VERY nice pictures :)
Visit - http://www.gadvupdates.com/page2.html
-
Yes, vey nice. You can clearly see the lift hill turn around and the turn out of the station and up the lift. Can't wait for vertical construction.
-
It is about time, I was starting to get worryed
they are really cool pics, looks like constructions moving along
-
Another update from a few days ago showing the track being made at the factory in Germany.
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html
-
^Ya I noticed them, I think that it is cool that there showing pictures of it actually being made.
-
A few more pictures appeared today :)

-
Its great to see things are moving verry fast. Also its nice that gadv is updating alot more than KK.
-
Track is now on...

This project is going amazing. Its already getting close to rt height!! :D
-
I think its past RT height but ya its going up quick and im glad
-
Wow I cannot believe this, but these pics make me miss VIper's zero-degree roll.
-
That's Zero G [heartline roll]. If it was zero degrees, there would be no roll.
-
New pic on the site-http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/_26.jpg
-
3 new pics!!
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html wow the lift is looking good... 8)
-
So, when do you think it will be visible from outside the park. If at all. Of course you could always take reed rd I suppose. I was thinking more from the lake area off 537.
-
I dont think you could see it out of the park. You cant even see Scream Machine, or Nitro outside of the park.
-
You would probally be able to see it from reed road becouse you can see Medusa....
-
I think there's a good chance you'll be able to see it over the lake once its complete... You can see Batman, The Chiller, Big Wheel, Ka... it's possible... I guess we'll have to wait until it's topped off!
-
If you take 426? 537 and Reed rd You can see Scream Machine, Parachutes, Chiller ,Nitro etc all from previous pictures from the construction of Kingda KA. I guess I could take I drive soon. :D
-
Once I hear its topped, I am going to take a drive out to see it.
-
Sounds like another trip too gadv!!
-
Wooden coaster construction is so much more fun to watch than a typical steel coaster.
-
All I've been hearing that it won't be ready, it won't be ready, but I think it will. It's a tight compact coaster that won't take that long to build. It'll pick up after the lift is done. I mean it is the only mechanical part and the highest part.
-

Exactly. Thats what i keep saying. Its not like theres all these rigorous tests it has to go through either. It will be like, if it can get through the course, then its fine. :P
-
As of this past Monday night, the 21st, the discussion I had seemed to indicate things are right on schedule and maybe even slightly ahead.
However, NJ weather is impossible to predict. I'd say it isn't even possible to say if the ride will be open on time or not this early in the game.
-
Right now i want to say that i want it to be open for opening day. But that vision seems to be slippping away suddenly.
-
Just another update by GADV. ET is looking very tall.... 8)
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html
-
I love how RT and ET run parallel to each other in the begining. its a nice touch.
And I cant wait to take the reflection picture either!
-
^That will look real nice.
This ride will be simply awesome. The lift hill is so majestic right now. But just wait until the rest of the ride is built. This will truely be a bull. :D
-
I cant wait till the lift is totally done so construction will move along alot faster. The lift is the slowest part of the ride....
-
We are forgetting that they still have to install the cable lift. How long do you think this will be since it has never been done on a wooden coaster ever before?
-
I have no idea..
Does anyone know how long MF cable took to install?
-
Well you add that time in plus the factor that this has never been done before on a woodie so you got that trial and error period. Hopefully this thing works perfectly.
-
ughhhh ohhhh snow storm coming.
Hopfully construction wont be delay by too much...
-
(http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/37.jpg)
-
i really love that color for some reason. did SF update the site?
-
They updated it yesterday I believe.
-
They are doing a great job this year, let's be sure and let them know so maybe they will see how appreciated it is :)

That looks like it is getting really close to being topped off. I can't wait for it.
-
Did someone say topped off. yes very close, I can't wait until I see the infield done around RT. That's going to be so sweet.
-
it should be happening sometime quite soon indeed.. weather permitting of course. It looks like were going to get another storm system in the next few days. its actually flurrying down here right now.
-
^Tuesday. I saw an letter from Kristin on another site (xtremecoasters) inviting the media Tuesday for the topping off. I'm glad they finished the lift before Christmas. Now this think will really start to move!
-KKR05
-
Obviously, this is good news....
But, some sites really lack class... Enough said

4 new pictures of the top off...

New 12-29-05 pics
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html
Dec. 28 - On Dec. 20 the lift hill was topped off at 188 feet. We are now focused on bent assembly for the hairpin turn at the top of the lift hill to the first drop. Massive bents will be assembled on the ground, lifted and set in place to an erected height of 187 feet.
The winch drum for the cable and catch car system has been set. As we move forward, we are in the process of setting up a separate lift-detail gang to focus on El Toro?s track and mechanical assembly.
Work continues at a steady pace throughout the area. Last week a concrete pour for the station bent footings was complete. During this last week of 2005, excavation work in the Plaza del Carnaval section will continue from the return to La Cocina restaurant.

The tree is still up there!!
-
Yes. We are working our way towards the turn around then the DROP! That thing should look insane once it starts to really take form.
-
I really cant wait to see that drop, especially in person. Its going to look so great :D
-
I found hidden pictures on SF site:
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/IMG_2490.jpg
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/IMG_2492.jpg
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/IMG_2493.jpg
-
How do you find hidden pictures? Did you just search or something?
Any way a really liked this picture that you found
http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photos/IMG_2493.jpg
That one really does show how big El Toro really is.
-
Hidden pictures are found by changing the number in the image name. Last year they did this with Kingda Ka. People changed the number in the file name and found pictures that weren't posted to the gallery. I thought I might try it on the El Toro pictures and I found them.
-
I wonder why they do that. Oh well. I agree, that one of the lift from near the station looks sweet.
Hows that for painstakingly slow progress!
-
I guess the 2nd picture gives you somewhat of an explaination of why they hide pictures. They put the pics on the site, and then find out they look a little blurry, or they just don't like the way they look, and post link them to the public.
-
See, but they still don't have to upload them to the server. I still want to find out why they hide some pictures from the GP and make us enthusiasts find them ourselves when we get really, really bored.
-
But they can put them on the server then realize that it doesn't look the way they wanted it too, or that they just didnt have enough to time make a thumbnail of it as well. I guess they like leaving stuff for us to find and get happy about.
-
See, but they still don't have to upload them to the server. I still want to find out why they hide some pictures from the GP and make us enthusiasts find them ourselves when we get really, really bored.
The park uploads them and somebody in the sixflags central IT department makes the changes. Thats why there is usually overlap between the two.
-
Oh ok that makes sense Wade. I didn't know there were 2 "commitees" working on the pictures and which were to be used and which weren't going to be made into thumbnails on the page.
-
keep looking for more matt. YOur on 24 hour watch. Im trusting you.
-
Don't blink! They can update the site at any moment. We cannot miss a minute of update-ness!
-
I will make sure I keep up with changing the numbers on the images looking for hidden pictures. I should get a title "Hidden Picture Finder"
-
Or your own forum/topic devoted to hidden pictures.
-
Two more construction pictures in the gallery:
Lift Hill (http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photogallery/43a.jpg)
Cable Lift Motor in Place (http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/photogallery/44a.jpg)
-
resembles MF if you ask me. That is another good shot of the lift hill. Now i want to see some turnaround and droppage.
-
Well there are no hidden pics that I found of the new update so no turnaround or drop as of yet. Just a matter of time.
-
That is a steep lift!
Ha, I showed my girlfriend that picture and shes like thats a steep drop!
-
Nice picture of the lift.
Nick- It does resembele MF, but there is one difference....MF's is under lift, while this appears after the hairpin turn.
-
Actually the Wheel looks like it is right in position. The picture is just decieving. In that picture the lift goes from right to left. It stops where contruction is currently at.
(lets see if this works without a monospaced font)
.....__
....|XX\
....|XXX\
....|XXXX\
....|XXXXX\
(ok it's a little steeper than it's supposed to be. Imagine a 60? lift hill!)
-
The wheel is right at the end of the lift hill. It was in place for the topping I know there is a picture of it floating around here somewhere and its also on the main page of Insider.
-
This picture? I was surprised to see that the lift has reached the cable already. It would seem they have picked up the pace. :D

-
It sure has!
-
But its moving so SLOW!
They sure are moving quick now :)
-
no one believes us still wade. Sigh.
Its on schedule people!
-
Hey, I was there to and I believe. But you can't tell me once you haven't said to yourself "That's it so far" October 1st till Now, with 87 days left to go. We see the massive amount of work done, but not everyone sees it that way. They want the whole thing up already., not just the lift hill. Me, I just want them to Build it right so when it does open it will have minimal or no down time at all.
-
But its moving so SLOW!
Now THAT is funny!
-
Me, I just want them to Build it right so when it does open it will have minimal or no down time at all.
I agree with you. I just want this thing to run great this year.
-
I have a strong feeling that there will be little to no flaws in the ride and there will be minimal downtime during the '06 season. There are many woodies and most of them have been around for a while so we know how they work. It should be great to have it run optimally for the entire season.
-
The only thing that bothers me is the cable lift.
-
The only thing that bothers me is the good ol' state of New Jersey.
The ride could finish on time and take another month to pass inspection.
-
ugh, thanks wade.
I know bubba.. but i figure that if i have hope maybe other people will
-
no one believes us still wade. Sigh.
Its on schedule people!
Don't worry Nick, I believe you and Wade. The lift of coarse is probably the hardest part next to the station because it is more componants than just the track.
-
This thing should rocket once they get down the lift and the first drop. Its not like the drop is right after the lift so theres an extra what? 50-100 ft. of track for the turn. Once they get this section done, it will be ahead of schedule.
-
I know from GADV's perspective it is right on time, but in 2 months we still have no platform to the station, no transfer track, the lift has just been completed but 1/2 without track, we have no queue whatsoever, station still needs some fixing up....oh and not to mention 3 camelbacks in a row over 100ft, all with pretty large structures. Then we got another 1,000ft or so to go before brake run. Then we got testing, etc....
I do not know what time table GADV has set up so this is on time, but there is no way this thing is gonna be open for April 1st IMO. Even if they do move at the speed they have since it was topped off....that isn't much. It has advanced about 20ft, with a little added to the strcuture, in yes, 2 full weeks. Construction times MUST be made up after this lift/drop is completed, or we are looking at a end of April opening at the earliest.
-
^So what if it opens at the end of april? It will still open. I figure let them take their time and make sure they do their work right. That way we dont have any break downs or atleast major ones. It will definately be open before june. This thing will be sweet but we must be patient right now.
-
Even if they do rush, there is a great chance this thing will work flawlessly. Both Colossos and Balder are very reliable, and we are using a lift system very similar to Goliath at Walibi, which works very well. The only thing they shouldn't rush is programming the ride and not messing that up like S:UF. The actual structure, as long as part of it doesn't collapse liek SoB, can be somewhat rushed.
PS- If it opens in late April, that is an extra few weeks before I get my first taste of that sweet ejector airtime in nearly 2 years
-
I hope they don't rush it either to get it open, but I still think itll open between April 1st and May 1st. Not sure when but sometime between then. The footers are all in place and the bents are together, all they have to do is put them up and they are good to go.

Its the way construction always is. Theres always going to be delays and what not. Just gotta sit them out and wait. Thats all.
-
I agree with Tmac. There is a lot to be done, but some of these parts can be done rather quickly. I think as soon as the big hills are done, the ride will really speed up. The only part they may give them a little trouble is the crossing over in RT's infield. However, you also have to think about PDC, which all has to be done as well. I have a feeling GAdv wasn't shooting for opening day anyway. Them saying "right on schedule" could mean the ride being completed in April, May, June whatever. We will just have to wait and see

But they are not delayed, they are on schedule  The big question is on schedule for what opening. That is the big question.
Personally, I'm excited just to finally get some rides on KK (only got 2 after waiting a total of 10+ hours last year).
-
Of course the ride is scheduled to debute opening day. The debute of carnival and BBNP are obviously not however.
-
If it was scheduled to be open on opening day, they wouldn't have generalized it as Spring 2006. I also don't see them opening ET before the PDC, but rather the other way around (assuming PDC is ready before ET).
-
King was a MAJOR construction roller coaster. It also had to have rigerous testing and had to be approved which took awhile.
El Toro isnt going to be as bad (i hope) as long as we dont get harsh weather from here on out. Most of the work will be done on El toro before PDC starts to take shape i think. It doesnt look as though anything was touched just yet.
-
I agree, KK took a long time because of its stature. But, I knwo for a fact S:UF took about 2 weeks of testing before opening day, and most coasters take 1-3 weeks of testing.
I think they would wait until spring break time (April 5th-20th area) to open ET and PDC together, rather than opening one or the other 1-3 weeks earlier when both aren't ready together.
-
and thats going to be a hard call to make because i have first hand seen very litle work on PDC. I dont know what they plan to do.. but they have a long way to go.
-
I have high hopes for PDC, but the only problem I see ahead is they have to wait for ET's first half to be completed as the coaster goes right through the PDC. But, GK went up really quickly, and that construction started late. Also, take into consideration PDC is smaller, and yeah....
-
Construction looks like its moving at a steady pace!
-
The Golden Kingdom did go up pretty fast even though construction on it started late. I think that PDC will go up quicker than everyone thinks it will go up. It might open a bit later than El Toro does, but it won't be that much later. I am sure Six Flags has a plan on what they should do and how its going to work based on a certain number of bad weather days.
-
How can El Toro open but not PDC? Do you mean it will be finished before the other or they are going to shut down the area just like it is now? How will you ride El Toro if the area is closed and is the only enterance to the ride?
-
The theming doesn't need to be complete to open the ride. They could just leave construction barriers up along the path to RT/ET if they needed to...
-
Thats what i was thinking. But they wouldnt leave a whole section closed unless theres no pathway to reach El Toro by, you know? I want to ride RT. Then El Toro and compare the air time. I bet you know whos going to win.
-
Well, I'll try to ask but somehow, I doubt they will be willing to share this type of info (if they even know).
I am really curious to see how they handle this as well. I guess they could just get the pathways finished and keep temp fencing in place in front of the stores and buildings until they are done.
-
I think they are pretty improve when it comes to this stuff. So ofcourse they wont have an answer in January
-
S:UF opened and it didn't have much up, it was a nice mud field, so it is possible.
-
But you have to remember.. there was never an extensively themed area planned for SUF. Actually, it looks like a pretty terrible job ifyou ask me..
wait till shapiro sees how unbalanced our park is when it comes to theming. From brilliant, to eye sore :D
-
Two new pictures on there site!

Ah it looks so huge. I can't wait to see it in person. Its gonna be amazing.
-
That's a great picture, it's almost as who ever took that shot it is laying down on the ground.
-
ALSO new journal update
Jan. 6, 2006 - Despite recent inclement weather, progress continues for the erection of El Toro's supports and track placement. Earlier this week, column 58 was topped off at 188 feet. We are currently at a height of 97 feet through column 63. Column 63 is the area where the track starts to turn between the lift hill and the first drop.
Phase 1, 2 and 3 of ride foundations at the lift and station area are substancially complete. Phase 4 foundations which run along the Lahaway Creek, then makes the turn behind Wildside Pizza is 65% complete. Engineering for the final foundation phases 5 and 6 have been completed and are in fabrication for reinforcing.
Al Rubano, Director of Construction
-
pretty cool stuff. Although the ride is not showing vertical progress aside from the lift hill.. all of the footers are nearly finished already. I have a good feeling that the rest of the track is going to go up quickly.
-
Me too. With all the footers and everything in place the coaster will go up very fast. I know there are airtime hills, but I am sure they planned it out so that everything would go up really quickly. They know their deadline, whatever it may be and I am sure they will meet it. I am hoping and looking forward to an opening day ride on ET.
-
You have to remember that the pouring the footers is the most important work to do right now. You can erect framing when it's low temperature and snowy but you can't pour concrete. This winter has been very beneficial to construction with all the unseasonably warm days.

Just throw more hay on it and some plastic to keep it warm.(the concrete) I just hope it's not snowing April 1st.

What are they doing on RT?
-
That structure is so tall. Is one thing seeing a number on paper.. but seeing a picture of it next to RT is striking.
It would appear as though they ran out of lumber for ET.. and decided to takesome from RT. :D
I think theyre track walking.. possibly tuning it up a bit? Who knows.. but any work on RT is for the better. Imagine if they really fixed it up nice for the debute of ET. Than we would have not 1 but 2 classic woodies giving wonderful rides.
-
I am guessing there pouring footers for the crossover near RT and maybe gettting it ready for it?? I dont know, maybe some knows..
-
your probably right. Where does ET actually cross? Im sure theyre going to begin erection there shortly.. they look like theyre prepping for it.
-
As far as I know, ET is crossing over RT's first drop both times.
-
Those are some nice pics :D You can see from one of the pics that the turn at the top of the lift will be slanted. Along with the speed from the cable, the slightly downward turn will give you even some more speed going down that drop :D Oh man I can't wait to time this thing.
-KKR05

Jan. 12, 2006 With the mild weather we?re experiencing in central New Jersey, the size of El Toro?s massive structure increases daily. Over the last couple days, the first bent in the curve at the top of the lift hill (#63) was erected to completion.
Workers are busy throughout the entire construction site. The electrical underground conduit, which will run the motor control room, is nearly 40% completed. Storm sewer and sanitary relocation will be starting soon along with installation of the underground air lines necessary for the ride?s braking system.
The layout for Phase 5 foundation work has been started. Phase 5 is the area inside Rolling Thunder?s track where El Toro crosses over and continues along Rolling Thunder?s return track .

Nick you couldn't have said it better yourself. That was my first reaction after seeing these pictures. A number is one thing, but a picture is worth 1,000 words.
-
Picture 46a is sweet. In fact, all those pictures make me forget about price increases and re entry non sense. I will be on that all day long!
-
No hidden pictures that I could find though. They must have realized what people were doing and just uploaded the ones they wanted to use on the Great Adventure site.
-
Good pics.
So who got snow? It's been snowing here for about 3 hours and it is coming down HARD. Hopefully it won't slow down Toro, but so far it seems like they have been doing a great job with the weather conditions.
-KKR05
-
No snow, flurries and bitter cold at 10 degrees. Just look at my site kind of like that
-
Light now here but lots of ice. But I am in NYC so prob different than in Jackson.
-
This weekend was really strange. I seriously thought a hurricane was roaring through (which I should know about after being in FL for Francis). The wind was ripping through harder than I remember in recent memory for NJ. I then wake up Sat to learn that we were in a tornado watch area  .
Then, Saturday night, the wind kicks up even more. I could hear the ice pelting my windows. We woke up for church early Sunday expecting to dig out, clear the cars, etc. and find almost NOTHING on the ground. Just some ice on the grass and car windows (the sliding doors wouldn't open either) but the roads and walks were clear.
BUT, after driving up 295N for 10 miles to the haddonfield-berlin road exit for Church, I was completely shocked that the roads were completely covered and there was at least 4 inches on the ground. The roads were solid ice. You could barely drive on them.
This was a really strange and spotty storm. Hopefully it didn't affect El Toros construction much and even better would be if Jackson was one of the spots like my town that didn't get hit at all!
-
The wind here in Jackson made everything very interesting. In my development, there was 4" some places, piles of ice elsewhere, and nothing other places.
I just hope the high winds didn't have any effect on the partially finished structure! <knocks on wood>
-
The wind gust were up to 50 mph. I cant believe there was 4 inches of snow only 8 miles away when there was nothing outside my house except a dusting.
In any case, these guys get paid pretty well and I don't see it effecting them that much since this storm happened over the weekend. They will just have to bundle up and wear more clothes.
-
Near me, it was pouring all day Saturday and then around 10pm that night it changed over and it was like a blizzard till about 8am the next morning. We must of got like 2-4 inches here...
-
Factor in the icing that took place at night. It was so weird. Hopefully no damage was done to El Toro.
-
5 trees fell in town. But our snow was gone by morning. We got less than an inch.
The weird thing.. i saw Narnia.. and when i walked out.. sure enough it was snowing. I thought that was kind of cool.
Ocean City however got about a half a foot. I was down there today. Interesting to see the snow covered boardwalk
-
Wow...when I got up on Sunday there was basically no snow left. Saturday night it was coming down pretty hard, but in the morning, there was barely anything there. Late Sunday, basically everything transformed to ice because of the rain over the past few days. Now, it is still pretty icy out, but most of the snow is gone. I was excepting a little more than that...
-KKR05
-
i posted pictures of OC in the misc. forum.
Lets hope that the nasty weather as of recent hasent slowed the building process any. I dont think north got much snow at all though.
-
Er I got a decent amount up here, about 5 inches or so.

for some reason they are not coming up
Jan. 19, 2006 The high winds and rain this week were definitely a challenge. We continued erection to bent 65 at the curve of the lift hill. We started erection at column lines 101 to 107 which runs parallel with the station pass the invert of the first drop. Foundation will continue through phase four and layout continues for phase five and six.
Foundation work for retail structures such as the ride photo building and merchandise kiosks will begin in the near future.

Awesome shot!
-
sounds like in a few days were going to see the completed turnaround.
Granted the winds have been awful around here, but at least it has been warm and dry for the most part.
-
Almost too warm. Comparing this to the tatsu constuction, it is behind. Then again Tatsu has many advantages over El Toro for construction. Wasn't this coaster suppose to be a plug-n-play? They need to plug their minds in and get this coaster to be playful. :(
-
Nice pics, but I don't really see much progress.
Well today I was looking at an article I cut out of a newspaper when ET was announced, and saw that Diana was in it. It was pretty crazy, lol :D
*This was the Home News Tribune

Bents for the first drop are starting to shape up!!
-
Nice pics, but I don't really see much progress.
When they say bent erection, this means that most of the constructon happens on the ground. WE saw a bent go vertical one day and it was asite to see. Most roller coasters as we have explained.. go right up vertical.. but these a re erected from the ground because it is apparently easier this way. We'll see bents 101-107 go up fast in the next few days bearing the weather.
the most important thing as i have stated.. footers are almot 100%
-
? I meant from the last time they updated the pics.

Anyone have any clue how El Toro is doing?
-
There's a new update--the usual two pictures and a journal entry--on the official site, which is labeled as Feb. 4th for some reason. I wish they'd show drop construction, though!
-
Hey Pashacar, welcome to updates!
Chuck, I suspect something might be mentioned this weekend at Eastcoaster. We have actually been reluctant to do any updates because there is nothing to update on
-
New update:

Track running parallel of station
(http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/images/63.jpg.jpg)
Work continues in the "twister" portion
Now, I wonder how the lift looks like. I wanna see this drop!!
-
Great update. It's nice to see other areas of the coaster than the lift hill. It provides a certain ease that things are getting done.
-
Interesting they didnt take pictures of the drop no?
-
Interesting they didnt take pictures of the drop no?
Where is the drop no?
-
the drop simply isnt the story right now. They got pictures of the lowest part of the drop before the incline, but as far as the lift hill goes i dont believe the have gotten a whole lot more vertical construction up.
-
I was kind of thinking that maybe they have a ton of the drop done and are going to surprise us with pictures of the finished drop next time around.
Thats just me being optimistic though.
-
^ Too optimistic:

Updato nuevo: http://sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html
-
It definitely looks like there making progress with the turnaround in that shot and its good to see they have started the bottom's of the first hill.
-
The lower sections should go up VERY fast. I do really wish more of the first drop was done though. And now with this snow
-
Hopefully the snow was kinder to the partially finished El Toro than the snow and wind was to the then partially finished Son of Beast...
-
What do you mean? ^^^
-
When Son of Beast was nearing completion, the Cincinnati area had a major wind/snowstorm. A large section of the completed coaster was toppled and had to be rebuilt...This happened in early January 2ooo.
-
^     Holy S#!t, i never heard about that.
-
Yeah, that is all new to me. Crazy...
-
I imagine they are waiting on doing the first drop until after they finish the turn into RT's infield...

-
Correct. The track was already completed on the lift when we were there on Monday. The anti-rollbacks were actually being installed that day as shown here -

Flyinphil over at Source just posted this update about Toro and on BBNP. Looks like there making amazing progress!
-
Yep, this is the kind of progress I have been expecting all along. EXTREMELY fast moving now. Great job, GADV!
PS- Can't wait to see 1st drop completed....
-
Now that the complicated and tall bits are done you get to see the full power and speed of PnP.
-
I really think all the drop needs is the track to be put on.
-
What makes you think that Chuck

Provided inspection goes well, I think BBNP will be open in plenty of time for that Easter Egg hunt ;)
And Toro is moving MUCH faster now!
Thanks for the heads up :)
-
haha its not a jumping coaster.
its about time they did something with that lame mcdonalds. no one likes mcdonalds anyways. :D
-
I love that they're still not showing the first drop! I think it's great that they keep notching up the anticipation. Also, I love seeing the progress of BBNP though. Soon enough......

It was noted over on Source that the second pic is at least over a week old! If you reference GACoaster's pic here (http://www.amusementpics.com/SFGAdv%20Opening%20Day%2006/033106-058.jpg), which was taken Last weekend, it shows more progress than the pic posted today.
Otherwise, it's a good overall update to show the progress... just not up to date progress! :P
-
Yeah, I could tell as soon as I looked at the start to the turnaround. It doesn't have the part with the sick banking that we all loved to take pictures of during the tour.

(Off Topic)
So you guys know, you can get the Image Zoom (http://imagezoom.yellowgorilla.net/) Extension for Firefox that lets you zoom images right in your browser. I use it all the time and it is really helpful!
-
Thats what I'm using Firefox is #1
I also use IE7 beta for testing websites/ebay auctions.
I'm sure hoping we get some pictures or video tomorrow of some train action.
I'm reday at the drop of a dime to ride.
-
If anybody goes to the park today, be sure to check and see if the trains are on the track or still in the parking lot. It may be lousy weather but I don't think it will stop them :) .
-
I'm going to the park on Wednesday for the entire day, I will have my camera on hand, and will keep my fingers crossed to see something good... maybe it will even be testing! ::)
-
I need to get there to cash in my 2 free friends B4 May coupons.
So may try this week or at least next midweek.
-
I'll probably head over tomorrow, was going to go today, but didn't feel like it with the rain.
-

I live in Hamilton which is 15 minutes east of the park and it rained pretty hard this morning but stopped before 10 and hasnt rained since. Its actually pretty nice out really. I think it would be a good time to shoot down there and do some rides.
-
Ill be there friday for physics day. I guess ill try to update you all but well probably have news by then.

2 weeks huh, their cutting very close considering how much they still have to do. I have a vacation request form standing by for that magical moment when they announce the date. My supervisors have been "warned". 8)
-
Good Update Bubba! I like the signage on the station. Looks really good in my opinion. And its a good thing they didnt unwrap those cars today, they would have puddles in them majorly.
-
Yep 2 weeks.
I will be riding the bull that Tuesday am or sooner I'm ready now.
Thanks for the update.
They can get it done as long as the state cooperates.
-
Well.. enjoy the opening guys.

Niceeee. I'm heading this weekend and when it opens in 2 weeks. Man, this is gonna be a great ride.

Great new update from the park. This is the final stretch for El Toro. Just a week or so left, and we'll finally be riding this beast! When you think about it, we've been awaiting this coaster for about a full year now, due to that leaked German newspaper. It's certainly been a long way. I can't wait to get on this thing!
-
i've been thinking about that newspaper article recently, does anybody remember CC 05.
Kristen S: I'm not answering any questions about 2006!
someone in back: you don't have to, a german newspaper told us everything. It's all over the internet.
-
^ Somebody is pulled out alot of hair translating the German!
I just hope none of the water dummies dont lose their heads or fall out during testing! I don't wanna hear the GP say stupid rumors again, even though....it was funny... ;D
-
^German is actually really easy to read. Sometimes you need the translator for the slang words.
So now that El Toro is finishing up its construction, what do you think is next on their agenda? A little rehab on RT in minor ways?
-
I think they are going to start working on the path to the bridge that connects El Toro and Medusa which will be so much nicer to have that open. Let's hope that gets open soon because it gets rid of the dead end at that end of the park.
This message has been posted from my Blackberry.
-
I hope we see the trains rolling on Monday Tomorrow.
It's cutting it close.
I hope it's open by next Tuesday the 30th.
