Alright, basically this is a game. Which you throw up a picture and see who guesses the coaster. The picture can be changed or edited to make it harder. Also, if you guess the coaster right, you have to pick a new coaster.
I will start...

-
Nitro... Heres a tuffy im looking for what actual coaster this is
Removed cause choice was wrong*

You got it! The Dania Beach Hurricane at Boomers! in Fort Lauderdale. What a great coaster it is! I thought the palm trees could've given it away. Ha.
Your turn!
Pete
-
Yeah, it was the palm trees that gave it away.
OK, how about this one:
-
Is it the Sea Dragon at Wyandot Lake in Ohio?
Pete

-
Tig'rr at Indiana Beach.

http://image63.webshots.com/163/7/53/82/454175382WIBXmq_ph.jpg
-
ghost rider?
-
Nope... Ghost Rider wouldnt really have the wooded area around it... I'll give clues... It's pretty large, in the US, and is in a big park chain...
-
Boss at SFStl
-
I'm stumped on this one. I think Chuck's guess of the Boss is really good though. Oh well....
Pete
-
Sorry for the delay, I was gone for 3 days in a work-related cclass...
Chuck is right though, it's the Boss... I guess he looked at my Webshots????
Go ahead Chaz.
-

-
Robin Hood?
-
jgakl;hf;laksdhfklhasdf
Geez, I thought that would be a hard one!!
-
Haha... I guess looking at contrsuction pics of it being built helped...
Try this one...
-
Ok, if it doesn't show up, right click on it, and hit view image..
Hint...
Height: 108 feet
Drop: 118 feet
Top speed: 59 mph
It's in the US as well...
-
Villain at Geauga Lake.
-
Yes. Your turn.
-
This one should be easy:
-
Balder? Maybe?
-KKR05
-
Geez, I suck at woodies. I have no clue :x
-
I love lamp.
Anyway... I think he was right with Balder???
-
Nope. I'll give a clue later this afternoon.
-
OK, first clue, it is in the US
-
Is that SFA's Roar?
-
Nope.
Clue #2: It is at an indepentently owned park.
-
Clue #3: The park is in the Eastern US.
-
Those clues are leaning me toward Hershey. Is it Lightning Racer or Wildcat?
-KKR05
-
You have to pick one.
Clue #5: it runs PTC trains.
-
Williams Grove Cyclone? (You said it was obvious!)
-
Nope, still not it (I really didn't think it would be this hard).
I think tomorrow's clue should give it away.
-
Lakemonts Skyliner?
-
I'll go with Wildcat then...
-KKR05
-
Nope, sorry, still don't have it.
Clue #6: The coaster was built "in house"
-
Cyclone at Astroland.
-
That kinda gave it away lol
Twister @ Knoebels
-
I knew it would. Yup, it is the Twister.
-
I was so busy with the updates that I almost forgot lol
Give this a try -
(http://img2.postimage.org/153445/guess.jpg) (http://img2.postimage.org/forums/gadvupdates/153445/guess.html)
-
Kentucky Rumbler at Beech Bend
-
You suck LOL
I thought I would throw everybody off by reversing the picture. But then after posting it I realized you can easily tell there is no track just yet.
Your turn.... again
-
Lol that definitly just set the record for fastest correct answer.
-
Wow you guys are good. I could never have figured half of these out alone.
-
I just looked at it and knew right away what it was. It was definately the missing steel that gave it away.
Anyway, give this one a go:
-
Crud, that coaster is now on Funtown Pier in Seaside! Frissbeeking knows the original name of it and I don't! :o
-
If its the one on Funtown Pier then it was Mighty Mouse at Playland.
-
^ I think your thinking of Mighty Mouse ... but the cars are different. Not sure if it's the same coaster.
-
Sorry guys, that's not it.
-
It's the same type of coaster... just a little different... but I'm still lost on the name... give me some time and I'll get back to ya!
-
Clue #1: It is NOT in the US.
-
Clue #2: It is in Canada
and because I didn't post a clue yesterday;
Clue #3: This ride is the only one built by the company that built it, and also that company has the same name as an Ivy League university in NJ.
-
That was a good one Nate. But the last clue really gave it away :)
Its the Wild Mouse at Playland Vancouver
http://rcdb.com/ig321.htm?picture=1
-
Yup, figured it would, that is it. Nothing like an old mouse to throw some folks off.
-
This should be rather easy:
(http://img2.postimage.org/171853/guessme.jpg) (http://img2.postimage.org/forums/gadvupdates/171853/guessme.html)
-
Looks like Batwing at SFA, but I am sure its not.
-
Viper @ SFMM
-
nope & no 8)
-
Looks a lot like corkscrew@CP
-
^ Nah Corkscrew has the old-school Arrow supports.
I wanna say either Corkscrew @ VallyFair!
or
Shockwave @ SFGA
If I can only guess one, take Corkscrew.
-
Kinda surprised that nobody is warm yet.
Hint will be coming soon.
-
Xpress at Walibi World
It took me a while to think of the park's new name. I thought it loked like that Vekoma Superman though.
-
Yup - the outdoor rockin rollercoaster :)
http://www.rcdb.com/ig769.htm?picture=4
-
Damn you guys are good. :)
-
its some superman ride
-
Yes, it was formally known as Superman before Six Flags sold the park ;)
Nate, your turn 8)
-
awww
-
Superman vs. Vekoma? Who's made of more steel? Who can withstand the ViBrAtIoN?!
-
Sorry, I've been in the midst of moving and gotten a little behind. I'll throw an easy one at you (that is what I said last time, right ;))
-
Yea real easy
-
William Grove's Cyclone??
-
Boulderdash?
-KKR05
-
Since I read all your trip reports and check out the photos on smugmug it's Rollo Coaster at Idlewild Park. Now the really hard part is to Come up with a coaster myself......
Ok found one
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v490/FunnelCake/IMG_1607.jpg)
-
Face Off at PKI
-
Wow, with the quickness. Was it that easy ?

-
(http://photobucket.com/albums/v490/FunnelCake/?action=view¤t=IMG_0119.jpg)
-
Next time you post an image make sure it is the direct link to the image and not the Photobucket page it is located on. Just a bit of advice. Here is your picture:
-
Dania Beach Hurricane

http://img18.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sddsds4ru.png
-
What kind of stunt is that?
-
Its cop car chase in movie park germany. Looks like an amazing ride. Just too bad both sides are cop cars and not cop vs. villian. It even has inversions. Its very awesome. Alright heres my coaster.
-
Well it's clearly an Intamin looper...
It looks indoor so it must be Supersonic Odyssey @ Cosmo's World.
-
Superman: El Ultimo Escapo(I think thats how you spell it) at SFM.

Clementon Park Jack Rabbit?
-
Clementon Park Jack Rabbit?
That would be my guess, noticing the seemingly overgrown station and Nick's love for JR.
-
Clementon Park Jack Rabbit?
haha awesome guess dude. This is my photography/edit job of the once great clementon park jack rabbit. This is all thats really left of the station. They put fences up and just flat out hid the thing from plain view.

-
Finally caught up on things...
(http://upload2.postimage.org/121076/guess1.jpg) (http://upload2.postimage.org/121076/photo_hosting.html)

^ looks like you're right...(RCDB)Comet, Wood Sit Down from 1954 to 1981.
-
Here you go guys.
Good luck.
-
Rock N' Roll Coaster at MGM.
Just a little hint, you can just tell from the link from the picture.
-
Yes, Nascar48 got it.
-
How do you change the that then if you can?
-
Okay I got one............
Good luck guys!!!! ;)
Posted on: October 12, 2006, 01:50:01 pm
I will give you guys one little hint. It was built in 1937. Ohh and its not in a major park........
-
Wasn't it my turn???
I have no freaking clue though...
-
sorry Chuck!!!!!!...okay but here is another clue........the park its in is a small family park located in PA.
-
Gotta be Blue Streak
-
Cunneut Blue Streek?
-
^ No I mean this one
Blue Streak - Conneaut Lake Park
-
Both of you are correct....
-
Chuck, you have 24hrs to post or I'll go for you since we skipped you're turn last time
.Wasn't it my turn???
-
Okay I'll go.
-Dainan "This should be easy" Rafferty
-
Medusa at SFMW
-
ummmmm...is it scream? at majic mountain????
-
I was going to say Medusa at SFMW but chuck beat me to it.
-
yeah... the "other" medusa. Ours is better by the way. haha
-
Chuck gets it!
-
Chuck is taking too long... try this one...
-
Ugh, thanks Pablo!
-
Wrong, This coaster isn't called Thanks Pablo... nice try though ;)
-
Save the whale! Oh, too late :(
Its the Flyer Comet at Whalom Park. If I'm not mistaken, this ride was finally put to rest just within the last few weeks after SBNO for 6 years.
-
Within the last few weeks?
Try Wednesday.
Very, very sad.
And for what? Condos. More condos.
-
I figured you "veteran enthusiasts" would get this faster than the rest of us...
Truely sad to see this one go as I never got to give it a whirl. I heard it was good fun though!
Your turn Wade (or should we give it back to Chuck)?
-
nah, Chuck takes too long :D
Not sure how easy this will be...
-
Not really sure... I wanted to say J2 but the 2nd hill looks too long... I'm stumped.
-
Alrighty, first hint - It's in the USA but NOT in the North East.
-
LOL Judge Roy Scream?? Didn't someone just have this coaster on here a few pages ago?
-
We are on page 23 so I have no freaking clue. It was probably me since the pic was just sitting on my desktop LMAO
I was like, hmmmm, this looks good. Nobody will think of JRS
Your turn lol
Here is the original:
-
Yeah Ive actually been searching through the pages looking for it... got as far back as page 12 and didn't see it, oh well... give me a few minutes.. I'll find a good one!
Posted on: October 24, 2006, 07:33:25 pm
(http://gadvupdates.com/gallery/albums/Frissbeking/guessme2.jpg)
Clue #1... this ride is still operating.
-
See, thats why I don't use RCDB.com for my picture source LOL
Its the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake 8)
-
LOL! I changed the name and everything... I thought I had this one in the bag... go ahead Wade.
Why don't we just do this over AIM since it's just you and I? :)
-
nah, then everybody else wouldn't know what dorks we are :D Plus, this is very educational lol
I think this is the first "support only" picture posted in here but techincally, they belong to a coaster ;)
-
Woodstock Express?
-
nope
-
I have a feeling its an Intamin... but I really can't tell. :(
-
These poles were erected some time between 1980 and 2000... does that even help? lol
-
So was I :)
And no, doesn't really help.
-
LMAO are you drinking to???
alrighty, how about (since we obviously aren't giving anybody else a chance to answer) its NOT a Intamin.
-
No drinking today, even though I'm bored out of my mind, so that's an idea! ;D Just kidding... anyway, I'll have to let someone else guess this as I'm stumped... they don't even look familiar! :(
-
This coaster resides in a corporate owned park in North America and at one point, broke a record.....
-
Iron Dragon!!!!
-
Well, this should totally give it away - you got the right manufacturer
-
Magnum
-
ding ding lol
here is the original
-
:) My turn again... will be back in about 2 hours though..
-
2 hours later... ::)
-
Too easy.
It's in Arkanthaw.
Itth called Twithter.
Perhaps the most boring wooden roller coaster I have ever ridden.
(and that is what the original hats called it...the real ride name is Arkansas Twister...at Magic Springs, near Hot Springs.)
-
Easy for you to say! LOL
It's a shame it's boring, it actually looks like it could have potential, especially with some more trees closer, and some night rides... ah well. Your turn buddy!
-
I'm going to let you have at it! :) Consider it a Six Flags Summer Celebration present!
-
HaHa... I'll give it to Chuck since he got screwed before...
-
(http://gadvupdates.com/gallery/albums/ChuckR/hhh.sized.jpg)
-
Must be my day.
Coaster at Vancouver, BC.
One of the best wooden roller coasters I've ever ridden. That's aluminum siding tacked on the side of it....for a film many years ago!
Now Chuck can take my turn posting! :)
-
^ Or god as my friends from the midwest call it!
-
It's a Phare ride!
-
I knew either you or Rob would get that no problem.
-
Chuck.... we're waiting (taps fingers on desk)
-
*crickets*
-
I just saw a tumbleweed roll by...
-
Whats with me getting picked on? Geez..........
-
We wouldn't bug you if we didn't like ya!
It's your turn to put something up for Guess The Coaster, as this old coot doesn't know how and doesn't want to be bothered (it's more fun guessin', though I can stop that if you wish!)
--GADVwow, who's ridden too many of the dern things, if that's possible (yeah, right)
-
(http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/3329/rollercoaster3be6.jpg)
-
Roller Coaster or newly named Nightmare in 2006... at Joyland, in Kansas. Nice try though Chuck, I'm unstoppable.
-
So Rob, when will we see the next picture ???
-
I want a cookie. I didn't say nuttin as I didn't want to post a peecture. :)
-
I give up....
-
So I guess I shouldn't tell Chuck about that wonderful PTC train with FIXED lapbars?
-
I wont be able to access my computer for the next 2 days... someone else can have it, the first one who puts a picture up, gets it!
-
Try this one:
-
I guess I'm not unstoppable!
I cant figure this out... I have an idea, but I can't figure out the name of the ride... Ithink it was in an allergy commercial a few years back... and it was on the cover of one of my math books back in HIgh School
-
Ha! I win!
Alright first hint, it is a Vekoma.
-
It's called HorrorExpress... It's located Kumdori Land in South Korea! Eat it Silver Bullet! :)
-
It sounds like "Land of the Lost" :)
-
Errrrrrrr.... I hate you.
-
Okay, I'll go, being as it seems this topic died!
-Dainan "Good luck" Rafferty
-
Ok i'll take a crack at it, though i'm probably wrong....
Alucinakis @ Terra Mitica
-
Youa re wrong!
-
Is it wood or steel?
-
It looks steel because of the over hang on the lift. I'm Thinking it's a Togo stand up since he just got back from Japan. I really have no clue. That orange train looks pretty big that might help someone out.
-
Im going to guess its a roller coaster
-
Yes it's a coaster. Japan has something to do with it. It's a steel, and made by Schwartzcopf!
-Dainan "Similar name to a Vekoma" Rafferty
-
That did it for me...
The ride is Great Russian Mountain at Wonder Island.
-
wow, I guess totally wrong with the country and train maker. Nice job Chuck
-
Do I get points for spelling Schwarzkoph without checking any source?
Edit for points :
Here you go 25 points ;D
-
Great! :) Just a few more and I can get free parking at Holiday World!
-
That has got to be one of the coolest looking mine train circuits I've seen lol
-
I'll start this one up again!
-
kind of looks like laser at dorney but that would be too easy . thinking i am worng HUH .
-
No Laser....
-
why don't you at least make it hard ::)
looping star @ Playcenter Sao Paulo.
I could tell right away it was a Schwarzkopf looping star. after that it was just a process of elimination.
-
About time someone got it!
Your up!
-
Enjoy ;D.
-
Dania Beach Hurricane?
-
(that was my guess too...but I am not totally sure...)
-
nope ;D
-
Florida Hurricane ?
-
Starliner
-
Ghost Rider.
-
I'm with frisbeeking on this.
-
Nope, nope, and nope ;D.
-
hmmm. I think the Palm Trees are throwing me off.
-
Wow, I really thought it was GhostRider... I think I even made a bet with Bubba, but don't remind him.
-
Triple Hurricane!
-
Did they recently add those palm trees?
-
Cycloneman: Nope ;D.
-
Whatch this be a real easy one too!
-
It looks like El Toro inside RT with added palm trees...
-KKR05
-
Crap, it might be El Toro. There are palm trees in the main turn around area near the plaza entrance.
-
Yeah but are they that big yet?? I don't know it could be Toro but I think the palm trees are smaller. Unless the photo was taken more toward the ground so the trees look visually taller.
-
I don't think so
trains look a little different
-
^ Yeah... the trains don't have the "horns", or shoulder pads like ET's trains... they look like PTC's...
I think Dave won with this one, EVERYONE is stumped.
-
hmmm...Dave. What state?
-
Here's one hint. April 29, 2007
-
Miracle Strip Starliner?
-
Psyclone @ SFMM
-
Now I am really confused 4/29/07 am I missing something here? Wouldn't it be 4/29/06 ?
-
No, No, and no your not missing anything. the date is correct.
-
Im going to guess that it is Top Thrill Dragster :P
-
I have no idea....
-
No Idea when will you let us know???
-
Cannonball Run at Waterville USA in Alabama. The date i posted is a reference to the Nascar race taking place in Talladega, Alabama that sunday. I was hoping there would have been at least one Nascar fan out there who would have figured that out. Once you have the state, the rest would have been easy. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)
-
You really got us good! AGAIN!
-Dainan "Who's turn now?" Rafferty
-
Worse, I've ridden the thing, recognized I'd ridden it, and couldn't place it.
It's a VERY odd coaster...to put it mildly.
-
Okay, I'll go!
-
Your recent trip to Japan was a dead give-away ::)
Rollercoaster @ Hanayashiki Amusement Park.
give me awhile to post one, unless someone else wants to try.
-
I figured it will. I loved this ride!
-
here's another one, enjoy :P.
-
just a quick guess Legend ??
-
Definately Legend!
-Dainan "100th post!" Rafferty
-
YEP!
I think i made that one too easy.
-
Yep, that coaster is...
wait for it...
legendary.
GADVwow, who will be here all week.
-
Tryin' again. ;D
(http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c349/David1969/david1.jpg)
-
Jack Rabbit at Seabreeze
-
yep :(.
-
ok my turn
(http://www.techhi.net/images/COASTER/guess/guess1.jpg)
-
The picture you post certainly seems tough
And the ride itself seems to me it rides quite rough!
But I have a guess, although its a stretch
I'll have to ask this of you, while I know it may not be quite so....uh true?..
Is this Big Dipper?
-
Which Big Dipper? If you mean the one in Huntington, WV, it most certainly isn't...
-
Then it can be taken
That I am mistaken :'(
-
one thing I can say
it's not the Big Dipper in anyway
So try try again and
Have a nice day :)
-
OK
A Clue for you
It's a Mid-Atlantic / Northeast coaster
and it's NOT called the toaster :o
-
Scooby Doo?
-
Looks somewhat like the Clementon Park Jack Rabbit.
-
No scooby doo and no Jack Rabbit
Clue # 2
I have never ridden this coaster but I have walked on it and in the park it's located at.
My mom has been on it when she was a kid.
-
Okay, this is a longshot but is it the Jack Rabbit/Screem Machine that operated in Wildwood? (under various park names)
-
Sorry no not the Wildwood coaster
See 2nd photo
-
Clue #3
in / near the Poconos
-
Rocky Springs Park Wildcat?
-
Nope
Clue # 4 it's not in Wildwood but has something to do with Wildwood
and has something to do with another park in Ohio
-
Valley Volcano in Angela Park
It's my turn now!
-Dainan "Good luck" Rafferty
-
You are correct young skywalker :)
A 1/4 mile off route 80 exit 262 so if your passing by stop and take a look click link below:
http://tinyurl.com/ytlmm9
Near Hazelton PA. (south of Scranton) Drums, Pennsylvania
my mom grew up a few miles from the park and had great stories of it.
I walked in the park years ago it's now closed. :-[
It's so sad to see all these old parks that once was, many in PA and Ohio (close to 2000 parks about 60-80 years ago)
Angela Park was an amusement park located near Hazelton, Pennsylvania. The park operated from 1956 to 1989, when many of the buildings were razed. Today, the former park serves as a training field for Lackawanna County policemen.
The park's sole roller coaster, the "Valley Volcano." Designed by John C. Allen, the coaster is nearly identical to Wyandot Lake's Sea Dragon and the Hunts pier Flyer. During the last few seasons, the park changed the number of cars operating on this coaster, as proven with photographs that show the ride with four, three, and two cars on the train.

-Dainan "Good luck" Rafferty
-
any hints ?
-
It is designed by Herbert Schmeck.
-
Jack Rabbit?
-
No
-
That is Monta?a Rusa, formerly in Cuba.
-
OK, an easy one because I really don't feel like really looking right now :P
(http://www.cyclonic.smugmug.com/photos/90354955-M.jpg)
-
I know the answer... but I'm too lazy to find a new one
Zach's Zoomer at Michigan's Adventure.
:)
-
^Nope!
Wolverine Wildcat!
-
I know the answer... but I'm too lazy to find a new one
Zach's Zoomer at Michigan's Adventure.
:)
There's not even water around Zach's Zoomer !
-
Wow.... I must have been asleep when I wrote that. I was thinking Wildcat when I wrote it, but Zach's Zoomer came up...
Oh well, at least I don't have to pick a new one ;)
-
I almost posted a correction to your answer this morning, but I think the time change did me in! :)
-
Okay I'll go!
This great black and white picture was contact printed from an old glass negative. It was brought to Ed's newsroom by an unknown man who found several exposures of the park while he was cleaning his basement sometime in the early 1980s.
-Dainan "Good luck" Rafferty
-
WOW, it could be any number of old Millers. I vote for the Greyhound at Burlington Island.
Great Picture BTW.
-
I was going to say the same thing.
-
Not Burlington
-
Im going to say it is a Coaster that nobody guessed yet
-
Giving it a second try:
Greyhound at Bay Beach amusement park
-
Is this coaster still operating? rcdb does not show it as closed but I went to the park website and there is no listing for it.

Yes, It's the Comet@ Lincoln park... I went up about two months ago for a geocache located near the fence. The lift hill is gone due to a snowstorm in 2003. This is supposedly the last year it stands before the Condos are built, but talk of that has been going for the last 5 years. If anyone goes to Cape Cod you should stop by to check it out in person.
-
I knew it!
-
Thats sad
I hate seeing these old coaster die :'(
I was thinking you went down south that what took some time ;)
Joe do you use your Garmin you had at Great Adventure ?
-
^ Yes I use my Garmin all the time. My favorite coaster cache is still the one at Lake compounce by the top of the chair lift.
I was at Carowinds last week, I still need to post those photo's!

-
Wow so sorry I missed this , I apologize !
Two Face ?

Pete
-
We have a winner, nice job Pete !
-
Nope, there are no slides next to it on Boulder Dash. I have no clue...
Chuck, don't you have this exact picture?? :)
-
Thunder Run
Look at the headrests! Legend and Bould Dash don't use those PTC trains!
-
Nice! I don't know why I thought of that. I think once Hurler was mentioned, I instantly thought about some pictures I've seen of SFKK with the water slides surrounding Thunder Run. Let's see what I can come up with.....here we go. Good Luck!
I attached the image because I can't quite figure out how to post the photo in the message. Please let me know if you can't see it or help me out. Ha!
Thanks,
Pete

Rob, you took to long to post your selection.
OK, name the coaster if you can.
I'll give you a hint: its near the water, I was never on it, and its older then me ;)

I was thinking that 2nd hill looked too big to be Dorney's Coaster. Shame on me for not guessing...
Matt's turn to trick us.
-
when the Dorney coaster kicked butt
now with the trim in the middle and near the end it kills it
Tom out
-
I still like it a lot. If you sit in the front 3 seats, it still gives quite a ride, but obviously it could be SO much better.
-
OK you guys are slow I changed it up a little
hint #1 I took this pic myself
hint #2 they added the fence from its original design
(http://www.techhi.net/images/COASTER/old/cara-700.jpg)

Camden Park?

-
Ok, well.. a worthy opponent...

here's one I took this pic myself

-
Valley Volcano at Angela Park?
-
I've googled earthed that coaster before. I can't get on defunct parks at work or I would guess.
-
Valley Volcano at Angela Park?
That's my guess too.
-
Yes my mom lived down the road. I didn't know where the park was I was just driving by and seen the park and stopped jumped out etc.
Pictures like this almost brings tears to my eyes. All the good times familes had and the kids memories growing up.
these are scans of the pictures I found
the Park is there when driving to Knoebels its only a 1/2 miles off route 80
near Drums PA. near Hazelton
That is my Bronco \/ which I don't have anymore
(http://www.techhi.net/images/COASTER/old/angela-park-800.jpg)
Yes I walked in the park and trains still in the station \/

Information was so hard to come by back then. I really wish I had known about that park. It looks like such a delightful coaster...and very different from most John Allen's....
And the park was no doubt fun.

Did Flying Phil take that?
-
yep, that's the picture I was talking about. Phil who ?
-
I figured out how I knew about Angela park, good old geocaching.
Park at N 41'02.19 W 075'57.16 Facing Angela Park there is a path to your left it is your best bet because area might be private property.
Angela Park made its debut in 1957 it was located on the east side route 309, Drums, PA north of Hazleton. The park was opened by the Barletta family of Hazleton, who named the park after their late mother Angela. The park was a 35-acre family oriented park with a small wooden roller coaster, pool, and a bunch of other fun rides. Your task is to go to the park and find the cache and relive the glory days of this small amusement park. This makes a great story for the kids. The cache is located in a Ammo Box. Try to stay off of the park's property I am not sure if it is private. Park at N 41'02.19 W 075'57.16 go towards the creek that runs towards there and make your way around the park that way. There are many pine trees it is also where the old train use to go through. There is a first to find prize in this cache since it is our first one. I hope you enjoy the cache.
Plus you can find pictures on Defunct parks.com
-
Phil... you know. Flyin Phil... you know.

-
Is that the Tornado at Adventureland in Iowa?
-
Yes. ;)
-
Knowing you and Bill Cobb, it was too easy.
You can take my turn Matt.
-
It's not Mantis. :D
(http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c352/matt515o/IMG_2775.jpg)
-
It's west of the Mrs. Sippy. ;)
-
I would guess , but that would be cheating.
-
It is the kiddie coaster at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Come on, let's keep this alive!
-
Pick another one Matt!!! Keep it alive!
-
(http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p20430.jpg)

I have no idea since I'm looking at it on a 3" screen. Maybe tomorrow lol

Wow was it that easy! Anyway your turn AV Matt!
-
I really had to think about it, but it looked familiar right away. The giveaway was the platforms for the new trim brakes. ;)
I will get back to you all with a new one, unless anyone else is ready to fill in for me.
-
Where's the flume or the water park?
Ahh. Nevermind. I guess this was taken to the left of the ferris wheel.
Ahh. Nevermind again. I see the pool chairs and the old kiddie play structure!

-
Boulder Dash.
-
Close, but no.
Ignore the color of the train. It's not the right color. Oops, did I forget to mention that? :D
-
whatever it is this looks like the back of the train and looks like you my have added the trees ?
I wish my house was as clean as yours :) the wires in the back of the TV that is
is this coaster no gone SBNO ?
-
The view is from the front seat, and the ride is currently operating (well it's hibernating for the winter now).
-
I was going to say the Ravine Flyer
but it my be to easy ?
-
His place isnt that clean/empty now Tom :)
-
we move saturday Rob , nice lap top!!! I say (The) Raven : )
-
Ravine Flyer II, it be!
-
Im going to have to disqualify any guess made by AV Matt simply because he is messing up the big solo in his avatar
-
Ha!
-
OK lets try this one
(http://WWW.techhi.net/images/COASTER/400w.jpg)
-
I know those flyers anywhere Tom :). Jackrabbit.
-
Yes they are the Flyers from Clementon Lake Park.
I'm trying to find pics of them when in operation.
I just wish they still had them I now they would sell more season passes from even people on this site.
and Yes its the - Jack Rabbit - Photo taken from the ACE 1989 Convention which was held at Dorney that year with a side trip to Clementon. THis convention was the first time I went to Knoebels.
I was talking to a few ACEers and they had a caravan going up from Dorney I they said I had to go to ride the Phoenix well I loved it.
-
I recognized the coaster based on the tubs laying around it just from seeing a similar pic on the cover of RollerCoaster 19 years ago.
-
I want to try!!! Guess this one!
Matt and Dan aren't allowed to guess this because I think I already showed them this picture and explained it.
-
is it sierra sidewinder @ Knotts?
-
nope :)
-
I know, I know!
-
Matt's coasters design in his house
-
Nope. It's a real coaster and currently operates.
-
As in, it operated yesterday and will operate today? ;)
-
The new Space Mt.
Is it East or West of the Mississippi ?
-
South of the Mason Dixon Line :)
-
it's from cypress gardens going to bg
-
I thought it was going to Animal Kingdom.
-
South of the MD line, East of the Mississippi river... And no, it wasn't at Cypress. A bonus clue is that the maker of the coaster didn't even have a coaster at Cypress.
-
And it's at a corporate/chain park. ;)
-
Is it made out of steel?
-
Well it's not a woodie. ;)
-
So I guess I stumped everyone, or everyone cheated and didn't want to admit it ;)
Should I just tell everyone what it is?
-
Mummy at Universal Hollywood? ;)
-
Has it been relocated?
-
It's stayed in the same place.
Yes Matt it is the Mummy. How'd you know??
I took that picture from the control room the other day during our "special backstage tour".. It was pretty fancy back there.
-
Oh, you mean the one at Universal ORLANDO? ;)
-
wow you waited a whole two days ! You know it takes at least two weeks for an answer in this thread. gezz
-
I wanna try!!
What and where is this coaster
(http://www.coasterimage.com/pictures/hersheypark-pictures/roller-coaster-pictures/sidewinder-pictures/sidewinder04.jpg.php)
-
You want to try? :) It's a guessing game... I'm not telling!
-
What do you mean your not telling?!?!?!?!? Just say what it is!! That is, if you know
-
I'll be nicer than Rob lol
Try taking a look at the name of the image file :D
-
Cheater!
-
The name of the image file isn't the name of the coaster.
The name of the coaster was actually already said, by 2 people, but only one got the right park. I do know what the coaster is, and I took that picture myself.
-
Mummy - Hollywood
-
Wrong-O
-
grrrr
-
So close though!
-
Mummy - Orlando
-
Congrats! Only 5 days since Matt and I gave the answer. :P
-
Can this one finally be over now? ;)
-
Wait, was it Mummy in Orlando Matt...?
-
I say we keep guessing.
I can swear it looks like the Coney Island Cyclone ;)
-
This is hilarious.
-
I'm I missing something
you already sold us what it is
-
I say we lock his thread now. ;)

This is the most activity this thread has seen in a long time!

-
Ok forget Rob. Guess already. No it's not a Togo.
-
whatever it is, it doesnt look too safe.
-
Ahh i remember looking at this ride on rcdb and thinking how odd it is. Is it in africa or am i just making that up?
-
It's the abcdefg coaster :D. At least Matt changes the file name LOL
-
Hehehehe.
No, it's not in Africa. But based on who designed it, I'd say it's pretty darn safe and likely very, very fun. ;)

Voyage?
-
Beast?
-
Nice Tv... I think chuck's right with Voyage though.
-
Boulder Dash
-
Boulder Dash
I agree Boulder Dash .
-
Nope. Definitely not Boulder Dash or the Beast. There is a big clue if you look closely as to why it can't be either of those two. And it's not Voyage either. :)
-
Oh duh, steel structure. Ravine Flyer 2

Twister?

Ghost rider?
-
Termanater salvation?
-
It's Roar guys. Rob just hasn't posted "Yes" yet because he's at work. I'll post something new soon.
It's best to save an image to your computer, change the file name to something non-descript, then upload it to a photo-hosting site or any other ile host you have access to. Then post the image link here.
-
Here's a good one. :)
-
I have no idea what it is but it looks kind of boring.
-
i think its in china. but dont know the name.
-
Not in China, but you're kind of close. ;)
-
It's the one they have been building since 1988, plus if I answer correct I'll have to post a picture and I can't do that. ;)
-
Japan korea, and I can't remember the name
-
^wrong still. Just use the clue I gave and you can find it.

Wrong, Tom. LOL
Bubba knows.
It is NOT in Asia, but not too far from there, relatively speaking. It's nowhere close to the US.
-
ORPHAN ROCKER!!!
-
Yes! Now you're burdened with posting a new one! Mwahahahahaha!
-
I'm gonna break your neck for making me search for it, too.
-
This could be a challenge...
* I'll give hints were needed (if needed)
-
Oooo, like I'm really scare, ya know. For sure! Whoa!
-
I didn't mean it literally...
-
benoit de groote
-
Me neither. Game on...
-
Let's hope Flying Turns doesn't become an Orphan Rocker.
22 years and counting. Amazing!
-
Flying turns from what I've heard only needs the trains and it'll be open. I'll repost my pic with this so nobody has to go back a page:
Benoit de groote is the photographer who took the pic, nitrorox. But that should be a slight hint for the answer.
-
Le monstre?
-
nope... It isn't a racing or dueling coaster.
I'll give two more hints then you're on your own
-
Nice pick.
Loup-Garou
Walibi Belgium (Wavre, Walloon Brabant, Belgium)
If anyone else wants to post a new one, go for it. Otherwise I'll get something together later.
-
I'll do another one, and try to make it harder...
For those who think it's pig latin... Loup-garou is "werewolf" in German.
Here's a good one...
-
Much easier (for me) than the last one. But I'll let someone else answer this time.
-
Yes. I know it but I'm at work and can't post a new one yet, so if it's still there later I'll post a new one if I beat Matt
-
^^ wildwood..Flippers. Middle pier.
-
No Flipper's ;)
-
Bubba, you should've gotten that one right on the first try.

-
Excalibur
-
Yes. Post something new!
-
I will this evening if I find a computer lol. I've been snowed in Toms River, might not be home until Monday evening.
-
ouch. I just got my driveway cleaned up like 10 mins ago. nobody's driving out in Moorestown and the plowing they're doing is really bad.
I'll take your turn for you if you want.
-
OK, well I have one ready for now....
-
I've seen that coaster on rcdb. I can't remember if it's national or int'l.
-
It is.

Wow Chuck. Good job! Now post a pic you slacker!

FINALLY figured out how to post pics.
-
Mighty Canadian Minebuster @ Canada's Wonderland
-
LOL. Too easy.
-
I thought that was harder than roar.
-
It would be if the pic didn't show so much of the ride and waterslides. ;)
-
I don't even remember those slides? Did they take them out before we got there Matt?
-
This is an old picture from before they ruined MCM. Some of those slides would have been there and some have been replaced/upgraded. In 99 they made the 2nd and 3rd hill of minebuster one big long hill that totally ruined the ride. The reason was to have a 2nd pathway to the back of the waterpark. The pathway goes under the new long hill. The origional pathway to the back is a bridge near MCM turn around.
-
Yes Bubba. There be slides there. ;)
-
Are there more near the standup as well? Need to go back to CW next October.
-
The stand-up borders the waterpark. MB runs through it. The Q's are across the walkway from one another.
-
Ill go!
-
Oooo being tricky with the new, hard-to-find-pictures-of-paint job. ;)
Well, it's obviously invert track and B&M-esque, BUT the train is two-across seating, so it can't be B&M. Who makes 2-across seating on B&M style track? Giovanola does. http://www.rcdb.com/1169.htm?p=2102 (http://www.rcdb.com/1169.htm?p=2102)
I was able to locate your picture on Google Images. So yeah, the answer is:
Anaconda - Gold Reef City, South Africa.
Very nice pick!
-
Ok then...
-
I was able to locate your picture on Google Images. So yeah, the answer is:
What did you search?
-
I searched "Anaconda Gold Reef" after I already determined which ride it had to be. :) The google search was just to verify my answer.
-
Matt , the coaster u picked is ......
"so easy even a caveman can guess it "
I liked the story behind why the track is brown and not white like every
other mack bobsled.
-
Does Bubba have pict-apost-aphobia?

How about this one?

-
LOL .. Even I know that one but I dont know how to post a photo ...
I am going out on a limb here and guessing ...KINGDA KA !!
-
It can't be Kingda Ka. The coaster in that pic appears to be operating. Or maybe it's broke down at the launch pad. ;)

How true is that Matt ... LOL .

Just use the reply button instead of typing in the quick reply box. There is a link on the reply screen for "additional options" which includes attaching images for upload. :)
-
I keep getting an error .. I have a good photo too UGH
-
If it's a URL with .jpg or jpeg at the end, then all you need to do is this
[ img ]http://insertURLhere[ /img ]
Just don't space anything.

Stupid Fly wheel, why couldn't you work the three times I visited. I would rather have it raining out with Thunder and lighting then miss it due to not enough grease. Hopefully a Tidal wave could send this to a differnet park again.
Oh wait you sit in the Midwest.

Your nemesis is a Weight Drop shuttle, not a Flywheel. ;)

I am reviving this thread out of pure boredom and I like this too much...
Good luck.
-
Little Dipper SFGAm
-
You are correct. I thought a construction pic would throw a curveball.
-
Raging Bull and Giant Drop are in the background and it's clearly the Little Dipper lol.
-
LOL, true. Now post your pic.
-
(http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c352/matt515o/matt-dipper.jpg)
-
Nice one... hmm...
1) curved station
2) personal picture, which really limits the amount of coasters... to probably 150 woodies lol.
3) simple lap bars
4) looks like a classic PTC train
5) File name has "dipper" in it.
It is Little Dipper... In Kiddieland!
-
The original!
-
This one should step it up a bit...

BorgAss. ;)

-
Canyon Blaster @ Great Escape.
I know an Arrow Mine Train when I see one.
And Bubba's picture is Sky Train in China... I knew I remembered that from somewhere.
-
Alright, here's my coaster.
-
G Force Drayton Manor which has one of the oddest layouts of any coaster imo
-
YOUR TURN!!!
-
Since Shoe takes forever I'm going for him.
-
First hint:
It is Defunct.
-
Antelope?
-
Nope
-
hercules
-
nope,
Hint #2: Not in the US...
-
Is that pic really from RCDB?
-
Yes, not edited whatsoever...
-
Nevermind. It's Pegasus formerly at Efteling.

-
Either American Eagle or Great American Scream Machine... I'd go with the first one.
-
Negatory
-
I'd guess, but I don't know when I'll be able to add more to the thread. I'll give it a day or 3.
-
Alright, let me get RCDB into this.
-
with those train i don't know where to even start.
-
with those train i don't know where to even start.
That's what's throwing me off. It has the paint scheme of Great American Scream Machine, the racing set-up of American Eagle, and some train that looks like it's from WW2.
-
I have no idea, and I know for sure we've had a discussion about this coaster in the past. Ugh.
-
I racked my brains hard enough trying to find the damn thing in RCDB. I haven't seen trains like that ever and I don't even know if it's still operating or not, let alone who built it.
-
Mwahahahahaha!
The ride is still in operation; however, the trains were changed shortly after the ride opened. This is the only photo I've ever seen showing the originals.
-
Rolling Thunder lol
Seriously though, could it be Colossus @ SFMM?
-
Colossus never had that paint scheme. Neither did Rolling Thunder. The trick will be finding the colors of the ttrack.
-
Neither of those two.
-
The Colossal Great American Thunder Eagle Machine.
The master has stumped us on this one.
I already wasted a good hour trying to figure it out.
-
Kings Island Racer ?
but i think the racer had PTC trains when opened
-
Nope. I'll give y'all a hint (this one is HARD).
Here's another pic to help you out:
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2458/5769604415_4cfca39285.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/thescorpionlair/5769604415/)
picture (http://www.flickr.com/photos/thescorpionlair/5769604415/) by Edward Beavers (http://www.flickr.com/people/thescorpionlair/), on Flickr
-
PS RCDB won't help y'all with this one. :-)
-
Ugh, gonna need some more hints. And that black and white pic made it even harder for me.
-
Stampida (Portaventura)
-
Nope ( I'm only answering cause Matt us spending the weekend coasting with his mom, I texted him once I saw the pic to confirm the coaster ).
-
Could it be Rebel Yell in King's Dominion?
-
It could be but it's not.
-
Now to run down the list of Duelies in Rcdb. Is it Le Monstre in La Ronde?
-
Be more creative than running down a list. Matt found that pic on the internet. Stop being lazy and look for it.
And no, it's not le monstre.
-
Thunder Road @ Carowinds...
http://www.carowindsearlyyears.com/thunder3.html (http://www.carowindsearlyyears.com/thunder3.html)
Here's a crop of pics. That one was a chore but I got it, lol.
EDIT: Mine is posted below...
-
Wild One @ SFA.
-
Yes.
-
Easy One. That's a signature element of the ride.
-
Yeah, after that last one I wanted to make it easier for a bit.
-
Page 37, Bubba!!
Ok, here's a good one...
-
37!!!! This one is so easy... Dragon Coaster @ la Ronde ;) lol
-
Haha! Nope.
-
inb4 Dark Knight Coaster...
-
reminds me of the side of chiller's station, but definitely too tall.
-
13
-
I think Ogolo just got a cookie lol. Now that I think about it the door placement fits nicely with the "drop track"
-
Nope. :)
It is in North America!
-
Runaway Mountain at SFoT.
-
Good guess, but no.
-
I don't like this one... there's no sign of a coaster at all. Technically, I can post a picture of a building too and have the same result...
I'll guess Exterminator @ Kennywood?
-
^ Nope
-
Flight of Fear @ KI?
-
Nope.
-
Uhhh, North America.... Indoor coaster... uhhh, Black Diamond?
-
We Have a WINNER !
-
And I can't post a pic from my phone this weekend... Matt, care to do the honour again?
-
Goosd job! I'm away for the weekend. Anyone who wants to post a pic go for it!
-
(http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz188/dkny6363/behe.jpg)
-
Gee, what could that one be? ;)
-
ugh my Jokes aren't working, first was "Didn't realize Nitro was that close to the water" But the drop set up is all wrong. Followed by "I didn't know that park was flooded. " but Time Machine has a loop.
Is that Goliath, oh wait... which one? Going to Rcdb now !!!!11!!!11!!!! :)
-
Or how about "Looks like they filled Prospertown Lake a little too much!"
-
OH LOOK IT'S LA RONDE!!!
-
it is not a la ronde
-
It sure ain't!
-
There is a huge clue just to the left of the picture.
-
Not to mention the two coasters to the right. ;)
-
And all of the trim brakes on the hills. ;)
-
It's so Emo
-
Behemoth...
-
Congrats! Your prize is....
You HAVE to post a new picture! ;)
-
Don't look at image info.
-
At first I was going to say Verbolten, but rcdb did not have this picture up, so then i thought Thirteen, but again this picture wasn't there. My third guess was Saw: The Ride.
-
13 was my first guess as well
-
Verbolten hasn't really added much track outside of the concrete basin that will be the SFX area. Don't know where you got that idea from, lol.
-
MF44 got it...Saw: The Ride.
-

that's true, I guess I didn't take into account the ground and immediately just looked at the track and was reminded of Verbolten. I will finish my turn later on tonight.
-
I didn't notice that train track nor that little tunnel when I rode saw.
-

-
The Lost Boys !
-
Great ride! :)
-
Actually @ Ye Olde King's Head @ 2nd and Santa Monica so that probably gives away the locations lol
