Title: A Rolling Thunder observation
Post by: rjholla2003 on June 21, 2006, 06:25:42 PM
I've been looking at it a lot as i'm standing in el toro's line and i've noticed that it's had full trains every time. Looks like people like it again.

The thing is barely making it through its course. It seems much slower than last year.

It may be the bad capacity, or the fact El Toro is bringing people over to it. Either way, good for Rolling Thunder!

I think it was yesterday or the day before that Rolling Thunder actually had a 45 minute wait. :o

I have noticed a random pause at the top of the lift hill.  I dont know if it happens for no reason, if its a glitch.. or if they do it on purpose.

I havent seen left side open yet either.

Rolling Thunder has always had a slight pause at the top before going down the first drop.  I've been riding it since it opened in 1979, when they actually had both sides racing all the time.  I just think it appears so much slower to us now, having the super-fast Toro right next to it.  But I still love Rolling Thunder - I hope they open the other side soon - it's a little wilder than the right side.

I remember when I went to the park and they had a smaller woodie called Baby Thunder, which was still a lot of fun!  A perfect family coaster for kids and adults alike.

Anyway, the park continues to grow and evolve!

When I went on Toro the first time this year it did seem like RT was moving a lot slower but i agree candc. With the second comming of a higher power in El Toro RT probably just looks slow because there is such a contrast with the hyperactive El Toro.
