Title: PPP 06 Photo Trip Report
Post by: twisterbret on October 11, 2006, 10:40:21 AM
I see we have a bunch of people that enjoyed Knoebels over the weekend. We had so much fun. Conner is 2 years old now and really loved everything about Knoebels. He woke up Monday morning asking for Coasters, Trains and Ferris Wheels.

My daughter Kerri. She was amazing on the Flyers. I think the lighter you are the less you have too do.

Myself, Conner and Kerri. Conner loved the Frog Hopper.

I just noticed the right side of the pictures are cut off. I could have sworn there was a slider bar as I was posting them?

What kind of camera did you use?  Those flyer pictures are so clear.

I use a Nikon D70. I was using a lens I got off Ebay for 50.00 It's 180.00 new which is still a cheap lens.(Sigma 70-300mm). I have the ISO set to 400 so my shutter speed is around 500 and up. I'm using a technic called panning or tracking.

Nice pictures , I never did post to tell you on TPR.  The night shots are great especially the flyer one. I'm still messing around with my camera but I took this at Lake Compunce.

I picked up a Canon A620  7.1MP for $200
it has a cool flipout folding display,it also accepts lens like wide angle telephoto etc.
and just got a 4gb 150x SD card for less then $39 (I'm selling my 1gb if interested)
Great reviews on it
The pics I post here I have to reduce to 10-20% of the original they are so big
Also Takes great Video

Great Night shots. How did you get a scroll bar on the second picture? All my pictures right sides are cut off.

Close the side bars on the forum to see the whole picture.  The scroll bar is working on you're photos as well.

How do you get the Blur in your photos .
My Camera has all those settings but really not sure how to use them.
Been using just Auto

thanks

The blur is from a long exposure. You need to place your camera on something stable, like a tripod or even a trash can. I use a timer or remote to fire off the shot because pushing the shutter button causes the camera to shake. The shutter will stay open longer while the rides are moving and you have blur. You might want to change your ISO from auto to 100 and if you have noise reduction putit on. If you have a point and shoot they normaly have a "night" setting which will adjust the ISO and noise reduction for you.
