The park has mentioned on their official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/sixflagsgreatadventure?ref=nf) that this Saturday, June 20th, there will be a preview of the Saturday Night Lights fireworks that officially start July 4th!
The fireworks will be at 10pm, and before that will be the Glow in the Park parade at 9:10pm.

I know I'll be there this time!
UPDATE: The fireworks were rained out this past weekend. Currently the park is planning to try again this Saturday, June 27th. We will keep you updated!
UPDATE 6/26: The fireworks are officially scheduled for tomorrow night, June 27th at 10PM!

Anyone thinking of going ?? I am pretty sure we are going to try to make it down to the park for the day .

If you can go, go! The show is so amazing...it far exceeded my expectations. :D

I'm busy all day but may run down just for the show. I'm a fireworks junkie so this is worth the trip just in itself for me :).

That's what we did last time...we got to the park around 8:30 to watch Glow in the Park, then ran right over to the GL Grandstand to get good seats. It was AMAZING. Very loud, but the most spectacular fireworks I've ever seen (even outdid Disney)!

Hopefully the dew point will be a little more favorable this time.
Although I could have watched that "smoke on the water" before the show for hours.

That was an amazing site Ken. I actually stopped over by side of the grandstand nearest BBNP to take pics and a security guard came over as if I was doing something suspicious.

I'm working at the park until 7 on Saturday, but I will be bringing a change of clothes!

IT will NOT rain , It Will NOT rain .... Everyone needs to be positive ... I can not take anymore of this weather guys it really feels like the rain will NEVER END . IF the weather is rainy I guess there will be no show HUH ...

Well park employees, what do the conditions need to be like for the fireworks to go? Can we have an hour period where it's not raining and we will still get the show or if, say, it's still raining past 7 is the show called?

In the past, I know if there weren't allot of people in the park, the fireworks would be called off for weather. Rain is ok, but rain is usually accompanied by wind.

As long as the wind isn't blowing into the park from the lake, they will do the show from my experience. It was suppose to thunderstorm on Monday but it held off and Chuck, Reggie, and myself had a great time.

Does anyone have a camcorder they may let us borrow so we can have a better video of the fireworks?

Accuweather is amazing. That gives me a little hope as long as it's not too bad between 4-6, and the 10 PM part holds off.

As long as the Park is open, we are going. Rain, Shine, whatever, We are there. Last night was really Great at the park though, no lines for anything. Probably for the last time this Season since Summer is here.

Weather.com's future weather shows we might get a break tonight for the fireworks. I'm going to go (even though its an hour drive for me) and hope for the best! I'll be there around 8:30 for the parade.

Blue sky peeking out here in central NJ right now at 7:30 PM.

I knew when I saw the fireworks guys on Kingda Ka that it was a no go.
The park was pretty empty tonight. Rerides on Kingda Ka.
And again I know why they close it in the rain. Ouch!

Yeah. I heard that they -might- do it tomorrow, hopefully someone will tell us (or it will be on their Facebook page). Of course with how the weather sounds for tomorrow too they might as well just wait until next Saturday at this point :/

We were there last night and it was a great night for RE-Rides on Kingda Ka . We had a great ride day but were kind of sad :( when there were no fireworks . Other then being a little wet and tired we had a pretty good day in the park . Went later in the day and rode everything we wanted sometimes more then once. We had to ride Toro at least 7 times during the day . Never mind 3 times on Kingda Ka and twice with no one in the station ...That was pretty cool no one waiting in the station and re-riding .
Hopefuly they get to the preview in on Sunday but it doesn't look good for them .

That is the best time to reride Ka where they have to wait to fill the trains. :) Its also the best time for rollbacks.
