I would like to see a Freefall Drop Tower ride or a Splashdown water ride like Movietown Water Effect..i have a bad feeling that we will never see another new water ride at Great Adventure anymore..I would love to see a splashdown ride as tall as the Pilgrim's Plunge at Holiday World and Splashin Safari with that elevator lift!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'd like to see a tilt-a-whirl, and a scrambler, and a rotor, and a breakdance, and a wipeout, and a giant slide, and flying scooters, and antique cars, and BUMPER CARS. They need the basics!
-
No more coasters! We need flat rides....
-
Bumper Cars, Techno Jump, Roto-Drop, everything that matt said, a frisbee and maybe an observation tower that's 250 ft. tall.
Too much for their budget but they can afford a roller coaster...
-
An observation tower would be great. Surprised that never happened in the old days. The park needs some kind of monument that isn't a roller coaster.
Oooooo Techno Jump. EVERY park should have one of thems! So freakin' fun!

+1 Spunk for that!
I would love to see an "Escape from Pompeii" style water ride at the park. Classic big splashdown ride, but with a story. As Charlie Sheen would say, "bi-winning!"
-
I see your spunk and raise you another. ;)
-
lol, Charity time...
A Obersvation Tower would make a nice skyline along with Ka, Nitro, and the other bunch. But Great Adventure really needs to get back to the good 'ol days where there wasn't as many rules ('04 or '05) and a bunch of flats to choose from ('99-'00). Here's to dreamin'...
EDIT: Why hasn't the park made a statue for Warner Leeroy yet? I mean, he did found what is one of the premier parks in the US. ::)
-
Do you really want to go back to less rules? Shapiro coming in and having the chain enforce the code of conduct for real completely changed the overall atmosphere at the parks for the better, by far. The only two they went a bit too far with was the smoking policy and the souvenir cups as loose articles. Both of those policies have been refined for this season to be much more guest friendly. When it came to smokers, people deserve a second chance if they truly didn't know the rule and are willing to follow it, and now they do. The souvenir cups should never have counted as loose articles that were banned from the rides, and now they aren't thanks to the handy cup holders.
-
Handy cupholders. You mea n I can take my soda on Supes now?
-
There'd be some pissed guests waiting in line as the train passes over...
-
WE NEED THE BASICS ... Please NO MORE COASTERS !!! Flats are a must or there are many people that are not going to come back !
-

Only to the station fortunately (or unfortunately...depends on your outlook). LOL.
-
its a no brainer
I would say Drop tower but in light of accident at the other park

-
I'd rather them get 5 classic flats then one giant super expensive ride that I personally don't care for. You can get a Gravity Group woodie for the price of that giant frisbee.
-
I miss Frisbee at Great Adventure. I have ridden both giant Frisbees in Ohio...and the ride experience is nowhere near as intense or fun as Frisbee was.
Just like Topspins are far more fun than that thing they now call the Crypt at Dick Kinzel's Southern Ohio Fair Park.
-
IMMMM BAAACCCKKKK!!!!!! and when i saw this board i just had to post to get out of my several month hiatus. I personally think that the chiller station should be torn down but its double queue lines left. they should be used for a double tower drop ride like the one at dorney or something. bring back the bumper cars, put a disko or inverter in between green lantern and the alpacas and for a finishing touch a condor in the lakefront section!!! 8)
-
You probably didn't know this but GAdv used to have a condor in the 80's...
-
Paging Sue ;)

Sue's here and I LOVE Condor rides! Can't wait to ride some in Germany this summer where I'm sure they run much better programs than in the US.
-
Ooooo a German Fair Condor might be sick!
-

i knew that. i do alot of research on greatadventurehistory.com i jus thought it would be cool if they brought one back cuz everybody loves the! and they are so much fun!
-
Mark Shapiro would never go for a drop tower, maybe a star screamer like the one sfdk is getting
-
Good thing Jim Reid-Anderson is CEO now. :)
-
Rollercoaster Time Machine!
-
Sounds better than Hot Tub Time Machine!
-
Except that would cost too much money for Six Flags management to except...
-
$7.5 million for TDKC...
Compare that to Disney's $100 million for Expedition Everest...
-
I still like the idea of my inverted impulse coaster let's take down magic mountain!!! ;) but I also want the condor back!!!
-
Expidition Everest is 10X better then TDK. And I'm sorry, TDK is not worth 7.5 million dollars
-
Kingda Ka is 28 mil
All of the B&M's except Nitro were around 15 mil
and I would guess skullie was about the same as Tdk
And a decent GG woodie would run around 7-8 mil
-
I agree. But a company is only going to use it's own IP, or IP it's already licensing. Since you don't work for Six Flags, the likelihood of them picking up your idea to be quite honest is slim to none. Companies make it a VERY common practice to not solicit ideas or even comment on ideas submitted to them because of the serious legal implications it can have.
I don't want to burst your bubble, or stop you from being creative overall...but you should know the reality of the situation if that is the end goal you have for Claws. You might want to focus on a new destiny for the character.
-
New idea one word..... Windseeker!!!
-
New idea one word..... Windseeker!!!
*Like Button*
-
They did that with Green Lantern and TDK because the have the licensing to do so...
-
So i planned this out. windseeker in between gl and kk. s&s drop dower in freefalls old spot, gci woodie behind tdk that would also take up spin meisters old spot and musik express and will reuse chillers station. since its a woodie, and its near batman it could be called scarecrow, and bring time warp back, and last but not least (and i know its sounds crazy with a side of insanity) but a vekoma boomerang on the lakefront. now i know everybody thinks EVIL BOOMERANG TORTURE DEVICE!!!! but if you think about it its a great choice which is why over 40 parks have one. its relatively cheap, puts you upsidedown 6 times and it goes backward. so its like an all in one package. oh and i almost forgot bumper cars come back too. but re themed to some kind of batman theme.
-
^And Vekoma's new trains are apparently comfy, too.
Great Adventure's new management has a HUGE laundry list of stuff they want fixed during the next few years. Going from Ride maintenance to the lack of themeing in rides and ride reliability to landscaping. I hope they aren't BSing this because it seems like they're trying to give Great Adventure the best public image in the park's history, ever.
-
Windseeker by GL? A little close to the wonderful parachute drop ride.
-
Windseeker should go by the lake imo... preferably around the grandstand area. Imagine rising above the tree line and getting a spinning look at Prospertown Lake and the rest of the park.
-
Or we could put the Windseeker on the clear pad that already has a shed and a queue...
Unless we're leaving that alone for our drop tower.
-
Wasn't there a clear pad right beside the grandstands? I remember Time Twister being in that area.

Time Warp's old pad is the Festival Stage. The pad I'm talking about is near Granny's.
-
Ah... It's still a good general location for a ride like that.
-
I dont think claws will happen. Management wont listen to an idea from an "outsider".
-
Management also won't step outside of IP they already have in place...
-
a 400 ft tall drop tower with a ton of flat rides to tie it in. :)
-
A drop tower next to the "Three Point Challenge" basketball.
-
Where the slingshot is going?
-
^ Exactly. if the sling shot is going there how bout a tower behind the Dark knight. Where Chiller's station is. After all, the stations just sitting there.
-
A drop tower that shoots out of the observatory!!!
-
^ I love that idea! A drop tower that shoots out of the observatory would be awesome. Something should be added to Movietown involving Chiller's sation. I love the way Chiller's station and observatory looks. VERY TIM BURTON! They should use it for a new ride!

Sorry for the long quote, but you do know that Six Flags Inc. will not buy anything from vekoma because of what happened with the Deja Vu's, it is very unlikely for them to put in anything Vekoma.
-
If they were to get an S&S tower it would have to be multiple towers like CP has. You would have to put it in a different spot, not enough room in the old free fall area. I still think a gyro drop is the way to go. Great thrill and high capacity.
