Post by: coastermom on January 02, 2008, 09:29:02 PM
I noticed it tonight . The opening day will be April the 5th and last day of the season is in Nov. on the 2nd. I also noticed that FF friday nights are back to all 4 weeks in Oct. ;D.

I hope they get the money they need, or else these new operating days are going to be a bad idea.

Also a change from last year is the Saturday hours.  An hour and a half were lost each Saturday during the summer.  In season Saturdays in 2007 were 10:00 am to 11:00 pm , this year they are 10:30 to 10:00.

Anyone notice the safari is now open till 5 and will not be open in Sept or Oct. at all.

Also one weekend in Sept they are closed for a private event .

I think you read the schedule wrong.  The safari is open in Sep and Oct.  I also think it is interesting that SFNE is open at 1000 am on Sat and SFGA is open at 1030 on Sat during the summer.

I think these are good moves.  They know when they have and can get staffing and they also know the gate numbers.  Having the safari open til 5 is a nice bonus imo as well.

I think they would always stagger closing anyway if the park was really really packed which would keep people there later anyway.

I think the later opening may also have a lot to do with how early they are allowed to begin testing because of the noise.

They must have corrected it I was 100% sure that is how I read it . I found it to be strange maybe it was just a mistake on my part but either way it is now open and that makes me happy. I always enjoy the animals in the fall and spring .

Wow, see what typing on a phone can do...

I typed "I think" three times in a row  lol

And I agree, the safari is actually much better when it isn't crowded.  The animals seem to be out and about more when it isn't as hot to.

I think I remember when Great Adventure was in the middle of nowhere.
If they try to sell that nearby land the park will be opening at noon!
 :o

LOL...You would think it was in the middle of nowhere but there are many homes in the area.  A few years ago there was nothing.   I was amazed when I just saw new homes for starting at $800,000 in Jackson.

Anyone think they are going to do Rise and Scream, or something similar again?
I'm not expecting it, but it would be nice!

Also noticed no Saturday Pfizer Day in May/June/July/Aug...Possibly a Sat in Sept??
That is a first...

I might have to give Rise and Scream a few shots this year... Chuck would always call me while he was there, making sure I knew he was riding El Toro without getting out of the train, while I was either sleeping or working. What a good friend.

I hope they get a few dates for CAD posted soon so I can request off from work.
