I think I'll be flying into Midway. I'll be starting at Great America and the prices seem reasonable. A friend of mine will be going and he's interested in going to Indiana Beach as well. I can't convince him to go to Holiday World. It was probably my description of the place as Hollihell World that did it.

Yes Holiday world is Still about a 5-6 hour drive from IB and a hour time difference
but IB is not to far from Midway and America is not far either  actually almost on the way to the Dells

better to do Holiday when doing SFKK , Kings Island area
Fly into Louisville or Columbus for this one

ok back to work for me

Here is the problem with any ERT event in the Dells, it is not worth it.  You can visit, say Timber Falls, and ride Avalanche for hours with no wait, but because the coaster runs just one twelve seat train, when you have an event there, you wait for the "ERT" rides.  It is just not worth the cost.  Mt. Olympus is much the same way, as all of their coasters run just one train.

Hmmm
Yes from what I read your right
with 1 small train  not really worth it

I guess I can go anytime and really no lines

That's basically the main reason I'm not going again this year for the events. I'm going on a weekday when I wont have to wait 40+ mins for a ride on Hades and any of the go-kart tracks.

I've ridden Avalanche 40+ times in a day... but I read that ERT rides weren't as easy to get re-rides.

Yup, that is about the sum of it.  If a coaster doesn't have a decent capacity and it is the only coaster in the park, too often it is pointless to have ERT on it.
