Now that "Green Lantern" is at the park, what type of coaster would you like to see at the park next? As for me, I'd like to see a new indoor coaster. Something more thrilling then "THE DARK KNIGHT Coaster" and "Skull Mountain". I'm all about themeing, so I would also like to see the coaster be highly themed. Something like "Revenge of the Mummy" at Universal or "Rock en Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith" at Disney World. The best spot for it would be where Chiller used to be I think. There or on the Boardwalk replacing the old motion simulator building. I think Chiller's area has more room though. Anyway, how about you guys?
-
Highly themed won't happen at a seasonal park. Mummy is 2x the cost of a typical six flags coaster.
With that said, we need another woodie that does something other than what Toro does. And in a different part of the park.
-
I agree with Wade! Hire GCI or GG and get a nice twister style woodie in the park.
-
WadeJ, I'm not saying the same themeing as "Mummy". It could be the same type of themeing Dark Knight and Bizarro have. Mist, fire, preshow, lights, statues, etc.
-
A nice GCI twister through the woods would be nice.
-
Agreed
If we had a New Wood Coaster that wasn't the highest fastest steepest BUT
traveled through the woods, underground like The Voyage or
a mid sized kick ass coaster like Worlds of Fun - Prowler
at a tiny cost of only 8 million or more as Wade and others put it
would be a great addition
Location Behind and around the Rapids down the hill and through the trees and along the LAKE
Do you here us Six Flags we don't need 30 million coaster gives us a Prowler,Legend,Raven,Voyage,Thunderhead,Mountain Flyer http://youtu.be/BG_WdFTcSHI (http://youtu.be/BG_WdFTcSHI)

^ can't build there or anywhere closer than nitros hammerhead gets to the lake. Any where past that is wetlands and u can't build there
-
There is plenty of room where koala canyon used to be.
-
Start in Koala Canyon's former home, hop over into Congo Rapid's infield for a Twister section, and back over again to come back to the station. Preferably Gravity Group. We need some of their lovin on the East Coast.
-
That sounds good!
-
Either that or some obvious wood we can see. I love the ideas we all think up but the reality is it's a pipe dream. Gone are the days of rides going through the woods and over crazy terrain. Just far too expensive compared to the flat available land they have. Honestly, they could put a GREAT twister if they leveled what's left of chiller and used that entire corner where free fall was, etc. They could then reopen the bumper cars and m express. But whatever. Anything that requires excess expense like hauling supplies into the park, working inside the park with trees and so on seem to be outside of this new regimes mind set.
-
I still would love to see a GG woodie that ran through the woods along the lake. Something even close to Voyage-like would be absolutely awesome.
-
There is plenty of room next to Ka in the parking lot for next coaster.
Not that I wouldn't love to see Reggies idea become a reality!
Is it me or is anyone else just not feeling the park this year?
I've only been to the park 3 times this year.
-
My wife and daughter haven't even activated their season passes yet :(. No, we aren't either. I've been there twice outside of the misc. media events.
It doesn't seem to have the same vibe. I'm not saying they are doing a bad job. It just seems like more of a transition year where there are too many people that need to relearn how things operate.
I doubt they feel the same way but a big part of that missing vibe IMO is the GITPP going bye bye :(.
-
Never bought a season pass this year (been very busy)
Been to the park just once for Misc. contrut. tour
Parking turned me off
But may go with a company picnic in OCT
-
It's crazy, I might not go to this park at all this year. It's nothing like my 2004, 2005 and 2006 years where I went 20+ times.
-
Well, you just HAD to be in Europe...
:P
-
I know what Six Flags could use. How about a new launch coaster? Not as fast as Kingda Ka, but like Chiller. Indoor, themed, and blacklights. Just like Rock'n'Roller Coaster at Disney World.
-
^Flight of fear?
-
^Is Fight of Fear indoor?
-
^Yes.
-
^So is *Flight* of Fear.
rj "typos are funny" holla2003
-
FYI - Flight of Fear is also Jokers Jinx at Six Flags America just without the enclosure.
I actually have to agree with this one. Obviously Ka aside, it would be nice to have a fun launch coaster.
-
Kingda Ka is a great ride, but I think a launch coaster that is not trying to break records or be extream would be cool. I also think it should be indoor because I think the park needs a thrilling indoor coaster. TDK and SM are great for familys, but indoor rides can be thrilling too. They also make great rides for themeing.
-
And here I actually agree with you. If we had a Flight of Fear type ride...guests wouldn't be let down. It would actually be interesting to see how the reaction is at first with the precedent with Skull Mountain and Dark Knight.
-
Yeah exactly! It should be about the same speed as Chiller's launch. I think around 60 or 70 mph. And Chiller's station and whole area should be used for this ride.
-
Last week I took a walk into the old section of Chiller and Freefall, Chillers station is just sitting there, plus it is premier rides, how much easier could it get!
-
I know most of you don't like my Claws character, but the theme would very fit the ride a lot. Claws is now a action/adventure film and he is a superhero type character. He's got cool villains, and the ride would fit perfectly in Movietown and with the rest of the collection of superhero themed coasters.
-
Seriously dude! Give it up! The park would never go for it no matter how hard you try!
-
Well easy it does it. Anything is a possibility after all...
As for Movietown, There is alot you can do with movietown. You could pick movies and then theme each ride appropriately...In example, Speed or Avatar, anything is possible. You could also use one of the rides to promote upcoming movies for some kind of sponsorship deal.
-
People who think I am still asking Six Flags to make the ride, know that is not the case. I don't know if Six Flags, Disney, or Universal will even make the ride. But if the story becomes a film, there is a very good chance that a ride will come afterwords and open around the movie's opening like THE DARK KNIGHT Coaster did with the movie. I am simply posting my ideas on here. Don't look at it as "Oh it's not going to happen!", look at it as just an idea.
