WOW what a surprise
Preservation Conference 2007
This event has been tentatively scheduled to take place on August 3-5, 2007, at Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ) and Coney Island's Astroland (Brooklyn, NY). This event has been moved from the previously announced locations because one of the parks may not be open in time for the event. source: www.aceonline.org/EventNews
Wade any info you can add to this ?
Also
If you are an ACE member who is 80 years or older , or if you know an ACE member who is 80 years or older who doesn't have email access, please take note of this message!
ACE has been contacted by New York public relations agency who has been contracted to plan for the 80th anniversary of Coney Island's Cyclone, which will be celebrated in 2007.
If you are over 80 and would be willing to speak with them, or if you know one who is, please contact Bill Linkenheimer at blinkenheimer@ACEonline.org.

Good find Tom...
I'm most likely down for that event if it is fact taking place.
-
Will keep those dates open.
when was the last time they had a Preservation Conference around here ?
I guess they want to get Coney Island in B4 the "big changes"
-
What happens at one of these Preservation Conferences?
-
I'm actually planning on going to this preservation conference with ACE this year. I've got 2 things to ask/tell any/all of you 1. Do any of you know if bigger people can get onto KK or ET? and 2. The dates for the preservation conference are August 4-5 2007 I will keep all of you posted on what coaster's we'll be doing ERT on and what the activities are going to be like.

/\ First post :)
As for your question, Kingda Ka is excellent for people of all sizes. For a OTSR, Intamin actually got this one right. El Toro on the other hand, sucks for people of larger size. Sometimes, the ops on Toro are more determined than other times to get somebody on but a lot has to do with your shape and willingness to be crushed. Also, for some reason, it seems certain seats have sensors that aren't as sensitive to.
I hope that helps!

It's great we will have a National event at the park this year :D
THey should make "big boy" seats more often on coasters to fit larger/taller riders.
If I waited 2-3 hours I wouldn't be to happy (some people don't see the test seat)

$25 off if you have a Season pass.
I'm 95% sure I'm doing this event and I plan on driving or if anyone needs a driving partner "you fly I buy".
I have room for 4-5 people in my Vehicle leaving from the Camden County area if anyone needs or wants to share a ride to Coney. or if anyone needs a few people to save on gas and tolls
still a few months away

I probably won't be able to make this event, even with it being as tempting as it sounds. I do need to get to Coney this year though... I am looking at either the 21st or the 22nd of June right now.
-
Yes I never been to Coney
I got to get up there especially this year
I just looked and seen my Karma
how do I see what and how I got it and from whom ?
Karma: +11/-1
-
Karma has now been disabled because the ability to see who and why it was changed was broken after the recent upgrade. Hopefully there will be a update to the code soon so we can have karma again lol
Back on Topic though, I'm going to try REALLY hard to make this event as I've never been to Coney either. And being that it will most likely never be the same again, I want to make sure I see it.
-
I Can't miss the ERT on El Toro and the other coasters
-
What's ERT on El Toro? Chuck, do you know? I don't. ;)
-
Seriously, go on a Saturday night till 10pm and you won't need ERT...
-
Hmmm
Maybe I'll do a Saturday Night
I still have the feeebee coupon from the book
I only been to the park once and that was opening day

Hi Guys,
I'm going to be at this Preservation Conference. I plan to be in Freehold by about 1 or 2pm if my planning goes well. I want to hit the shore, do Seaside Heights. My friend Bob will be with me for this venture. This will be his first out of region ACE event , and his first trip to Astroland and the Cyclone.
