because I'm not. (I know this sounds nasty, but it's not intended too. I know what happened with Angel, and I feel bad about her grandfather. My mom and Kristin used to talk sometimes (if you don't believe me, ask her or Robb), and she said she hated the Entertainment department, and when my mom had an issue and talked to her, she said that they moved her to Entertainment, and she wasn't too happy with it.

Not that its a huge deal or anything but we prefer to keep such info off the boards. Thats all :). And yes, we/I could have simply hacked your post instead but we also prefer to keep a open forum with little to no censorship. Although I realize you were being sarcastic, the "leave it to Six Flags to send nobody" comment is what I was ticked about since that wasn't the case at all. Although your writing style and sarcasm is what I like most about your reports so please don't stop LOL

I talked with Tom Ribbi and As we all know J2 coaster trains are to stay one train operation.
When I asked what was up with the single train Tom Ribbi told me Larry Baker wants one train in rehab every other year. At least the Lines when I go aren't to long.
Also Tom Ribbi went skiing that morning before going to Eastcoaster (he loves skiing) as do I.
Also as we already know The Lake Compounce Wildcat now has Magnetic brakes so it will now run a 2 train operation.

^ It's exactly why they only run one train, not enough guest and less wear and tear on the track and trains. Which equals saved money for repairs they don't have in the first place.

Yeah, towards the end of last season. There is a member on Coasterbuzz that works for CLP. I think his screen name is jswiga or something close to that. Anyway, I recall him mentioning the possibility last fall. They keep fixing the ride up only to have it destroy itself again. As much as I love J2, I firmly believe that S&S sold them a lemon.

I got ya. I'm sorry about that. I really was just making a joke about them not showing up. Because this past season, they had some screw ups, so iw as just making a joke at that. Though i understand the real reason, and I simpithize on that! So lets call it truce.
