Post by: PcMan on December 18, 2009, 03:19:05 PM

HHHmmm  no spilling the beans

WILDWOOD - Morey's Piers issued a news release Thursday that revealed very little about a new attraction being planned for the 2010 tourism season.

The attraction, being built at the site of the old miniature golf course on Mariner's Landing Pier, will remain a mystery until it opens around Memorial Day, said Norris Clark, director of sales and marketing.

Clark said, "Jack Morey (the company's vice president) has asked everyone associated with the new attraction, including myself, to sign a confidentiality agreement."

Clark said the new attraction is being developed "and that there is a 'significant' budget for the attraction, which is being referred to as Project 5292010."

Clark said the nature of the ride is also still being discussed, but he said it would be a "unique, one-of-a-kind addition."

Morey's Piers includes three amusement piers and two beachfront water parks in Wildwood and North Wildwood.

Perhaps it's the darkride/walk-through they talked about.

Incorrect. The proposed new woodie is to be on both the Mariner's Landing AND Hunt's piers, and arguably more of the ride is on Hunt's Pier than on Mariner's. Basically only the station, lifthill, first drop and brake run are to be on Mariner's Landing.

the proposed spot is where they're redoing the entrance, the woodie will be on completely different pier(s)

Morey's Piers to unveil $1 million Ghost Ship attraction Memorial Day weekend

Myself and Tina will be here this Friday at Midnight at the Media Event so will report back with my observations Many Live actors and lets hope its included in the Coasten by the Ocean events which I would think it should.click the link for the long detailed article

The Ghost Ship experience is not only unique for its look, but for its length.

“A typical attraction is 2 minutes. This will be over 10 times that,” Jack Morey said. “It’s the longest attraction on the Boardwalk by far and may be one of the longest attractions in the amusement business anywhere.”

And the most expensive at 12 tickets a visit, the equivalent of $11.40.

Groups of 10 will travel through the attraction and at one point reach an opening that looks out on the pier before returning to the horrors inside.

I visited Morey's last night just to check out Ghost Ship. While it was expensive ($11.40), I must say that they did a dam good job. For it being a non-seasonal haunted walkthrough, I was very impressed. The part where you walk through the two giant airbag type things was absolutely awesome. Very unique feature and I really enjoyed it.

Yes the "tight area" was the best part
I told Will Morey not to remove that part and make it darker

when we did it at the media event it was pitch black couldnot see anything at that part we had to feel our way though which heightens the experience

Went to Raging Waters today. I liked how the ship served multiple purposes. Attraction and station for the sky ship, too. I wasn't able to go inside it since when we arrived the ride didn't open until 2:45.
