What do you think will happen to the rides at Universal that are Marvel themed?

IoA is just falling further and further every year it seems. As soon as Potterville opens in 2010, looks like they'll have to revamp all of Marvel Island too, unless Disney lets them keep it and just collect money from Universal.

Honestly, I see this partly as a move in response to HP. They lost the bidding war with JK to Universal for HP. So why not buy the rights to the other most popular section. They are seriously going for the kill here. And I'm not sure how thrilled I am. We'll have to see but I can see disney raping them for years over this contract until Universal can get a viable replacement in.

Meh. I think Universal Studios Theme parks are screwed in Orlando. They don't have anything close in relation to disney.
That and they don't have a water park. They have water rides, but not a water park

That would likely be because Wet n Wild is right down the street ;).  And Spidey, Dueling Dragons, Hulk, Mummy, HRRR, T:3D, Shrek, Earthquake, Jaws, Simpsons, MIB are all halfway decent attractions if you ask me.  There are quite a few more that I didn't feel like listing.

NOT A FAN! I don't thing Disney can/will serve Marvel correctly.  I don't even know how to really feel...but it's not good.

Well, they won't make them go out of buisness, I know that. Disney only bought the rights of Marvel. So it's not like they'll change spiderman to donald duck at any time.

Listen, I think Disney is going to ruin it:

...HI, MY NAME IS SPIDEY. I LOVE MICKEY MOUSE. YOU SHOULD GO MEET HIM! HAHA I LOVE DISNEY WORLD!...

They didn't buy the rights to Marvel, they bought Marvel itself.  I'm just hoping that when it comes to making the movies that Disney leaves Marvel alone and just shows them the money.  Marvel has been doing a great job on the movie front, but lacks the pockets to develop everything it wants.  I'm just curious to see how the Marvel theme park presence will evolve.

Yes, hopefully.  Motley Fool had a good article (http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2009/09/02/5-reasons-disney-is-buying-marvel.aspx) about the purchase that made me a little less nervous since they pointed out that Disney knows how to let things be at times.

Hmm as long as my season pass price doesn't go up  ;)  (at $99 365 days not blackouts)

I think/heard that the existing contracts will run their contracted length then I'm sure they will have to "re-theme" the rides or lease them/pay royalties from Disney(but unlikely)
I don't see this much of a problem. Spiderman would be a great ride in itself with a different character (there are many in Universals arsenal)
this also goes for the Hulk and the other Marval trademarks.

Harry Potter will SKY ROCKET attendance at the park once it's complete bring tourist from AROUND THE WOULD.
As of today Sept 7,2009 there really hasn't been any BIG announcement of Harry Potter attractions. But I'm sure that will Change in this upcoming off season.
We all have seen the "Robo-Arm" on rails and other concepts that will sure be implemented in the HP land.I just hopes it blows us enthusiasts out of the water when they do announce something.
I think we are about a year or less away from the opening of such   but it makes great talk
Have Fun
