Title: Don't you miss the Movietown Water Effect and Stuntman Freefall?
Post by: ThrillRideFan245 on May 12, 2011, 08:33:01 PM
I miss these two thrill rides dearly..don't you wish they had them still? Great Adventure does'nt even have a freefall tower drop anymore..that sucks.  :headbash:

Keep in mind that the freefall was a first generation ride that was there for almost twenty years... It had the up-time of chiller in its latter years and was bound to be removed at one point.

I do miss the water effect, but again that ride was getting a bit old too. Replacing it with TDK didn't help the situation. I don't think Water Effect would've fared well after chiller was removed, since the majority of the area it was by was closed up or just in crappy condition.

Great adventure plans to get back to the Old country, after they fill up all the empty areas in the rest of the park. Next year or the year after at best.

Bumper Cars are on the new rides list for the future... I hope new management follows through with their words, then maybe I'll come back.

As much as I think every park needs bumper cars, how good could they possibly be as a new ride at a corporate park in New Jersey. That's three strikes against potential for any bit of intensity. It's almost a waste if they are going to be slow and boring.  The only good bumper cars I've ridden at a Six Flags were at Fiesta Texas a few years ago. Who knows if they're still fending off the lawyers down there.

Thank goodness for Knoebels, Hoffman's, Keansburg, Indiana Beach, Coney Island, Fiesta Texas, Valleyfair, and Alabama Adventure.

The Scooters at Knoebels are absolutely INSANE! I love those things!

The cars they have were new just 4 years ago and only used for one season so it won't be any different than before. The park really does need it for the younger kids that aren't ready to tackle the big 54" coasters.

Movie Town Water Effect was the only ride in the park that I never got a chance to ride (besides kids rides) since I started visiting back in '97. I do miss seeing it from The Chillers barrel roll though :-)
