Moreys piers just posted on their facebook that moreys piers will be saying goodbye the the giant slide on 10-10-10 :o. they will be selecting 200 winners to be the last ones down. you can enter at this site. http://www.lastslide.com/Last_Slide.html (http://www.lastslide.com/Last_Slide.html)
on a side note could this be because they are making room for the rumored new wooden coaster that will span two piers. the giant slide is in the proposed location of the rumored coasters new lift hill on surfside pier. who knows? ???

For all you know they're just removing it, as long as the go-karts and the stratocoaster aren't moved the ride won't be built for a while.
-
From what I understand a lot of prep work is underway because of the new coaster. Several rides will be getting moved as well this off-season as a result. One of the rides being moved may surprise some of you to :).

The slide in its current condition is nothing to shed a tear about. It would be nice if they could build a new one though and actually use more than one lane of it. ;)
Look for much rearranging of stuff to make way for the new woodie.

Which one is the giant slide? is it a water slide? or that one right behind the giant swings?
-
It's the big slide on the Nor'Easter pier near the boardwalk, not a waterslide.

Photo from NJ.com - The slide was the first ride at Morey's and considered the ride that started it all.
