don't have a membership... sorry.
Don't let that stop you. I don't have a membership either. It's not hard to find a card-carrying member to "sponsor" you.
-
*Parental permission, also...
-
Can't quote in the wap portal but add me as a 90% probable. Bubba has even been reminding my wife for me lol.
I might even be driving as well.

Keep annoying him and he'll have no choice...

What does claws have to do with this?
-
^^click the second link...
It's on a friday, and how long do I have to sign up for it? cause I might be able to work it out.
-
Gee....I wonder how that happened...
It's a small world, after all....
GADVwow, innocent I tell you....
(And don't ask Santa Claws, either)
-
You don't have to pre-register, but there is a small procrastinator's tax for registering at the event.

You don't have to pre-register, but there is a small procrastinator's tax for registering at the event.
how much?
-
Per the link:
"For on-site registration, add a $15 Procrastination Tax"
-
so how does the sponsor option work?
-
Been to the park but never the Event
I will try to swing it
Kings Island is a good add on with Diamonback and THE BEAST - lol maybe the trims will fail
A great selection of coasters
to me it one word FUN FUN FUN
cornball
edit: I'm a member of ACE going on 25 years
If you do not belong to one of the above Partner Clubs, then you must come as a club member's guest. The club member will serve as your interpreter throughout the event. Seriously, though, any guests must register for the event with the club member and sign the Code of Conduct on the reg form (with the understanding that the club member is responsible for his or her guest's behavior). We don't limit the number of guests a club member can br
-
so how does the sponsor option work?
LOL You get one of your friend whom is a member (or grab a random card-carrying enthusiast) to register you as their guest. It's very common for people to do this. I have sponsored my fair share of non-members over the years, but I'm taking a break from ACE so it's time for me to mooch off someone.
-
We'll since I'm not 18 yet, It's almost a law I have to mooch off someone.

I'm so ready for this event. I've been dying to get on the voyage for the past four years and I am finally able to go, so count me in!
Let me know what we are doing about transportation (flying/driving) and hotels.

I want to fly. I don't have time to drive.
-
105 days!
-
In the meantime we can look forward to Knoebels opening in 2 months.
-
I'm getting a zombie card through Sam marks for ten dollars you can't beat that . Coasterzombies.com or through Clints site coastercrew . For the i305 event on may 1st .
-
I hate you guys!
But, I will be at PPP this year!
-
I'm getting a zombie card through Sam marks for ten dollars you can't beat that . Coasterzombies.com or through Clints site coastercrew . For the i305 event on may 1st .
Is that a bubba special, or can I get in on that rate?
-
It's open to Canadians too but you have to deal with the Exchange Rate. ;)
Chuck, make sure you don't party too hard and miss PPP again. ;)
-
. For the i305 event on may 1st .
off topic but this event (i305) looks doable since its alot closer
any details

5. dkny6363 (gaurenteed!)
6. Ken "Ogolo" (He just doesn't know it yet)
-
He knows it. He just has to figure out how he is getting there.
And I have to join a club.
-
Don't worry about the club. I know people. ;)
-
I'm about 97% in. I'll know for sure later next week.
-
We need to plan soon to see if it's better to fly or not. I'm seeing round trip air for $225 which from a time perspective is probably worth it. But that will likely be gone if we wait til closer to trip time.
I know others have driven it but I'm guessing this is a 12-13 hour trip? Although obviously it is cheaper to drive. Especially since we'd need a rental car after getting in.
Thoughts? I fly several times a month so it's no biggie to me lol
-
It doesn't matter to me. I love to drive so driving isn't a big deal with me. The only thing with flying is that I am not old enough for a rental car. Also with flying, side trips are much more restricted because of time, but either way works for me.
-
I'm gonna have to fly in Friday morning and fly out Sunday morning if I do in fact go.
-
There will be enough of us to figure out a rental car so no worries there. The idea of a flight is to have more time for side trips actually. Get in sooner and leave closer to the last minute :).
I also wouldn't likely be able to leave until Friday morning as well as I'd likely be returning on a flight from somewhere on Thursday.
Bubba, if we drive when would you want to leave by?
-
Rich and I will be at Coaster Mania at Cedar Point. :)
-
It's open to Canadians too but you have to deal with the Exchange Rate. ;)
Chuck, make sure you don't party too hard and miss PPP again. ;)
Exchange rate is practiacaly even bro, and hospital stays of any length are still complety FREE! haha ;)
-
Touchè. :)
-
the accent is the other way matt.
-
Not when Matt says it... ;)
-
So Matt is immune to the rules of grammar?
-
No, you have to listen to him say it!
His accent mark is appropriate...for his accent! :)
-
Yeah, I'm from the Midwest. LOL.
Nice catch.
-
Rich and I will be at Coaster Mania at Cedar Point. :)
Waiting an hour for each "mediocre" ride ;)
-
^those rides are not mediocre!
-
They're decent. :)

to an extent.
anyway, it's highly doubtful I'll be going, since money is very tight with my family and a weekend trip is a little over the top. sorry. :(
-
Weekend trip a little over the top? Never go on a trip with Bubba then. ;)
-
I heard bubba might fly in for the day ;).
Of course this is coming from a guy that goes to wdw for the weekend lol
-
Bubba flew to Houston to go get the AstroWorld credits and flew back all in the same day! Now that's impressive! :D
-
Weekend trip a little over the top? Never go on a trip with Bubba then. ;)
I meant by money, but Bubba is nuts going to Houston and back in a day.
-
^those rides are not mediocre!
Ok. Magnum, Maverick and Blue Streak are above average... ;)
-
...and Wildcat...Don't forget Wildcat!
GADVwow, who thinks that is, by far, the second best coaster at Cedar Point
-
I love me some Gemini, but Magnum is still tops.
-
...and Wildcat...Don't forget Wildcat!
GADVwow, who thinks that is, by far, the second best coaster at Cedar Point
wildcat is a joy. But that ending is harsh.
-
We don't do lines so we won't be waiting an hour for anything. ;) My faves are Wicked Twister (first time they're having night ERT on it, I believe), TTD, and MF. Can't stand Maverick due to the horrible OTSR's!
-
They should seem familiar, being as they are the same ones as found on the big green thing in New Jersey.
-
Oh, I know, which is way I also dislike KK. The difference between KK and TTD is like night and day.
-
^^ I haven't had the chance to ride KK yet, but the thing that makes the OTSR bad on maverick for me is the harsh side to side banked turns. I would have to think on KK they would play less of a role. Any truth to this theory?
-
We'll have to wait for an answer from those who those restraints bother. Meanwhile, the back seats of each car on Ka are much more vibratey than the fronts. Must be all that extra structural support Ka has that TTD does not. Gotta love New Jersey....
-
^The downward spiral is pretty harsh with the OTSRs.

They should make a movie about this...

But who's whom? ;)

In order:
-Bubba
-Dkny6363
-AV Matt
-everyone
-
If we fly .. that would give us more time matt.s. Just think of the 20 hrs of driving u would save by flying .
-
...plus the money for gas...
-
Let's fly!
-
I'm up for whatever so flying is cool
-
Let's all fly together. :)
Now, to figure out an itinerary...
-
^The downward spiral is pretty harsh with the OTSRs.
I could see that. They bother me on Maverick. I can't say I notice them on Storm Runner, but I'm guessing it's cuz it's so insane I don't notice.
-
I'm trying hard to go to this event
well I got till May 5th to see
but airfare is always better to get early
just a quick look on Southwest
Early Fri 7am - depart Monday
shows $89 each way into Louisville, KY http://tinyurl.com/yf9rrwu (http://tinyurl.com/yf9rrwu)
other on Farcomare and Kayak show $212 and up
FYI Columbus is $64 but about 190 mile from Louisville, KY
I flown into Columbus when it was $39 a few years back then hit Kings Island
but it was a long drive
-
100 days!
-
Why do I imagine you have an official countdown clock ticking away on your computer? ;)
-
Just checked my free Southwest airfair expires on June 17th
so I'm about 80% in on this trip
just got to get it passed my women LOL
-
The countdown is all upstairs.
-
just got to get it passed my womEn
Jeez, getting a little greedy aren't we?
-
So has anyone planned anything yet?
Or are we going to wait until the last second.
-Flight+Car Rental or Driving
-Hotel arrangements
Looks like flights out of Phili are much cheaper.
Any ideas on where to stay since some of you have done this before.
CoasterZombies PDF Membership is $10 per person per year. No Bubba special.
-
I am looking at flying out Friday morning and back on Monday or Tuesday with Kings Island on Sunday for some dark Beast rides, and maybe something else on Monday.
Santa's Lodge is best for closeness to the park ( very short walk) and is decent all around.
Up for a similar itinerary?
-
I'm likely friday-sunday. As much as I love coasters, giving up the weekend is rough on me since I travel most weekdays so I'd rather not extend into Monday or Tuesday. We'll have to be careful with who leaves when, etc since we'll have rental cars.
-
I'm willing to share accommodations but be warned I snore!
These are for Friday + Saturday night with all taxes.
Queen Beds Deluxe -$255.28 (2 people + floor)

Any interest?
-
Maybe. :)
I've got a few friends outside of this board to coordinate with too.
-
when is this going to be. sorry i cant find the date.
-
Look above the words you just typed!
-
looks good so far, what does everyone think?
-
93 days!
-
Ken, I'll check into this today. I'd prefer to stay at a Marriott brand if possible (for me at least) since I have an insane number of points ;). If there are none in a reasonable distance, I'm likely in for at least Friday and Saturday night.
-

It may be close be some of these reviews make this place sound awful. Might continue the search.
-
I don't know, but when I stayed there three years ago I loved the bed I slept in.
-
Well, we wouldn't really be doing the extra things so it's really more the price vs. quality. I'd be expecting a bit more for the price to. They are obviously taking advantage of their location.
I just paid $150 a night for an extremely nice Courtyard in times square. Ultra modern and brand new rooms and many perks. So a place in Indiana you would think should be cheaper.
How about this place - http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/owbfi-fairfield-inn-owensboro/ (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/owbfi-fairfield-inn-owensboro/)
Yes, I know... I'm getting snobby lol
-
ahhh crap, nevermind, just ran it through maps and now see it's about 1 hour away.
-
Trust me, you don't want to even drive 20 minutes after a night of Voyage. Besides, all the cool people go to the campground afterward and party until the wee hours of the morning. ;)
-
And the drive to Owensboro is not fun for most during the day, much less in pitch dark...
GADVwow, known for going there to the Moonlite BBQ!
-
I am going to be too excited to want to drive far from the hotel in the morning ;)
-
Family Suite (sleeps 6) at Santas Lodge for less than $200 a night. That's what I always do. If not, I'll prob just crash at a campsite if we don't figure something out here
-
Less than $67 a person for the two nights in the Family Suite with Acky.
-
That's until I add the "Chuck Charge"
-
LOL!
The Chuck Tax.
-
I just checked... Santa's Lodge is $349.98 for the 2 nights in the "family suite". (tax added at check in)
0
-
Book it, Dan-O, err um Ack Ack.
-
I can't. Won't have enough money in my account to do it anytime soon. We can discuss this later on. Give me a call today sometime (Sunday)
-
How many can squeeze in this room
floors are fine
-
We found out the regular rooms with 2 queen beds would only be $60 a person with 4 people for the weekend and the family suite would be $75 for 6 people with smaller beds. The family suite is starting to seem like the least popular option.
-
And the suite relies on a pull-out couch for two peeps. No couch for me. Queen bed sounds way.better.
-
becouse you know AVMatt is a queen. but I would do the 2 bed for $60. seems better
-
why don't yuou guys camp. Tent sites are 25-35 bucks.
No worse than floors of a hotel room.
-
I'm a King.
If it's hot and humid that weekend, I do not want to sleep in a tent.
-
Regardless of the weather... I'd pay the extra $$ for a comfy bed any day of the week.
-
I'm a King....
Then be sure to visit your island, but your kingdom will not be open in Kentucky...
-
or in Ohio ;)
-
Uh, Ohio WILL be open.
SFKK is closed. Try to keep up! :)
-
I know SFKK is closed
I said "Or in Ohio ;) "
Isn't ceder fair almost bankrupt?
-
So? Isn't Six Flags bankrupt? Isn't Six Flags Over Georgia open? Isn't Six Flags Magic Mountain open?
-
ok you got me!
-
It's just very important to remember that even if a parent company goes bankrupt, the business usually goes on. Who owns and/or runs it may change, but the business itself is seldom liquidated. Kings Island, like Great Adventure, is a very expensive investment that will not be allowed by any bankruptcy judge to just sit idle. That would not be anyone's best interest.
Obviously, the same is true of Cedar Point, Dorney, etc.
-
I don't think bankruptcy has much to do with holiwood nights... Unless CLAWS is bankrupt. Say it ain't so! No CLAWS this year Virginia.
-
No new red wagon for Matt. ;)
-
82 days!
-
Do they allow dogs at Satan's Lodge? I might bring another "guest" with me.
-
Is santa lodge a good place to stay?
-
Yes. Overpriced but sooo close to the park.
-
My reason for wanting to stay there is incase my fam wimps out on saturday night after 8 rds of voyage, they can take the car and I can walk back at mid-night.
Bedsides the closeness is the hotel nice? Also do you need to reserve way in advance for that weekend?
-
It's a nice hotel. I never thought the price was that bad but I don't mind paying a few extra $$ to save driving at the end of a long day. It might take you about 10-15 minutes to walk fro the park entrance to the hotel.
As for booking in advance, it can't hurt to do it. I don't think they charge you until the day you check in, so booking it wouldn't be a bad idea.
-
Do they allow dogs at Satan's Lodge? I might bring another "guest" with me.
I'd call and ask. Maybe Bruce can watch him for a bit too? :)
-
Sort of off topic, but not really. I was looking into hotels for June and decided while I was at it to look into hotels for PPP in Oct.
1) Are hotels a good call, or is camping the way to go. What I mean by that is the camp ground scene awesome after PPP is over? I know there is a bon-fire... Do you guys camp, or hotel it?
2) The prices I was getting for Danville was only 50-60 a night. Will they go up huge $$$ once PPP gets closer?
-
I have stayed at the Knoebels campground in the summer, but never ventured in there over PPP. I always hotel it.
Book your PPP room NOW. Pretty much all of the area hotels will be sold out by Fall.
-

It's worth it just because you can walk across the street to the park.
It's not bad on top of that, but don't expect the quality to match the price (it's no Marriott).
-
So why are the rooms so cheap now... Is it possible they don't look into when this years Covered Bridge Festival is schedualed for until later on?
Is the Campground too crazy, or just cold?
I didn't expect SL to be great... just try to book it mid-week out of season... prices are wayyy down. They know when HWN's is unlike PPP in Danville. ;)
But basically I was only planning on booking SL.. Unless someone told me is was horrilbe and had bugs in the walls.
-
The rooms are always cheap when I book (several months in advance). Speaking of that, I should start looking into it. Not sure if the prices go up around the time of the event or not. The Hampton is ohhh so nice. The Red Roof is decent for a cheap room.
Yeah I don't think you'll mind Santa's Lodge, especially when you realize how close to the park you actually are. Less than 5 minute walk and you're inside the park gate. The walk across the HW parking lot is probably longer than the walk to the parking lot from Santa's Lodge.
-
Does Boulder Dash have an event? The only time you could get night rides is on saturdays.
-
Oc~Boulder~Fest (http://www.obfest.org/ (http://www.obfest.org/)), but it too is a Saturday Night.
Definitely going back to this one!
-
You can get night rides any weekend in October. OcBoulderFest is the lick. :)
-
It says on the link only 117 ppl last year... why so few?
Also this years page isn't up. What is the jist of the itinerary? One day, 2 hr ERT, same price as a one-day admission... something like that?
-
Something like that. The ERT was some of the best ever! Rob and I got the second to last row of the faster train (other train was cold) and didn't have to get out until ERT was over.
It's a regional event that most people won't travel far to get to, especially that time of the year. But there were plenty of attendees that day. Wouldn't want any more.
-
It was also a damp and dreary October day.
El Toro has never been the same since that day on Boulder Dash. Wow!!
-
Hopefully Voyage with its new trains will even one-up that. ;)
-
I still hate everyone who is going....haha!
-
So you hate my wife and small children? JK ;)
-
Have fun in the sandbox chuck !
-
70 days as of midnight!
-
Come on now, honestly. Are you more excited to ride the Voyage or meet me? ;D
-
Do you have a triple down, 3-90 deg banked turns, or timberliners? cuz if not i'd say the voyage. How can you blame me for being this excited? Never been to HW or KI... Voyage, Beast, Raven, Legend, Diamondback, Flight Deck, FOF... I've even recently got really excitted about Firehawk.
-
Just don't get excited about no wood coasters with loops. Oh, wait...there is no wood coasters with loops on this trip...or anywhere else!
-
I'm at least glad SOB's fait is official now... Last year for my SFGA trip Ka was rummored open day, then closed the next, back and forth.. It was torture! It wasn't until the weekend before I left they finally decided to give it a fixing and not just a band-aid.
Once I saw that it was closed it was a relief.
-
Well here's hoping all of your credits are open for this trip. I know the pain of missing out on a ride you're excited to ride. Too bad SoB will be standing there taunting you. At least the loop won't be there. Just go straight for the Beast to get your credit and then repeat as often as you can through out the day and hopefully you'll catch a night ride to top it off.
-
Likely going on day when they close at 8. So night rides for me :( Guess we'll have to make it up with 800 at HWN!
-
Try to go Sunday! It won't be disappointing after HW. You'll love it.
-
I'd like to but it's probably not going to happen. Exam week is the week after HWN's so I don't want to run into that too much. Also that would mean only a half day or so at KI. Which would probably be fine, except for the never been there part. Also I don't think it would be fair to the beast to ride it for the first time mid-day AFTER ridding the Voyage all night the day before. Next time I make it HWN's Beast night rides will definatly be on tap.
-
Just book Santa Claus Lodge for the fri/sat. If your looking for standard non smoking 2 queen bed rooms book now. Almost out.
-
Also booked room for PPP... Very excitted about both these events. Go right to the hotel website for days inn dansville and rooms are only 54.50 after tax. If you book on days inn general website they are 65 or so.
-
Non-Smoking Standard Queen beds are now gone (Queen Deluxe is the only option now)
I just reserved a Non_smoking Standard Twin room.
If you need a room don't procrastinate much longer.
-
Thanks for the heads up. I just snagged a non-smoking double.
-
Make sure you call... when I booked my standard queen you couldn't make the reservation on-line. The reason is they save some bookings for phone in only. For people who are unfamiliar with booking online. I called and there was no problem. Not saying that is the case now.
-
Yeah, I thought about calling tomorrow, but wanted to grab one while I was thinking about it. I'd like to get one of the Queen Deluxes if I can (pillow top mattress!). That's a stupid policy IMO, to hold rooms for phone reservations, just like it would be lame to hold a block for Internet reservations. ::)
-
Especially once the online ones run out... I would totally call. I just checked the website and the booking screen was the same as when I booked. I did however notice alot of the online booking options are running out. More so than this afternoon.
-
I just called. They have plenty of Queens left for that weekend that aren't showing up on the website. I'm switching to a Queen Deluxe. :)
-
Local peeps... Looks like we can fly Continental from Philly to Louisville Friday morning (6:30am-10:30am) and back Monday (5pm-8:15pm) for $240 total. Or if we fly to Indianapolis, we can stay at Kings Island an extra hour on Monday, but we'll have a much longer drive to Holiday World on Friday and less time to sneak down to Beech Bend.
-
^Let's fly to Louisville. Wow I really cannot wait for this trip!!!
-
Know anyone inexpensive that can watch my dog while we're gone? ;)
-
possibly my family, my mom just adopted another dog, so now we have three yorkies lol. I will talk to my parents about it.
-
Oooo, cool. Golden retriever puppy. Hopefully he'll be potty-trained by June.
-
I just booked my room as well. $233.08
-
Oooo, cool. Golden retriever puppy. Hopefully he'll be potty-trained by June.
They're very good dogs, you could probably teach it how to roll over and sit by May.
-
And answer the door, book hotels, make dinner, etc
-
mine can open sliding glass doors and car doors... He can also feed himself (If only he could CURB).
-
Still not 100% certain where I'm resting my head at but I know I'll be at Holiday Land Friday night and all day Saturday. Probably hitting SFStL Friday morning... Partying Friday/Saturday nights after the event.
-
Friday.....
Flying into St Louis Friday am. 8:40 landing. Hopefully have the rental by nine and the park(six flags) by 10 ( takes an hour gooogle says. Leave the park by 1 or 2 o'clock and Hussle to Holiday world for a 6-6:30 check-in. Ride Voyage all night.
Saturday.... sleep in , wake up and do the ert water park event or drive to Beech Bend for mini Thunderhead. Either way be back for more ert on Voyage. Sleep
Sunday...Take Wade back to the airport in St Louis. After that, either go back to Six Flags and do the rides I missed or take an elevator ride in the Arch. I might do both and fly out on the latest possible flight back to Philly.
These are my plans. I doubt they will change. If anyone wants to leave their car at my work feel free. This way we can just split the cost of one car at the airport. Or I could get lucky and have someone drive us over!!
Anyone feel free to fly with us or meet at the rental car @ 9 in St. Louis or the park.

Speed... If the limit's 50, do 55.
-
LOL. Obviously you don't know Bubba. :D
-
Is he a speeder or a geezer?
-
If bubba is driving and the limit is 50... Expect no less than 80
-
Is he a speeder or a geezer?
Yes.
WOW, who just HAD to.
-
I've been slowing down as of late. I did set my national land speed record in Canada @132 mph. That was until I saw those billboards in Toronto that take your car and fine you 10k dollars. lol
-
Yes that was a rather sobering moment. :)
-
The 100 speed limit is km/h, not m/h. Didn't you see the conversion chart when you crossed the border? Or was it blury?
-
Most cars list both mph and kmh. So it's easy to convert while driving :)
My car lists both with kmh in small print more towards the center while every rental I've had in Canada lists kmh in larger print with mph more towards the center in tiny print.

True most cars do have that... and my car has km's in larger print. However you'll notice at the fort erie, buffalo border coming into canada there is a conversion chart, and going into buffalo there is not. The reason is based on the average knowledge of each others country, and the average IQ. ;)
Just joking about the iq part... but surveys showed an ambassing amount of americans either didn't know how to convert, or even what they are.
-

An ambassing amount of americans you say? How ambassing!
-
This is just getting too fun. Especially since I used to be in Canada a lot for work. Brings back fun memories.
Anyway, as much fun as this is, let's try to keep it back on topic for HWN :).
-
Party pooper. ;)
How many days now, Canada? My IQ is ambassing low so I can't count so good. :)
-
Wow 1 spelling mistake leads to a death sentance. I believe we are looking at 9 weeks, aka 63 days. Oh and Matt the conversion rate on that 63 days... it's 63 US days as well.
-
So...8 pages later... anyone care to join me in an "official" roll call list?

Wow 1 spelling mistake leads to a death sentance. I believe we are looking at 9 weeks, aka 63 days. Oh and Matt the conversion rate on that 63 days... it's 63 US days as well.
But you don't have daylights savings, do you?
-
Oh and Matt the conversion rate on that 63 days... it's 63 US days as well.
LOL! That's a hard CORE post! :)
-
Yes we do have daylight savings.
-
50!
-
50 days. It seems so long... :(
9...
...days 'til Knoebels opens!!!!!
-
Seems like just the other day it was 100 days.
-
Old Voyage trains are going on the predator next year.
-
Yep, it be true. Should help the ride stay alive as the old trains are not only 20 years old, but more importantly the ill-faited trailered model by PTC. They didn't last long the other rides they were installed on. They needed to be replaced at least 10 years ago on Predator! Hope they get it back to top form. It's a great woodie when it's not trying to kill you.
-
I once rode it 17 time in row. Unlikely that will ever happen again. I hope Darien Lake picks it up a bit cuz it's my 2nd closest big park. If you want to call it big.
PS. 47 days!
-
41 days!
-
40 til KI, 39 til we leave, 38 til last day of work, 37 till... ummm nevermind!
-
Booked my flights today. Flying into St Louis on Friday morning, flying home Sunday night.
-
33!
Does anyone think I'll get KI tickets for less than 31.99?
Are you guys going to beach bend? Do they have pay per ride, or do you have to buy a day pass. $30 seems like a lot just for the rumbler.
-
Scat two !!
-
ACE discount or try ebay Craigslist but $31not to bad
-
I'd pay the $30 to get into Beech Bend over any money to get Ito KI. That's a fun little park and Rumbler is one of those rides you can ride all day and it just gets better everytime.
-
You can get cheap KI tickets at area grocery stores for like $24, even down in Louisville. I forget where we got Hannah's last year.... Price Chopper maybe?
BB has an ACE discount. I forget how much. I seem to remember paying just $20 to get in all the times I went.
Scat 2 is a super evil intense spinning ride at BB.
-
Kroger !!!
-
Winn-Dixie?
-
My thing is that I'll be pulling in around midnight and then going to KI next morning. I'd rather have them on hand than deal with that. However if I could get from 32 down to 24,($32 saving for 4) I'd have to take a look. Thanks.
-
My buddy near KI says you can get them at Kroger in the Louisville area for about $25.
-
...WITH a Kroger Plus card, which you can sign up for on the spot for free.
Note that Beech Bend may or may not be open:
Beech Bend Park will not be open for business this weekend due to flooding conditions.
Parts of Beech Bend are now under water including the race track, amusement park, and camping grounds.
Several building were also washed away due to the weekend flooding.
Park owner Dallas Jones says its going to be a lot of work getting the park back to normal.

I suspect it WILL be open by June...
-
I'm not driving in from the louisville direction. I'm doing KI on Thurs, and not Sun.
-
More Beech Bend news, from the park's website:
Beech Bend Park has postponed its opening day until Friday, May 7th due to severe weather and flooding. The amusement park will open and has not been significantly impacted by flooding. The racetracks and campground are flooded. All racing events are canceled until at least May 13th. Please check back for more information as it becomes available.
The amusement park will be open on Friday, May 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Both days will feature the Band and Choral Festival, so join us for some special entertainment! The country concert on May 6th at the Reagan theater has been canceled because the stage building is under water.

I'm not driving in from the louisville direction. I'm doing KI on Thurs, and not Sun.
I thought you might be flying in to Louisville. Guess you're driving? Perhaps there are similar discount up north. Tell me your route and I'll see what my buddy can come up with.
-
either 75 straght down, or 71 through ohio... depends if there is time for waldameer on the way.
-
Although Kroger is based in Cinci, there are Kroger stores throughout Ohio...and the further from the park, the steeper the discount. Again, you must have a Kroger Plus card to purchase tickets, but do not let that stop you...you can get said card on the spot at the store.
-
Is that new? We didn't need a card to buy the ticket last year.
-
You were supposed to have...
Some stores enforce it, some do not. If they get caught selling the tickets without a Plus Card, corporate at Kroger would not be amused. I am told the local Cinci Krogers are now selling tickets for $30.99. They HAD been $28.99 until last weekend. They normally go up again come Memorial Day.

Wannabe Hard CORE. ;)
-
Just bought 4 for $21.99 each. The link changed to ford workers union, but there is no mention of ford workers on the e-ticket.
-
Yeah really, do you have to have ID or something to say you're eligible for the ticket? Seems like anyone who knows about the deal should be able to use it.
-
22 days!
-
20!
-
LOL Sometimes I'm so glad I log in once in a while with my PC becuase the hard core post didn't make as much sense on my phone lol
20! This is crazy how fast it came up. I told Bubba when we first talked about this that with my luck I'd end up traveling for work right before or after.... well, it happened lol I'll still be making it but.. wow will I be tired. Next week I'll be getting some Manta, Kumba and Montu time in while working in St Pete. The week after I'll be getting some Alpine Coaster time in at Park City while working in Salt Lake. And the week after I'll be heading to Six Flags St. Louis with you guys and then Holiday World. And then the day after I get back I'll be hopping on a flight at 5:30AM for New Orleans. No parks near there unfortunately :( Not that I'm complaining or anything since I'll be seeing 4 awesome parks in under 20 days but I do have to work in there as well LOL.
-
483 hours!
-
wow Wade that's crazy!
-
Yeah, stop being such a credit ho and get a life. ;)

Have fun everyone!
-

-
What is the number of coasters at America's Rocking Roller Coast, Alex?
-
9, Yes 9.
-
ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Only a couple of more days until y'all get to enjoy the best woodie out there!
-
So you are all going to ride The Georgia Cyclone?
-
No we'll be riding the Voyage with both PTCs and a Timberliner (most likely but not at the same time)!!!!!
-
Maybe.
Statement from the park:
Holiday World & Splashin' Safari
Voyage train update: 1. We’ll provide public rides only after *both* trains are tested and pass State inspection (we hope by June 12); 2. The first train is scheduled for State inspection this Thursday morning; 3. If the first train passes, it will run after-hours during the private event HoliWood Nights, w/ the 2 older trains running during the days until both new trains are ready to go.3 hours ago
-
3 days!
-
so they will only be running one train, the timberliner, during the ert then (given it passes inspection)?
-
Yeah... And one train on Raven... Sounds awesome doesn't it?
-
Whine, whine, whine.... ::)
-
Sounds like the best of both worlds.
I still like the idea of the two PTC trains for Friday night ERT and then the single Timerliner for Saturday night ERT.
I can't wait for this trip I really need it right now!
-
Whine, whine, whine.... ::)
no whining. I'm pointing out how awesome it sounds.
-
2 DAYS!
-
Wow.
Bad pun totally intended.
-
Good thing we aren't going today. STL is getting 3+" of rain with golf ball size hail!
-
Those storms will probably be arriving here when are flights are leaving on Friday morning!
-
Now they are saying no Timberliner even though it hasn't been inspected yet. That's ok. I'd kinda rather have two PTCs myself.
-
Awesome news. Just makes me more jealous I can't enjoy one last event with that ride running how it should
-
OK
I DEMAND THIS TOPIC BE CLOSED :headbash:
I CAN'T TAKE IT :headbash:
I can't go but love to just can't get the time off :'(
you guys will have a blast and seams like half of the regulars on this board are going :P
I expect a full report next week
ride Voyage for me in the Front and the back

**Timberliner update for HoliWood Nights attendees from Will Koch (6/2/10):Thanks so much for your patience and understanding as we work to get the first Timberliner trains built, tested and open for riders on The Voyage.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to make the decision that although we’re close, we’re not yet ready to put riders on the Timberliner train for HoliWood Nights.
We know this is a huge disappointment and hope you know how hard we’ve tried to make it work for this weekend.
We’ll tell you more about it when you get here.
Meanwhile, we’re going to have lots of fun! To make extra sure, we’re adding:
• Earlier start for extended Wildebeest ERT on Saturday morning
• Wildebeest photo walkback during Saturday morning ERT
• “Open House” with me (Will Koch), The Gravity Group’s Mike Graham, and the front car of Timberliner #1 during both nighttime ERTs
• Q&A with Will and Mike prior to Friday’s ERT
• Rides on HallowSwings and Turkey Whirl (Friday) plus Pilgrims Plunge and Scarecrow Scrambler (Saturday) during evening ERT
• Other goodies tba when you arrive
Thanks for understanding.
We’ll see you soon—safe travels! Will Koch
-
At least we will get to meet the front car of Timerliner #1!

Robb is real funny pretending he wasn't coming >:o
About an hour away from Holiday World. Six Flags St. Louis was great and extremely nice!
-
We need to find dkny. How do we find you!
-
One word to describe this weekend. Insanity
-
We need to find dkny. How do we find you!
Step 1. I point down Matt in line for voyage, while riding voyage. He in turn looks confused and ignors me thingink i'm a die hard who's rode voyage 1 too many times.
Step 2. I pass all of you walking to holiday world at 7:40 saturday morning and decide not to pull over in fear that i'll be late for a kife breakfast. Why were you all walking?
Step 3. My wife and daughter visit the bathroom after Will Koch's redition of the beatles 17, and mrs. Koch's tear jerker speach. Possibly to regergitate pulled pork, and mac and cheese. Better in the toilet than on the legend. ; ) While this is occuring I track down Matt again and introduce.
Step 4. 2.5 hrs of insane ert later the stars alline. Although my wife told me that you were all heading out when Matt said and I quote "wait. canada's on the voyage, lets go back."
In a funny turn of events we actually stayed 2 doors down from some of you guys. We were room 228 in the lodge. Small world.
Anyways the weekend was insane! 125 days till PPP!
-
Canada! LOL
It was great to finally meet ya dude. Hope we get to hang out more next time.
-
I'm really trying for PPP after missing this event!
-
Wow what a trip.
How can such a nice family oriented park have three kick butt coasters?
I was so surprised by the Legend. There is something about having no expectations for a coaster and have it deliver such an amazing ride.
The Voyage didn't really deliver for me on the first few rides. Maybe my expectations were set a little too high.
And then I had my first night time Voyage.....I've never had such an amazing ride in my life, definitely a 10+ ride!! My throat still hurts from screaming so much.
Wildebeest is a good addition to the water park. Not really worth a 20+ minute wait during an ERT event or having a strangers feet stuck right next to you!
The surprise of the entire trip had to be "The Boss" at SFSL.
I would have gladly passed on a claustrophobic trip to the top of the arch for another lap on "The Boss"!
But it was nice to see that I actually helped top of the Gateway Arch.
Next time I might seriously consider driving! I spent way too much time it STL airport.
Maybe it is time for us to officially change dkny6363 to cananda!
Nice to meet you dkny. Too bad it wasn't earlier in the weekend.
Thanks for the great trip everyone!
-
HWN was a great, glad I met some of you's guys there, had fun spending time with my friends. Same time next year?
-
Nicely said Ken! I will have some pictures up and a trip report once I get home. BTW welcome to the boards Clint!

so does anybody know when the timberliners will be running?
-
The best thing to do is follow their facebook page. I'm sure they will tell everyone if not on Holiblog.
-
Since Edwardo isn't sharing here....follow this link to his amazing SFSL Trip Report/Pictures (http://carowindsconnection.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3118)
I didn't remember half this stuff!
-
Awesome! I now have ridden more total coasters, than bubba has ridden wood coasters.
-
You're gonna make him cry. ;)
-
I was actually going to post my TR here, but with work, a busy weekend, and then everything that happened at Holiday World last week, I got behind. I am still working on the actual HWN TR, though, and I'll post it :).
