RUMOR ALERT: I've heard season passes might be going up AGAIN once the park opens. I'm not complaining... actually, I'm SMILING :D because the way they are staging this is just fine with me. You snooze you lose.
Anyway, I now notice in bold print on the sixflags website - "Prices valid thru April 30" which would seem to indicate prices are in fact going up.
We'll keep you posted if we hear anything more.
-
Ahem. The park opens well before April 30.
Right?
-
He did not say it would be immediately after the park opens. This would still be well ahead of the peak season.
-
I just hope I can get a parking pass for the $30 price on opening day....
My season pass voucher came quite some time back.
-
Agreed on the Parking Pass... Here's hoping it stays at $30 until at least April 30th!
(I'm such an idiot forgetting to get one with my pass last year!)
-
This is insane. But im happy I already got my pass. Im not going to be suprised if they go over $100
-
I bought mine online when I get my season pass. Can't you just buy a parking pass online?

Yes, but you will pay excessive shipping fees. Buy it at the toll plaza on your first visit ;)
-
Oh well, its already in my wallet.
-
Does anyone happen to know if they are shipping season passes out in the mail this year? (for those who bought last year). They did it last year, so I'm thinking they will do the same this year.

I was thinking the same thing. I kind of want to get a new picture taken though as I have used the same one the past two seasons.
-
Yes, my family got ours online in January and have already gotten them in the mail.
-
Good thing i took care of mine way back in october 8) .
-
All right, thanks guys. That means mine should be here soon! :D

I think things are getting confused here. KKR05 is asking about the "Blue Card" passes that were automatically sent out by the park last year. I think Nozzy is referring to ordering online and getting them delivered with last years picture on them...
Two totally different animals...
-
I'm surprised nobody asked about my joy of seeing this all happening LOL
Here is my POV on things...
Yes, we are paying a higher price... ONLY IF you waited until the last minute.
This situation is 2-fold. First, corporate now knows what to expect in terms of capacity. They will finally be able to see a trend in terms of how many SP sales vs. day tickets, etc.
The other good reasoning behind this is that it will deter those that feel Gadv is a baby sitting service. Ma may think twice about getting son a SP in July now that its a hundred bucks. These guests were only there to hang out. They weren't REALLY making the park any money and typically, were a big part of many of the problems the park faced on a daily basis.
Finally, when a 1 day pass is nearly 60 bucks and last year 50, having a SP @ $74.99 all season just didn't make sense. It should be around double to make it pay for itself in 2 visits. These changes should spark a greater sense of appreciation for the facilities as well allow for the great changes they have in store for all of us :)

Yes, that is correct stew. So did anyone get the "Blue passes" yet?
-KKR05
-
Nope, haven't seen them yet.
-
Sorry I misunderstood  .
Anyway, last year I think they came the week before the park opened, I remember buying passes online then less than 2 weeks before the season started and then them coming in the mail afterwards.
-
Oh, all right. Thanks for the info! Can you just renew your pass online, or do you have to follow the new "buy 2" rule?
-KKR05

Prices valid thru April 30
Theme/Safari Indiv. - Online must buy 2 $89.99
3-Park Combo
(Theme/Safari/HH) $129.99
Note, there isn't a must buy 2 after that price. So I would think you can just buy one. I was going to do that for my daughter so she wouldn't have to stand in line. I on the other hand want to wait in line for a new picture.
HH Indiv.* - Online must buy 2 $89.99
Parking Pass
-
If you got your old season pass, just renew it online. All you do is type your season pass number on it and then they just send you a new one with your old picture on it. It's easier and more convienent...
-
Yes but if your picture is older than two years, you have to get a new picture taken.
-
That's odd...Cedar Fair allows them to be used four additional years after the first...

Oh, I didn't know that...

Thanks everyone for the info! I will probably just do what Chuck said during my week off this week :D

I get my passes through the credit card program but this year I will have to purchase one more for my son . I wonder do they still discount the add on passes to the family season pass? They use to give like a $10.00 discount. any ides if this still happens ?

No discount when I purchased ours online. Although I think that discount in the past only applied to buying a family 4-pack and we only purchased 3.
-
yeah it was after a family 4 pack. I wonder if they will give it to us when we come? I will let you all know. Also does anyone know if the coupon Book is going to be given out this season?
-
Yes, the coupon book will be out and it will have the bring a friend pass too. Go to the website and go to contact us, ask thru e-mail if there's anything else you need. I already asked about the coupon books lol
-
$ 99.99 is the final price increase for the season.
-
Given what is going on with Messrs Snyder and Shapiro, and the financial state that the company finds itself in, I wouldn't be placing any bets that that is the final price increase.
